I don't think you played the first Nier, because the combat in that game was ass. The only redeeming quality in the game was it's story, and music. The graphics looked like dick, and the combat was just mediocre. Just like the Drakengard games. At least the combat in this one was actually pretty enjoyable.

Came here to post this, based on the demo this might not be their best game as far as combat goes but this will be the best combat a Yoko Taro game will ever have, and that alone is enough for me.
