They intentionally lopside balance to keep people discussing and to keep people interested. If you had perfect balance, people would eventually lose interest and stop playing.

Because they don't understand the dos and donts of fpses.

But to buff a hero classed as Support to the point where she's the only viable hp/s and can solo heal the entire team with little effort, as well as shit out 80 damage per hit, deny enemy healing and reliably 1v1 any other hero in the game. Her ult is the only thing not broken about her.

Surely any normal person would see this as stupidly OP?

It's not blizzards fault. Western gamers just simply don't know how to adapt. Any character they personally have trouble with need to be nerfed. I mean for God's sake, they just mad symmetra barely viable and fags are already crying for nerfs.
I'd rather have a game filled with OP characters instead of crippled characters like sombra and symmetra pre-buff.

Outside of the tank/support problem of Mercy being too shit and Lucio/Ana being too good, and Tanks having too good of ults plus high health pools, and having good damage not really proportional to their health compared to DPS which do same damage but at much less HP. A huge problem of the game is Defense heroes have NO identity.

Like, how do you make Snipers in this game a thing? Or stationary defense heroes like Torb and Bastion a thing? Its a surprise factor with these two and maybe a good team can shift focus off a Torb turret, but otherwise these 4 defense heroes are so fucking bad.

Lucio just speed boosts with 2-3 shield users and D'Va absorbs literally everything. Like, okay now her ult not only doesn't kill her but her defense matrix is the most broken ability in the game

warriors were shit at some point in wotlk because of crappy rage generation. 6 months of complaining later blizz buffed rage generation in a patch that also introduced new tier and trinkets that heavily boosted rage generation and dmg. so those fucks accidentally double buffed warriors and destroyed the balance again.

I play a lot of Symmetra and she's definitely not super OP. She's great at nuking teams that aren't communicating well and/or haven't played against her much, but that's about it.

Blizzard never balances characters/classes/specs assuming that people are capable of playing at the top percentile. They assume that if a rotation needs to be played with little to no errors or requires landing a lot of shots accurately that no player can do that. Then the players do and Blizzard flips shit.

Look at how Rogues have been at certain points in WoW's history or PvE Shadow Priests in Legion RIGHT NOW.

The real issue with Symmetra is that nobody seems to be treating her as seriously as she needs to be. Now, when you see a Sym, you need to get the fuck away from her and target her down. At the moment I think the only change Blizzard needs to make is add voicelines for when she has a shield gen up, like they do with teles. It's really easy to miss and sometimes I feel like I'm the only one hunting them down.

Other than that, people need to actually change how they play before nerfs and buffs need to be considered.

She was fine before, but idiots screamed "NOOOOOOOOOO SHE NEEDS TO DO DAMAGE I WANT HER TO BE A TANK AND DO A BILLION DAMAGE" and ruined her.

I love Ana character and gameplay wise, but yeah she is kind of a problem right now. If they nerf her should would be completely useless, and it would be a problem if they buffed the other supports cause it would reinforce the tank meta.

The problem with the game isn't Ana it's blizzard designing tanks to do 90% of an offenses damage with 400% the defenses but it's balanced because their hitbox is big.

Her buff to the radius of her grenade was compelled unnecessarily are largely a part of the problem now. It's too easy to land now and that's what fuels Ana's bullshit. But yes Tanks, save Rein and Winston, are complete stupid and need to do less damage overall

My main, Reaper, is probably the only character who has never been touched once in the game because they got him right, the first time, providing someone takes care of D.VA then I'm pretty good to go.
