What the fuck is up with the drastic quality drop in the 2nd half of this game? The first half was pretty good but the second one is hot garbage.

Nah, you're just a gay.

wrong pic?

what do you consider 2nd half of the game?

Yahar'gul, Byrgenwerth, and Mensis were hot garbage.

>Mensis

Bas b8

Best game level in BB

majestic

Byrgenwerth is like the ending of the first half man. Rom's the first boss that isn't even close to humanoid

>8 mandatory bosses
>5th boss end of first half

Fromsoft has correctly realised that only about half their players even get to the end of the game so they frontload the goodness

>no Pro support
What the fuck, Sony? Isn't this a first-party title?

Rom's the 4th breh
You don't have to fight the Cleric Beast

If you don't fight Cleric then you need to fight BSB.

Dont be a faggot, everyone fights cleric beast

JHJHJH

never ever ps4 pro keks!

The only place I don't like is the nightmare frontier but the second half of BB is great.
Do you not just like cosmic horror?

wait wtf did Hiroshima bring (you)'s back

Supposedly Sony don't want multiplayer games being patched to stop pro owners having an advantage.
Which is bullshit because the game is mostly single player with co-op outside of fight clubs.

>not liking ayyy lmao's

>drop in quality in the 2nd half

You mean an up in quality? Or did you confuse DaS1 with BB

2nd half took me by surprise. Didn't know much about BB, didn't even know it was a FromS game till I bought it. Bought it thinking it was just a werewolf hunting game cause of that one trailer from e3 2013. Then it goes full on Lovecraft/horror.

This game was just a package of surprises for me.

This pretty much.
They kept the cosmic shit a secret throughout all the trailers and hype, picking this game up day 1 after avoiding spoilers was a real pleasant surprise.

Yeah what, you didn't notice yesterday? Fucking casual.

All three of those levels were absolutely fucking god tier from an artistic standpoint. What didn't you like? Micolash was my least favorite boss but aside from that, I don't know what your problem is nigger.

I think they should have made Micolash a pvp boss like the old monk from Demon Souls.

I liked micolash's concept, a mindfuck of a boss, but they shouldve executed it in a much better way; and you know, give him more lines then just spouting his autismo le ebin mad man shit over and over.

>They kept the cosmic shit a secret throughout all the trailers and hype
>kept secret
>literally in the first gameplay trailer shown

You don't deserve (You)s.

yeah, well as important in the lore as Byrgenwerth was, it seemed a little glossed over in game. It was just a small two story building with a hunter, a non functional trap door, and a balcony with arguably the most story-important NPC

I do wish it had been a lot bigger. I'll give you that. It was a beautiful area, though.

What? No you don't.

The problem is Bloodborne, unlike its previous iteration games, is VERY much tied to progression.

You can't say in Bloodborne like you can in Dark Souls that levels don't matter. They absolutely do thanks to Chalice Dungeons and item/damage/defense scaling.

This means harder times early on and easier times later on.

You can fight Cleric , unlocking the Hunter Chief Emblem, or you can kill BSB, unlocking the Church Workshop. There is no other way to Amelia.

The same thing that happens with all of their games, as much as I love all the Souls and Bloodborne they've never made one that kept consistent quality throughout. Thankfully like DaS it received a godtier DLC that makes repeat playthroughs not a complete drag later.

I feel like people don't come down as hard on Bloodborne's final levels just because when it comes to the "atmosphere" they're so much better, whereas shit like Izalith just had you running around these ruins with blinding fucking lava.

Fighting BSB opens the elevator to the healing church workshop and allows entrance past the gate to Amelia. Fighting cleric beast let's you buy the chief hunter badge and open the gate to Amelia. If you don't fight one or the other, without glitches, there is no way to get to Amelia.

How the fuck do you not fight Cleric Beast though?

Doing my first playthrough currently, and I'm wondering at what point should I start doing the Old Hunters DLC?

Just before the final boss, it's end-game content.

