Why do Melee players refuse to mode onto modern Displays?

Why do Melee players refuse to mode onto modern Displays?

Those screens are more transportable user

Every competitive game would be played on CRTs if they were on a platform where that was convenient and can natively be hooked up to.

They've already demonstrated that they have an delusional attachment to a piece of software from their childhood, why is their obsession with specific electronics a surprise?

i think if the melee port on the switch is good then they will start using modern ones

/thread

>Input lag from V-sync, HDTV & 3 pre rendered frames on Nvidia hardware

Nope

Cause they suck

what the fuck is up with this obsession with "moving on"

If there was a better game to move onto they would have done it already.

what the fuck is up with the obsession with "super smash bros melee"

???

Theres a competitive scene? Just like ST, 3S, Alpha 2, KOF whatever version they like. What the fuck is hard to understand about that?

The creators are actively avoiding any level of competitive play in the later games.

Except 4 definitely tried to be competitive. It doesn't have the same level of autism as melee, but there was a definite effort.

Keep telling yourself that, buddy.

Why would a game for children be competitive?

who gives a shit

its casualized garbage anyway

most competitive games were designed for children

>Melee requires precision
>basically all CRTs are very low lag

>Melee is 4:3
>almost all CRTs are 4:3

>Gamecube outputs either composite, s-video, or component
>CRTs have composite, s-video, and component inputs

what's not to get

For the same reason they play melee.

>IF IT DOESNT TRACK MY MOVEMENTS BY THE NANOSECOND ITS SHIT

CRT and meleefags

Why don't third strike fags and other older fighters need to be played on a CRT?

Melee has inputs for moves that need to be frame-perfect
there are 60 frames per second so 1/60 of a second accuracy for the most advanced moves

There is, but Nintendo screamed loud enough that people are too scared to try it.

yeah no fucking shit, so do most fighting games.

they don't need to be played on a CRT however

>old fighting games don't have frame perfect inputs
>melee is the only game pre-2006 with frame perfect inputs
that's what i'm getting from your post

>not having a crt tv to play 6th-gen and older consoles on
>actually enjoying blurry scaled images

"GOD DAMN I HATE CASUALS"
>people do something non-casual
"Urgh, these filthy loser nerds"

??

its almost as if multiple people use the internet

>sleep fighter v
>8 frames
Defend this.

i can't

Because guess what? LAG and LATENCY!

all games are for children

...

doesn't the ps2 have digital output?
