I like the art, I hope the cutscenes aren't as cringe in this game.

Looks neat, but Lilac's face seems a bit off
I'm sure they will be.
But same as before, classic mode is a thing thank god.
I really hope it's more polished too. The original had...a lot of jank when you wanted to look for it.
Despite the story being cringy as fuck I still enjoyed it enough to think it was worth it.
Mainly because it gives context to a lot of the maginciently evil shit Brevon does inside the last few levels, but it also enhaces the hype of the dragon level and the torture scene managed to be surprisingly not edgy for what it was.
Yeah, but when I can't stand the core heroes that's a problem.
And Brevon isn't in this one, though he was one of the few good things in the story mode i'll admit.
The kindest thing I can say about the story is it emulates exactly what I would expect a mid to late 90's Saturn game dub to sound like...so if that's what they were going for, mission accomplished?
Looks fun, can't wait
Legit hyped.
So are they just gonna scrap all the dlc they promised for the first game?
They pretty much already did, and they offered refunds to those that wanted refunds as an apology.
Lilacs design is better, but it did not translate well to the sprite work.
She looks less like a dragon than she did before.
The sprite work is really pretty but the animation seems to be suffering for it a bit, some of Lilac's movements seemed a little off. Doesn't really matter though because of the pace of the game I guess but still.
Rip the dlc for the first game though, was excited to play as the space duck.
It's possible that they'll improve the animations though but we'll see. I think what it needs the most is more expressions on her face when she says something during gameplay.
Something looks really off to me. But hey, it's still pretty early in progress.
The video looks like a very early build. Some animations obviously aren't synced well enough and there's no post-processing done at all.
How many furry autists is this series combined with the Sonic fanbase going to add to the world?
I don't thing Freedom Planet will add any that Sonic hasn't already.
I remember someone saying something similar about FNAF before it exploded into a display of autism and sterile retard semen.
Still not fully decided as far as I'm aware. One of the possibilities is to have a stand alone simpler game (whatever that means) with all new level design with reused and some new assets, backers would get it for free, the rest of the owners of the original game is a mystery. Like the other user said unhappy backers got a refund already. You can read the full post from Strife here:
Well they left the prince plot thread completely hanging for their DLC with his brother, so i'll be curious to see how that's handled.
Shovel Knight this ain't.
The main reason why they're having so much trouble is because of the engine, hopefully Taxman's Unity engine will prevent setbacks like this from happening with the sequel. Plus it's not like they can't come back to the DLC later on, probably unlikely at this point but not impossible.
Just have to wait and see I guess. I was happy with the content we did get in the first game at least.
Something about this is really off
Work in progress and all that, but I agree.
bump
Do we know what characters are going to be playable?
So far only Lilac, Carol and Milla.
>Burst modes
Literally the only game I'm super hyped for.
fffffffffffffuck I wanna play more Freedom Planet 1
Thermal Base best level and song especially the first stage WHERE YOU CAN SEE INTO THE HUGE ASS OCEAN
FUCK TRHAT WAS GO SOG SO GOOD
How can one be hyped for this and not Sonic Mania as well?
>not being excited for this and Sonic Mania
All we need is a third Sonic clone to complete the trifecta.
Spark would be close, but it feels more Kirby-ish.
Only game I'm more hyped for is Sonic Mania.
It isn't a Sonic clone in the least, but I am fucking pumped for Specter of Torment and the new Monster World and the Dragon's Trap remake.
It is a damn good time to be a fan of 2D platformers.
I like Sonic Mania and I'm going to buy it but I love my drive for Sonic a while ago. The only new features for Mania seems to just be the environments which isn't enough to win me over. (And half of the stages are just going to be remixes of old ones).
Freedom Planet exceeded all my expectations for a Sonic/Sega Genesis game. I expect FP2 to do the same.
Uh hello, the Drop Dash.
I plan on supporting both since Mania and FP is all the same/related talent pool of Sonic fans who actually create stuff.
There seem to be some well done new level gimmicks for the new stages. For me my hype is Specter of Torment>Sonic Mania>Freedom Planet 2, though my potato will probably ensure I need to wait for a console port of Freedom Planet 2.
>though my potato will probably ensure I need to wait for a console port of Freedom Planet 2.
