>It gets good 12 hours in
It gets good 12 hours in
If you can't sit through 12 hours of gameplay, maybe candy crush is more your style.
Fuck off ADHD kid.
FM4.
Depends on what game. If it's a game that is 100+hours long then that's fine.
>make it to 12 hours
>its fun
hello binding of isaac
Is this a Kingdom Hearts thread? Pooh + Boredom can't be much else.
>Playing a game you don't enjoy for 12 hours
>game frontloads all the fun stuff and the rest is shit
Yeah you're right, you're part of the instant gratification generation.
Why wait for things when you can have it NOW??
If a game isn't immediately fun in the first 2 seconds, it's utter shit.
Nevermind that multi-hour games have gameplay mechanics that are more complex than dragging your finger on the screen and tapping the "BUY MORE CRYSTALS" button.
>it gets good if you play it 5 hours a day
>do anything but play video games? what are you casual?
>it gets good 21 years in
I got banned from a discord group once because the admin found out I wasn't a filthy neet like them.
>Wanting to play a good game is "intant gratification"
I've been here for too long.
>game has intro for longer than 5 minutes
who the fuck cares nigga just let me play
>If a game isn't immediately fun in the first 2 seconds, it's utter shit.
That's actually true. Even Game Designers 20 years ago knew that the first 30 minutes of gameplay were the most important part in the game because they decide if a player wants to play till the end or not.
>Unskippable credits
>Unskippable intro
>Unskippable, unpausable cutscenes
>Unskippable end credits
...
JRPG general?
>Final Fantasy 13
FF13 got good after the end credits when switched out for something else
The magic number should be 2-3 hours, maybe more, give or take. That's a good number to get into the groove.
No, the "magic number" should be from the start. If a game has good gameplay, the gameplay is good from the start and then it's a good game. "Gameplay" doesn't get better, even if the "story" does, and gameplay is what a game consists of, not the story.
...
The first few hours are neccesary to get into a proper groove.
If you are introduced to strange mechanics that don't seem to be much at a first glance, and require you to get into the feel of them, it will take a while to get shit going.
Right from the start unfamiliar mechanics might be a bit weird, and might need getting used to. Going by your judgement, you unfairy shove a lot of good and expansive games to the side, simply because it takes a bit of prep to really get everything running smoothly/you need to learn how shit works. See: Morrowind.
Now, this all depends on the game you are playing. Arguably, if you are playing an old school platformer, they should teach these mechanics early and quick, since the way the game works is rather quick paced. See: Shovel Knight
I can agree when it comes to shit like FTL and Darkest Dungeon, where it's less gameplay and more minmaxing the ability to abuse the RNG in your favor.
12 hours, user. Half a living day's worth of gameplay just to get to the 'fun' part. That's like someone saying a movie becomes enjoyable to watch at the one hour mark. What's the fucking point? There isn't one, unless you're a sperg who has time not just to kill, but to fucking slaughter.
>Half a living day's worth of gameplay just to get to the 'fun' part
but your time is completely worthless so why are you complaining
Sup Forums is the only place i know that can play a game they don't enjoy...
FOR TWELVE HOURS
>I am almost enjoying my anger
There's not a single good game that's over 12 hours long anyway.
