Her first supernatural experience in this new series in on Yamatai, no mention of the crazy shit she did with Von Croy when she was still a kid. This new Ana character we are supposed to care for, and her father's supposed defacement and 'suicide'? Hogwash.

Just finished it, is was okay. Got closer to the feeling I got when playing the older games. Time to go back to the beginning with Anniversary.

>Sup Forums will openly discuss movie games as long as they get a PC release as well and shitpost every other movie game to death

New Laura looks like a fucking grandma anyway.

>Laura

So, what games do you enjoy user?

>Sup Forums openly discusses Tomb Raider which has been a PC game since the dawn of time

It's a fucking reboot you stupid shit, not a prequel.

Of course it's an alternate timeline.

I fail to see the problem, it is what it says on the collection in the middle, right, riiiiight? This gem was sold openly in my country.

welldatsdum

>Lara

My theory is that it's a completely unrelated game they decided to re-title it. If the game was called literally anything else, I would've just thought it was mediocre, but the fact that they called it Tomb Raider and raped a franchise is irredeemable.

>mfw the AoD model fits better than the actual one

holy fuck...

>Is this the only explanation Sup Forums?
It's a reboot. Do you know what a reboot is?

I would enjoy this game an immense amount more with a model, lines and an attitude worthy of Lara.

reboot means rape in franchise-talk, right?

They did it right with Legend and Underworld

Why'd they have to DMC it

>horse fucker thread

It's a reboot, it's unrelated to her former story. Yamatai was the young adventure that lead made her the "lara" we know, instead of von croy training on the first timeline, or nepal aircrash with momma on the legend timeline.

here we go

Don't remind me...

At least the mother is still dead.

>Underworld
> Right
No. So fucking no.
That game is AoD level of poor execution and sleezy finishing.

I don't normally like reboots either and yes, it rapes everything that was before, in a way. The old games stand by themselves but for a fan of them it must feel like shit that they are no longer part of the ongoing canon.

Wait, I'm not updated to this meme. What is it?

At least the series get to be alive... A new tomb raider is better than no tomb raider at all, even if the games are drastically different from their origin... As long as they are, still, good games.

who the fuck is Laura?

Which of her timelines is the one where she fucks horses?

I enjoyed it, then again I also enjoyed AoD. When There was no huge bug in the way of progressing, or textures missing causing me to fall out of the game, or eyes where heads should be, or a piece of debris that should not be there halting all progress... man, how did I ever finish AoD...

The highest canon one

see
I guess you are right.

She had to change her name after her mischief with the horse became public.

>2
>Episode 3

Do you understand how seasons work?

Its a third episode in the second series.

Is this really so far beyond your comprehension?

Don't laugh at Gaben

>original RE 4 Port by Ubishit

You poor sod

>Horseporns needs multiple episodes and seasons
Kek. I bet it also has a plot and everything. Seeing her as a kid on the ranch finding herself staring at horsecocks and finally acting on it years later?

Ey, when you know no better you are happy with what you got. Also played Dark Souls 1 on PC with mouse and keyboard. When you want to play something you adapt.

>Needs
Guy made it like that, doesn't need it but it was his choice.
Why the fuck is this even a question? You're the retard who didn't know what series 2 episode 3 meant, you really thing you have right to judge or question anything?

I'm not..
What is this horse fucking meme?

>Also played Dark Souls 1 on PC with mouse and keyboard.
Holy shit, how?
I had to play 3 with kb+m for 2 weeks and it was hell, even though they improved the controls a lot.

Stubbs the zombie, I love that game but my niece broke my cd.

youtube.com/watch?v=j_RHPKM2V_Q

Who is best live-action Croft?

>laura
americans go to sleep

I...
I had no idea that pic existed
Do you think she did it at least once?

desu that's what I find so hilarious myself. Its a series where lara fucks horses (and probably dies at the end) and there multiple incarnations of it.

>Stubbs the zombie, I love that game but my niece broke my cd.
Time to break your niece in return.

Does that mean "Lara with horses 2" is based on a real story?

Really makes you think...

Why the fuck isn't Stubbs on Steam? Loved that game on original Xbox.

If she hasn't died yet, nothing will kill her. If I remember correctly, she gets full on impaled in the most recent one. Like the cock comes out of her mouth.

>anniversary
>beginning

the PS360 games fucked up the timeline just as much as 2013. This is the manual to the original game. Anyone who shits on 2013 but loves anniversary is underage and a hypocrite. PS1 Tomb Raider was far superior in terms of gameplay too.

it was on steam same with The Movies but it was removed many years ago

What name did you give to Dark Souls 3?

