How do we make video games niche again?
How do we make video games niche again?
We just focus on the niche video games again.
Kill all the feminists who bully developers and try to dumb games down for the rest of the world
We cannot.
Normies who are vastly more easy to pander to with more disposable income > picky neckbeard shutins who pirate everything.
You don't matter to devs anymore. Deal with it or move on.
This is the only answer that matters.
Focus on niche titles that succeed in hitting that sweet spot and don't really pander to other people's fuckery.
Then make your own.
Kill everyone that isn't a white Aryan American protestant alt-right middle class or higher straight Trump supporter nationalist fascist capitalist male.
That will solve all the world's problems
Games overall were never niche but even if they were why the fuck would you care? Niche games exist, communities dedicated to those niche games exist, people will always discover niche games and make more niche games themselves.
You can't. Even Soulsborne games are normie games. The only games that are still niche are grand strategy games.
Don't let normies touch it.
Don't ask for a big budget.
You became part of the problem when you bought an 8th gen console.

>The only games that are still niche are grand strategy games
What are you talking about, there's a lot of niche genres out there and there are a lot of niche games that fall within popular genres
there are a lot of options, most of them are impossible
there's only one thing we could potentially do: kill consoles. promote the agenda of the "PC master race" if you have to. PCs cost too much for ordinary casuals, so they would sooner buy mobile phone games than attempt to get into that.
Last time Sup Forums did that Minecraft happened.
Never again.

I know you are baiting, but you aren't incorrect.
>How do we crash an industry
HMMMMMMM
>Even Soulsborne games are normie games
If by normie you mean not garbage then yes
They probably won't be entirely niche until some other form of media supersedes and obviates it similar to what film did to plays. But, it doesn't matter unless you're a Kevin Chang type asshole. The whole point of a niche is that you have your own little corner and it doesn't really matter what's happening outside of it. And, right now, there are as many quality niche titles as ever.
Games have never been niche in your lifetime.
Video games have never been niche. Certain genres yes, but arcades were huge once upon a time and after them home consoles continued to be incredibly popular. Games like Super Mario Bros and Pokemon have sold millions upon millions of copies
We don't need to make them niche, they just need to be challenging again. If you convince a normie to play Dark Souls because "u gotta try dis its so hard XD", they will enjoy the game.
I don't understand why devs cater to these people. They will play literally anything with a marketing campaign behind it.
