Blog time. Ornstein and Smough broke me. I dealt with random dragon over the bridge killing me out of no where. Dealt with enemy attacks tracking me when I roll. Dealt with attacks hitting me when they shouldn't have. Dealt with the absurd damage enemies can do while I plink away at them. Dealt with Toxic, Curse, the two arrow guys shooting me to my doom in anor londo. But I just wasn't having fun and the game was making me rage like a motherfucker.
I beat bloodborne and enjoyed it enough, but ebrietas made me break my controller. when I went to gamestop and bought a new one, I beat her, but the feeling of victory didn't offset my feelings of prior rage. I beat bloodborne and decided, fuck it, if I can beat that, I can beat darksouls. yeah this genre just isn't for me. Back to O&S, I actually got to phase 2, activated super O. Was carefully plinking away at him, and what happens? He does that charge attack that has zero tell and one shots me. Takes me from 100% hp to fucking zero in a hit. There just isn't anything to git gud about there. These games are supposedly tough but fair, but that's just bullshit. Can't do it anymore. I fucking cheated and used an infinite hp mod to kill them out of spite, but now I'm done. I don't have the mental capacity to finish this game, nor start over since I cheated.
I've been gaming for 30 years, since atari/nes. beat hard as fuck games like ninja gaiden/castlevania. But this is it. This genre is my limit and I'll never pick up another souls game. Shits not worth the rage and bad moods and breaking stuff. End blog.
Jackson Lee
Alright
Christopher Torres
well. thanks for the post. have a good night.
Kevin Reyes
I dunno what to tell you man. The game is easy compared to older atari/nes bullshit that you've supposedly played. Just abuse dodge and hit them when there's an opening, like 100% of everything else you fight in that game.
Liam Lee
git gud
Asher Peterson
...
Chase Williams
You suck. I'm a casual too and I never even beat any souls game despite playing like three of them.
Just play what you want idiot you don't need to justify yourself to Sup Forums.

Try Lords of the Fallen. It's easier.
Juan Fisher
well if you can't finish dodge simulator without cheating you better not be in one of my teams in any onlinegame.
only children who are new to gaming and absolute gimps can't finish the DS series.
Jaxson Gutierrez
why didn't you finish them? well like I said in my blog, sometimes enemy attacks fucking track you like a magnet, and fucking up just once on o and s is pretty much death. like when he one shot me with the charge attack. shits fucking garbage.
Dylan Stewart
This can't be serious, nobody is this pathetic..right?
Dominic Lopez
>plays online games >calls others children
ok buddy.
Brody Diaz
Same as you. I rage after retrying like 3 times and then decide I'd rather be playing something more casual and easy.
Different strokes for different folks. If you don't like it don't play it ya dingus.
Bentley Murphy

Lincoln Parker
yeah. it gets to the point where the feeling of victory is far overshadowed by the stress and rage. gravity rush just came in the mail, been playing that. relaxing as fuck. after that, gonna play a random crpg. got baldurs gate 2 and pillars of eternity on steam sale.
Cameron Martin
>beat ninja gaiden but can't beat O&S >had trouble with ebrietas
what the fuck
Jason Jackson
hey those nes games were the definition of tough but fair. sure you could cheaply get knocked into a pit (same with dark souls) but NO enemy in the game can fucking one shot you (unlike dark souls).
Chase Hill
You know you can grind, right?
Ryder Collins
Action games don't seem to be your thing OP, which is weird since you talk about beating ninja gaiden and castlevania. Maybe you're slowing down
Benjamin Diaz
>super ornstein
kill ornstein first, second phase Smough is MUCH easier
Benjamin Harris
>breaking a controller from raging at a video game
Not even the souls games (though they pull some bullshit for sure). You're just a manchild, OP.
Who over the age of 13 does this? Besides my flatmate of course.
Andrew Flores
>charge attacks you said it here, unlike your op, he doesn't just do some super move with no tell. He charges up and then you run like hell.
Not gonna lie, I was stuck on O&S for a couple of days and raged like an aspy. But once I beat them the relief and satisfaction were so great I fell in love with the game and series. Don't be a faggot and pretend the game is cheating you. Get back to super O and run when he jumps up to do his shit. Or level up your vitality so you don't get one shot. Your choice
Or be a casual and stop playing. It's scum like you that make EA thrive.
Dylan Wilson
very, very few attacks should kill you in one hit in souls. You shouldn't need to grind either unless you constantly die and lose tons of souls, or go full retard with your stats
Chase Diaz
if you can react quickly enough to beat those games then you can easily avoid super o's charge, or alternatively just kill oreo first
Noah Martinez
>broke a controller over ebrietas >used an infinite HP cheat on thicc and thinn Nothing to see here, folks.
Tyler Sanchez
I fucked up OP, I meant super Smuagh. He's the one that one shot me with the electric hammer charge. I got the names mixed up.
hey I admitted to not having the mental capacity to play this game.
well, I'm turning 36 next month. Most action games aren't anywhere close to as difficult as dark souls though. That's a series that prides itself on being hardcore. Hell the pc version is literally called "prepare to die edition". It's difficulty is part of its marketing. I should have known better, but I figured since I beat bloodborne I could beat darksouls. that was a huge mistake.
Charles Lewis
>That's a series that prides itself on being hardcore. Hell the pc version is literally called "prepare to die edition"
Jonathan Ramirez
>I'm scum for not beating a game that prides itself on being unfairly difficult
Dude I'm talking about Smoughs run forward with hammer out and then scoop attack. that shit literally has no tell. he just runs forward with his hammer out.
Also, vit is my main and highest stat. The amount of damage I'm taking is ridiculous.