Sadomasochistic something

I actually thought she died in the previous one after the fountain.

lots and lots of practice really. Playing it again now and I still do not understand how I brought myself to complete it twice.

>see

Even the original team changed details on that background story two times. First to make she 16 when the accident happened and not making her father disown her. Second, to put von croy on the story and make her an orphan.
Crystal dinamics changed it drastically too, but tried to keep the plot line "aristocratic little maiden gets psychology fucked up after accident and now has a death wish for adventures", plus adding a family drama similar to the movies, father was also an explorer and she's fighting to find out what happened to mother. That "ghost of the past" plot is, on my opinion, their greatest mistake.
The new timeline also keeps the same "accident changed little aristocratic lady into adventurer", this time showing which and what accident was that (Yamatai island shit). Unfortunately they didn't learn with their mistakes and is once again dealing with ghosts of her past, this time, her father's work and a conspiracy involving an evil corporation called Trinity. Bad dramatic choices if you ask me. Really bad way to make new villains. But let's hope for the best.
So the reboot is not that far from canon if you stop to think about it.

you're getting buttblasted about someone laughing at fanmade lara croft bestiality porn. just think about that for a second. then hang yourself.

I like your knowledge. Have an internet.

Sadomasochism Inc.

I give all my games dumb names.

Tell us others. I like it.

>Stubbs the Zombie
You fucking faggot, i hate you.
Nice catch.

Binding of Isaac = Whining babies
Reccetear = Capitalism, HO!
Grim Dawn = Shooty shooty stab stab
Path of Exile = Dance Party, Wraeclast Edition
System Shock 2 = Windows Vista
Darkest Dungeon = Sadness and Madness
Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes = Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes
Deus Ex = You asked for it.

Those are the ones I have installed atm.

Weeb autist

I teach autistic children. So, yeah.

>This new Ana character we are supposed to care for
Nah, not really. I mean... did you actually play it?

But generally: It's a reboot. They're doing a different story from the ground up with only the core ideas kept. Consider it an alternative timeline or whatever, but that's how reboots work. You don't tell the same story again: That's a remake.

What's to note is their insistence on realism for some reason. They're trying to deconstruct the series and I'm not yet sure it works.

I just hope in the third entry they won't make the same game a third time. Please not another game about getting stranded in the wilderness, securing survival, fighting goons looking to secure a supernatural power source, discovering the "sad truth" behind the power source, having to face an immortal undead army powered by it, and having to fight the religiously motivated villain in the end.

She was portrayed in the beginning as a good person and then when the dramatic reveal came that she was a traitor I think they actually meant for you to feel something at least.

I totally agree on the last part though, it is getting old. We need another Dragon Dagger or Scion

I'm pretty sure they will follow that exact formula, user. It's a trilogy after all.
It's interesting how they are indeed trying to keep supernatural shit at a minimum level. We only get small hints of anything otherworldly and a magical element in the climax.

>Dragon Dagger
2 was the best game by far. How Id love a 1:1 remake of it like anniversary

If they'd need crowdfunding to do a remake I would throw and obcene amount of money against it.

>caring about canon
Obsessions about what is and isn't canon is the cancer killing all forms of story telling.

"Surviving" is a core element of the reboot, so you should expect a similar begining at least.
> Shit happens
> Lara is cold, hurt, disarmed and alone
> Just kidding, you made a bow with sticks, go kill a bear
It's not necessarily bad, but it should be something that follows the entire game, not only the beginning.
The new game should be a survivor one. That is, scarcity of resources above all. Health doesn't regenerate, you're always on the verge of death, low on supplies, low of munition, low on health, all the times, always on the edge...
The beginning looks like it will be like that, but suddenly we got guns and it becomes a cover shooter with pkenty of guns and no care about health at all since you recover in a matter of seconds.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining aimlessly. I liked the game. It's just that they got so close to something better...

that is bullshit and you know it, you'd need continuity at least.

also, the other weapons were useless as fuck. Never used the pistol or the shotgun. Only used the rifle for the bombs and the debris.

Story is the least important aspect of a video game, canon is even less important.
Only retards and Hollywood rejects disagree.

Why?? Why on earth?
Anniversary was a delight for any fan. A huge amount of fidelity on almost all settings, improved precisely what needed improvement, almost no flaw at all.
You can't be a tomb raider fan that played 1 during childhood and disliked anniversary. It's impossible.

