That was probably written before the code for Crystal was discovered. I'm not sure if the code generator also works for Crystal though as I haven't tried it myself.

Use JK's Save Manager to extract the gamesave for your GBC VC title, there'll be a save.dat file contained.
I'm not entirely sure if the emulator's own save file will immediately work if you just rename the extension or if any conversion/export is necessary though.