BLOODBORNE 2 WHEN REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

literally the only game i have enjoyed playing these past 5 years. I need more.

It's late game shit. There's no specific point but you want to be pretty high level.

Well considering his bridge is a dead end, and the path to Gascoigne is the complete opposite way, it's pretty easy to just avoid him.

I love this meme.
I love how retards are trying to use DS1 thing as it was something universal for From games.

around level 70. Pretty much endgame

>REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
reddit

Thanks

At the end.
But if you are good earlier.

Immediately after Amelia. It'll be hard, but isn't that the point? It's more fun imo and you get rewarded pretty nicely for your effort.

>his bridge is a dead end
I think my memory of the layout of this area must be fucked somehow then. Shit.

Yeah. It's a shame though because during development, the door behind him was supposed to lead to the cathedral ward behind the ball and chain giant, but hardware limitations prevented that.

>It's an Undead Giant w/ hook and club hits phase 2 Episode

>mfw the fucking chains on its back

this

>but hardware limitations prevented that

But that area is still behind the door, you just can't open it.

yahargul maybe
byrgenwerth should have been bigger

What OP means to say is

>I'm an assblasted PC mustachio race who has never played the greatest game of all time

Because BB is literally perfect in every possible way.

Byrgenweth and Cainhurst were too short

Yahargul was alright, especially red moon phase

Nightmare Frontier would've been better as another endgame area instead of just being neither here or there.

>Cainhurst

Cainhurst should have had a fucking dracula boss

No it shouldn't have, you dumb fuck.

Wrong

The fact that Cainhurst only had one boss was pretty disappointing, even if it wasn't a mandatory area. You should've been able to team up with the batshit insane church guy and fought the queen as an immortal puzzle boss. Regens all damage not taken from fire, or something like that.

It would've been great to expand on the Vileblood Queen and her links between Maria and the prostitute, maybe a dlc revolving around the executioners and Vileblood hunt, a nightmare of Logarius.

You need to farm more blood vials and ritual bloods before you can post this meme : ^)

>Needing to farm for health
>Needing to farm for Ritual Blood

>farm more blood vials
Speaking of memes, is this a meme? Bloodborne was my first Souls game so I died left and fucking right all over the place but I always had plenty of vials in storage at all times. How badly do you have to suck for this to be an issue?

Pretending you did not have to is absolutely a meme

I'm not pretending I didn't die a shitload so why would I lie about vials? There's a total surplus of those fucking things if you're anywhere past the first 30 minutes of play.

tru

>defending garbage like Micolash
Bloodborne defense force is busy today I see.

Nah fuck off, the meme is saying that you DIDN'T had to farm for BV, it's part of the game

>"Im so gooooood I don't waste BVs like you scrubs xD!"

I'm pretty certain I'm the one being memed on here.

depends what weapon you use
hunter axe has the highest rally potential in the game and if you play well with that, you won't use many blood vials at all

This.

It's the one inescapable game destroying flaw of Bloodborne that will NEVER EVER make it better than Dark Souls, the superior Multiplat.

It doesn't matter how much rally potential there is in the weapon, you're still gonna get hit more than 1 consecutive so you'll lose all of the rally

>healing
>getting hit
>levelling up
>using weapons
Why don't you fucking git gud?

How the hell did you not know it was a Fromsoft game? Or at least heavily inspired from the souls series?

I did use the axe, yes. Maybe that's it.

the entire game is too easy, spam r1 and win, I didn't notice a decline in quality, second half has way more varied areas than just city, also less flailing beast bosses. Level design got worse though now that I think about it, and the game feels super short if you don't count all the bonus areas which hurts the second half

Seriously? I got the plat for it in roughly 50 hours, literally the only boss in the whole game that took me more than 5 attemps was OoK so it was all around the easiest game in the series for me by a mile and I still had to take a break every 2-3 levels to head back to Central Yharnam and farm blood vials. I ran completely out of them at least 5 times during my first playthrough although chalice dungeons towards the end of it left me with enough leftover echoes after getting to my desired stats to completely max out my vials/bullets which was a relief.

