I think that's a big problem with Dangan Ronpa. No one cares if you kill off losers, so the losers survive and the more interesting characters die, so you end up with survivors like Donut Girl, Meat Girl and Soda.

Meanwhile Soda is still alive to go all "muh sonia" for the last trial because he is too uninteresting for anybody to axe him off.