Joseph Campbell
It's not a mental capacity thing at this point. Hell I'm not even telling you to bother or not with souls at this point, I don't care, that's your thing.
At 36, if you are able to break a controller from anger at a damn video game, you really should take another look at your lifestyle and personality.
Jeremiah Green
my life has pretty much been a waste. i've wasted it on this hobby. i have zero passion for anything really.
Juan Davis
Chill, man.
You can play Souls some other time. Or never. Go play Gravity Rush.
Enjoy yourself.
Austin Butler
>losing to fucking smough
just stay behind his slow ass. back off when he buttslams. that's literally it.
fuck, if even that is too hard, just use the broken pillars to keep out of range.
use your pussy little cheat to practice
Grayson Brooks
it just sucks since I dedicate so much time to this hobby, it feels like I should be good at any game I play. not finishing this game feels like a failure, but at the same time I was feeling anger far more often than enjoyment, so I guess it's just a waste of time for me personally to play. In any event, I basically ruined my save by cheating on that one boss so I'll likely not continue (I can disable the cheats, but still doesn't feel right playing). I should just delete it from my steam profile and forget all about it.
Alexander Sanders
eh it's too late. these games auto save after everything you do so I'm already passed them.
that is of course, if there's some way to roll back saves on the pc version of dark souls?
Ayden James
>I've been gaming for 30 years That's the problem, user, you're getting old. Reflexes ain't what they used to be
Asher Myers
Honestly you're probably better off being bad at video games. Video games were more fun before I got good at them.
Tyler Bailey
Chill the fuck out.
Start a new save. You'll improve as you play. This shit's just practice.
We all get smoked in games sometimes.
Don't feel bad about your fucking hobby.
Shit's worse if you're raging, by the way. You'll play better if you stay composed.
Ryan Murphy
>my life has pretty much been a waste. i've wasted it on this hobby. i have zero passion for anything really.
Well manchild, that's one thing unfortunately I feel too. Sorry man. Atleast we have video games and beer and drugs?
Jace Reyes
Find your save folder and restore it to a previous version.
Easy as fuck.
Caleb Lee
Beat him on your next playthrough, but if you get to another part that causes you so much frustration then maybe take that as a sign you should be playing easier games user. You don't have to be good to have fun. being good obviously feels good but it isn't a necessity. I enjoyed games more when i was a 10 year old shitter than I do now. Many, many more easy games get made than hard ones. Let us have our souls games and nighmare modes and enjoy the other 95% of games out there.
Colton Myers
fucking this. shit gets boring fast if it's too trivial
Isaac Ortiz
huh. how do I do that?
Ayden Morgan
the easiest way to play all souls games, and this has been true for 1 2 and 3 is to just strip naked so you get the best roll, get your most damaging weapon out, and abusive the fuck out of iframes as you wait for an opening
I feel like once you learn to play them like that the charm and "difficulty" almost instantaneously disspates
Josiah Hernandez
Right click on your save folder. Properties. Should be a tab that says previous versions or some shit.
Chase Perry
hahahahahahahahahahaha
Jaxon Foster
nevermind, figured it out.
Caleb Gray
raging makes you play like a shitter OP, learn to stay calm.
if this is you >die >get mad >get sloppy >die >get madder >get sloppier then take a break before you break another controller
Levi Butler
This guy might be too old and slow for that to work as well
Alexander Baker
This.
Keep your rage to a minimum.
Also, never fucking cheat. Never. No matter how hard it fucking gets.
Shit's always followed by regret.
James Morales
I don't know what to tell you, took me like 10 tries tops super ornstein is the easy one.
Eli Adams
alright, the closest restore point puts me at sens fortress, so basically two whole dungeons behind, but I fucking mastered sens fortress from running it so many times. so not too bad. if I decide to pick the game up again someday, I'm not having to start from scratch. thanks for the tip man.
Christopher Roberts
Thanks OP. I've noticed that my "skill" in games has started diminishing now that I'm getting close to 30, but posts like these make me feel good. While I'm not going to pretend I one shotted O&S, I know they took me less than 10 tries, probably closer to 5.
Grayson Powell
No problem, homie.
Quit feeling like you need to be good at games to justify your hobby.
Jaxson Parker
>turning 36
OP you need to find something that justifies your existence that isn't games. Can I ask you something? Do you feel like you've accomplished enough in your adult life, or has it been wasted away? Talk to me OP.
Kevin Rogers
yeah like another user suggested, I'm just gonna relax for a bit with gravity rush, and some crpgs, then maybe try to tackle this game again (though my clock is fucking ticking and my reflexes and eye sight are only going to get worse).
Adam Ortiz
my best accomplishments are probably just getting married and having a job that pays more than 20 bucks an hour. that's really it. otherwise I feel like if I'm not playing vidya or watching tv, I'm just working to pay bills.
Jonathan Nelson
Enjoy.
Adrian Young
lol can't you grind? or upgrade, or get a faster weapon?
Caleb Martinez
Maybe its time to revitalize your relationship. Either that or seek to accomplish something that aligns with your values and sense of purpose.
Have you gotten to travel? Are you satisfied with your job? I want more for you OP. Getting married is already proof that you can lead a happier life than the average Sup Forums poster.
Oliver Barnes
I wanna go for smough's weapon and armor, rolling with morning star and havel's set, how the fuck do I kill smough on second phase? 1st phase is a piece of cake, with ridicilous poise and phys resistances I just facetank O's blows and whack him while the fatty is struggling at the columns. But once he's down I can't land a hit on smough, because he drains all my vit with his hammer and I'm too slow to hit him after rolling. Yes, I can change gear and weapon, but I'm determined to beat the game with this particular build. Any advice?
