Once I heard him say that they need hundreds of hours to make trailers because the game wouldn't generate what they wanted to show I knew what would happen.

No way he ever said this, plus there's no way it would be necessary. They just pre-baked the planets by manually tweaking values for the trailers to make them look better.

I remember hearing that he also said that, in order to have a skybox of different color, they asked programmers to rework the in-game periodic table or something ridiculous like that. Never cared to confirm that, but he said and shown enough bullshit to expect the obvious crapshoot:

I got it for a Christmas gift and honestly I been having fun. I don't know why people wanted to overhype this thing so badly. Anyone that fell for shallow marketing and feels burnt should take the opportunity to learn from their mistakes.

The end result is just fucking terrible though. The progression is inventory slots. Which means Progression = Convenience