It;s gonna be a 2D Unity game programed by Taxman, so I doubt you'll need a super computer to run it.
It's baaaaaaaad. I can't run Rabi Ribi without a shit ass framerate at times.
I don't know why but felt the cringey story helped it more than hurt the first game. Yeah it was bad but the kind of bad I enjoyed back in the 90's.
I went into the game wanting to just do Classic mode but I gave the story a chance.
I loved it. It was like a Saturday morning cartoon. All the cheesy dialogue and voice acting only added to that feeling.
Eh, it fit what they were going for
...
...
For what looks like a scalie game, it's pretty cute.
We'll be able to turn the voices off, right?
How lewd is it going to be?
Not very.
no
...
...
Cute dragons are not for sexual.
What about dogs and cats?
Why didn't you include this? GET HYPE:
The cringe is what makes the first game good. It's so shitty that it's enjoyable again.
Also from Sonic Retro:
>In the meantime, we'll be sharing gameplay videos of each character, starting with Lilac:
>She isn't too different from her FP1 counterpart, but she has the previously mentioned Boost Breaker and benefits greatly from the new guarding and revival mechanics. She also has access to an optional Wing Glider powerup that increases the power of her Dragon Boost when you double tap the Special button. (I might change it later to give it more utility, such as allowing steering mid-flight.) I also show off a little bit of the new element system, which trades out the Sonic-esque shields in favor of guardian orbs that do the same thing.
>lead characters copyright by [deviant art artist #34221145]
Haha, oh wow. This game give me way worse furfag vibes than the first one. The old designs were cute.
Neat. At least it'll give me a good idea of how this game will run on my POS PC.
In my case, I'll be replaying that demo a hundred times before the full version, just like I did with the first one.
The old designs were by the same person, nothing changed.
For some reason the new sprite reminds me of Bubsy the Bobcat.
I'm excited for more of Lilac being CUTE
>you can now shield attacks
fucking finally. using i-frames from special moves wasn't effective at all as lilac. Just goes to show they're paying attention
They included the shield not to make the game easier but to make the bosses even more intense. Literally says that on the official website.
I didn't say it was gonna make the game easier. Hell, if you can shield attacks that just means they can implement full on screen nukes that require proper timing to avoid. I'm just glad I don't have to rely on moves not at all meant for dodging in the first place
Never implied you did, just wanted to make a point.
so i hear the guy working on Sonic Mania is doing the engine for this game?
what are Freedom Planet fans' general opinion on CodyCoyote64?
Yes.
Ginormous faggot, the rest of Sup Forums should hold the same opinion.
Why is there so little porn of this
maybe...
giant as shit cuck
and he's lurk here, so watch out
How long until we see dark and edgy recolors?
Am i the only here who didnt have a problem with original FP? I dont play sonic thinking of the plot.
>this hamburger is fine as long as you ignore the fact the bun is styrofoam
>what is spade
you can remove the bun, your fat ass doesn't need the carbs anyway.
I liked the cheese of FP's plot the first time and then just played classic for every other playthrough, it was my 2014 GOTY
>Food analogy
>just ignore this bad thing
This game is a food analogy
There's literally a classic mode that removes all the cutscenes.
To put things in a food analogy, which your fatass is only capable of understanding because it can only equate things to food, it's like complaining in a restaurant about there being cheese filled pickles in a burger despite the fact there was a clear option on the menu to just use regular pickles.
I was hoping those concepts would be used for the inevitable sequel.
Goddamn, she's so cute
Well that artist is the main illustrator now, so that counts.
The art style is fantastic but the coloring is very unappealing to me
it's too bright I think
next game
I want to impregnate Lilac!
>5 of those faces on the left are dangerously close to sameface
Game looks fun regardless.
user.. they were the orignal characters from 1...
And their faces were pretty distinct from one another back then.
Whoops. Meant for
user, are you okay?
Nice i wasn't sure about the smoother art but it looks good in motion
they dropped fusion and are using taxman's sanic retro engine now right?
>they dropped fusion
Yes.
>and are using taxman's sanic retro engine now right?
Wrong. Taxman is making a new engine in Unity for FP2 from scratch.
I loved that little easter egg
so they just brought him on as a programmer? and they are using unity
Ye
>aerial uppercut
>jumping out of dragon boost
>blocking
>that pangu remix
Looking good actually