Vials are so easy to acquire, I don't know why the fuck they didn't just make it like Souls and give you 20 automatically every time you returned to the Hunter's Dream or something. Picking up vials mid level to replenish your stock is fine and they could've kept that mechanic in place without making them a finite resource despite them being piss easy to stock up on but I'm pretty sure I had close to 100 stashed before I even set foot in the Cathedral Ward since I realized they were easy as hell to farm and I didn't want to worry about them later on so I'm not sure what they were trying to accomplish by limiting them.

>getting hit more than once

Nightmare of Mensis was amazing. I really liked those little oompa loompa guys plodding around Mergo's loft, and crossing the gauntlet of giant spiders to fight that hunter on the moonlit bridge; also the birdcage elevators and secret areas, etc

The final boss was arguably the best boss, and the DLC (which is probably the best area) should be played during the second half of the game if you're not a tryhard.

t. I never played BB crowd

>I got the plat for it in roughly 50 hours
Prove it. You can't.

Yeah I don't know man that's weird that you ran out of vials and I didn't, but I agree with you about there being no point to that. I thought having to repair equipment was similarly pointless. It was a minor annoyance that didn't add anything to gameplay.

Byrgenwerth sucks. Yahargul, Mensis and Upper Cathedral Ward are awesome.

This is just sad whether it's bait or not.

>it's an undead giant is a regular mob episode
I just got to a level in pthumeru ithyll root chalice where there is an undead giant mob with 2 sickles and another undead giant mob with a cannon and a sicke. I killed the one with just the sickles, but the one with the cannon is surrounded by dogs and grave guards with rifles and he is impossible to fight

what, my post was defending Bloodbornes second half while acknowledging that overall the game was a bit too easy and short. Didn't you think it was a bit too easy?

Do you say Bob's Burgers sucks because it's short? Or did you genuinely not like the area?

Upper Cathedral Ward was my least favorite of the ones you listed but it was still good.

>Hahah anyone who complains about BB is a Pcuck
>i have the game
>POST PROOF, TIMESTAMP AND YOUR PLATINUM REEEEEEEEEEEE

>Didn't you think it was a bit too easy?

the difficulty is just right

The bloovialfags I'd almost believe with rally weapons and dodge autism, but telling me you never had to farm ritual or fetid items from chalices is complete horseshit.

Basically yes, Byrgenwerth was hyped way too much for how small it is, level design is very basic as well, I liked the encounter with the Choir member and Rom boss fight though (soundtrack was good, arena was cool). Research hall felt like how I wish byrgenwerth was with the spiral stair cases and cool vertical design.

The first playthrough, or maybe as a warmup. There's no reason to bother going that way at all otherwise.

and I know Upper Cathedral Ward is small but its atmosphere is off the charts, the music, the werewolves crashing the chandeliers, the noises from the brainsuckers, and the Ebrietas fight is one of the best from vanilla bloodborne.

If you follow the guide from /vg/ you only ever need to farm some rarity of blood, and thats like 2 units.
and the "farm" is you killing a respawning enemy 20 meters from the lamp, that drops it frequently

wew.

You're welcome.

>you don't need to farm, you just need to farm
lmao

I got as far as just before the second half, having got the game at Christmas, if it only gets worse at this point I'm glad I decided to drop it

Worst from game I've played. Most disappointing title in recent memory for me. That's what i get for listening to Sup Forums

>missing out on Sword Hunter's Badge so you can't buy Hunter's Marks and Antidotes

whats it like bein a retard?

I love how people nag on and on about blood vial "farming" when its clearly a skill based thing.

Some of us, if not most, played all of the souls games before BB and thus never got ourselves in such a massive trouble that we needed to farm healing items.

But sure, some of you had to I guess. Its still infinitely better than farming fucking darkwraiths for chunks if you want more than 2 weapons up to +15 - the main route in DaS just doesn't have enough titanite.
