FFVIII REMAKE?

Do you think/is there anything hinting at the fact they'll remake FF8 and even FF9 after they remake FF7?

Nah. FF6's the most well liked one after 7, it'll be 6 next. 8 isn't as well liked as either. 9's kind of a throwback game, I think they'd just do a new mainline FF in a throwback type style rather than remake 9.

I want Final Fantasy VIII-2 where Hyne returns to the world as the big bad and you are a new generation of SEEDS.

FF8/9 don´t need remake, just fix the battles (make the attack animation faster) and perhaps update the models, but they don´t need a free camera nor anything like that.

The PC version of FF9 is the remaster. it has re-done HD models and improvements.

Well, I dont want to get into any in depth argument as to why this is bullshit, so I'll just state the following and go

Because 5 and 6 are shit. Sup Forums only loves 6 because of Celes and that shitty meme, "hurr I love how they can tell a story while managing so many different people at once!"

8 has more potential with a remake, though. 6 is amazing for how it is, but 8 could vastly improve with a remake. A remake of 6 wouldn't do as much to better the overall concept.

I really dislike the idea of completely remaking those ps1 era titles.

At most what they would benefit from is re-done HD versions of those pre-rendered backgrounds and stuff like re-done overworld models in 7. One of the biggest flaws in 7 is the lack of analogue movement and having to hold down a button to run, yet the PC version fixes that. 8 and 9 still have really slow battles, so just speeding up some of the delay in executing actions would go a long way. 8 could obviously use some massive rebalancing and proper design of its systems. It really felt like they needed at least 1 more year when developing it. It's biggest problem is that despite how complex and how much you need to do to make the junction system work, it's not a system with any real depth to it. Junction the highest curative magic to HP, highest dmg magic to STR, meltdown to VIT etc. There are no actual choices in 8's system.

You could also argue all of the games could benefit from hard/challenge modes with some little extra fun stuff like a boss rush thing. While some story elements in those games could or should be changed, I think for the most part it's better to leave that potential can of worms alone, even if 8 could really, REALLY use it.

But the crucial thing is that all of that doesn't really change the core nature of those games. Something like FF7R is a massive overhaul and not really something that is really needed. It's a giant waste of time and money.