I would throw the money towards the development, dude. Throw it against the project, like stacks of money against my screen.

I absolutely adored anniversary. I even have the two huge art of tomb raider books.

Oh sorry you said against it confused me. I'm not a native English speaker

>She was portrayed in the beginning as a good person and then when the dramatic reveal came that she was a traitor I think they actually meant for you to feel something at least.
Well, it was... kind of unexpected at least. For all of five seconds. I didn't care about her, though. I think you're supposed to care about the impact it has on Lara, not about Ana. Not like she matters in the long run.
> I'm pretty sure they will follow that exact formula, user. It's a trilogy after all.
Goddamnit.
> It's interesting how they are indeed trying to keep supernatural shit at a minimum level.
It's not just that - it's also the impact of how the world reacts to the suggestion of the supernatural. The old games wouldn't have brought up tabloids shittalking her.
> "Surviving" is a core element of the reboot, so you should expect a similar begining at least.
If it happens again, I hope it's not due to critical failures on Lara's and Jonah's part, like in Rise. Someone should've bitchslapped them the moment they wanted to leave camp, very much underequipped to boot. Two people not used to the area heading into the siberian wilderness alone and unarmed? That's fucking crazy.
> The new game should be a survivor one. That is, scarcity of resources above all.
Please, no. That's not Tomb Raider at all. That's literally never been Tomb Raider. There's other series for that.

>new game in series comes out
>it is sort of a prequel but reimagining but everything is still canon guys!
>sequel comes out
>okay yeah we are a new timeline now
Pretty much how it always goes

Is Underworld worth picking up on Steam?
I remember pirating it and playing some of the first levels when it was new but I don't remember shit about it

Pretty just like how am playing rise of the tomb raider. The ars and smgs are the only sensible weapons to use when going against humans and wolves.

>baba yaga is the best part of the game
>it's only two hours long

It's okay. For the old reboot I'd say it's Anniversary > Legend > Underworld.

It's kind of sad to see the pistol nerfed like that. In 2013, it was really good.

it is cool man, we share the love

Tabloids

Heck, at the beginning scene of the first one she was on the cover, saying she caught bigfoot. Lara was Boss

>That's not Tomb Raider
That's very much Tomb raider. Ps1 tomb raider was no "free bullets for everyone" or "take whatever you can carry". I remember very well having to watch carefully for my ammo, otherwise I'd run out of it. Yes we had the infinity pistols, but still...
Health packs were never anywhere near abundant. I had to restart tomb raider 2 because I was too low on health packs to actually survive any longer. I remember being desperately in need of a "finished level" screen, because Everytime you started a new level your health bar got replenished. Tomb raider was not necessarily easy combat/survivor wise. Sure you can find a speedrun of someone who finished it without a single health pack used, but that's not the majority of players.
There's no way to make a game hard if supplies are abundant. Not a game like tomb raider at least. And since legend that has been the major failure of newer TR games. They are fuck ass easy. Really easy. Reaaaaaally easy. How couldn't they be? Bullets arefor free. Health is not a problem, especially now since it regenerates automatically in 4 seconds.
Challenge and difficult are essential for any quality game. Ease and comfort are detrimental to it. And as long as bullets and health are not scarce, neo tomb raider will keep being a easy ass game, and easy ass games are not great games. They are ok at most. "Fun". But not great.

listen to this user, I had tons of fun playing it.

It's not great, it's ok... It has nice moments. Combat is horrid and script is amateur tier, but I guess you don't really care for the story. It's the worst part of it... So go for it.

Enjoyed every part of it until the end phase of the boss. The ai just got too aggressive for no reason. Strange set of events that kept me interested till the very end.

my niggas

All you just told me is that you sucked at the game because preteen me played them just fine and wasn't concerned about ammo.

Not necessarily.
Deus Ex could seriously use a reboot, trying to uncover the conspiracies already uncovered in the original game is silly

I only use Bow and sometimes Pistol, Shotgun if armored soldiers come really close.

If they come close to you (as opposed to you coming close to them) you usually already failed pretty hard.

I think the end boss was too easy to kill, just climb upon the structure nearby and use that to confuse him until you get the opportunity to strike 3-4 times and the he's dead, I expected more from the franchise that threw me into a battle with a t-rex a few hours in.

The real endboss fight was against the chopper. The "fight" against constantine was just making sure he's dead, much like the "fight" against mathias.

I bought the Definitive Edition on the PS4 sales and every 2 steps I get an achievement. Is there a way to turn these? It ruins the entire atmosphere.
