Why is Nintendo so afraid to use him anymore?

Why is Nintendo so afraid to use him anymore?
He's a great villian.

>Foiled in DKC1
>Kidnaps Donkey Kong and tortures him so he won't fuck with him again
>Diddy foils him
>Kidnaps Donkey AND Diddy for DKC3
>fucked over by Dixie and her fat cousin
>decides fuck it, sails away, and takes on the whole crew in the next game and still manages to kidnap 4 of them

He's pretty tenacious and probably would have won against the Kongs if there weren't so fucking many of them to kidnap. He's also pretty popular if I remember by all those Smash polls.

So what's the hold up on Nintendos end? He's quirky enough.

What is the appeal of a green lizard that isn't Bowser

Ballsier/Crazier than Bowser.

Nintendo will almost certainly have to play the K. Rool card if they want the next DKC to even be noticed.

Hell, look at Kirby. That hasn't had a memorable entry in a while thanks, in part, to not solely using King Dedede or Dark Matter (Crafter doesn't count).

But Triple Deluxe and Planet Robobot were great.

Made by traitorous baka gaijin scum.

Tropical Freeze was pretty praised around the time it came out.

The Kremlings should come back though. There was enough variance in them so that they never got old.

Mediocre.

Yes, for presentation. Not gameplay or story, however.

Miyamoto has a personal thing against DKC1, I think.

>DKTF gameplay isn't praise worthy

DKCTF gameplay was a vast improvement on DKCR in everyway

Standard K Rool has nothing on the best of Bowser but there is something to work with in his thespian persona that switches between many roles. That's the main gimmick and works well with giving the DK series its own flair to separate it from other franchises.

He's pretty tricky with that fake credits.
I do remember that almost getting me.

It isn't. They screwed the partners up, awful, just absolutely screwed it in the ass.

Probably. I can't say - I skipped DKCR, and bothered with DKCTF.

Just because it improved upon the previous entry, doesn't make it automatically good.

Can't argue the reviews and sales, folks.

>Can't argue the reviews and sales, folks.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Also apparently NoA was based at some point

>gamespot
LOL

Because Nintendo doesn't want to acknowledge Rare.

>Can't argue the reviews and sales
I guess that means Avatar is the best movie ever made and that Justin Bieber is the greatest musician of all time!

It did do some bullshit with the platforms, especially seeing as this series is supposed to be about timing. It's fucking nonsense to yank the platform from under you nonstop or even use minecarts ever.

>implying that feedback dynamic works in an unrelated industry driven by word of mouth
Don't be dense. You don't even get the (You).

it may or may not have to do with the extended DK cast having absolutely no appeal outside of DK and half-indifferent tolerance of Diddy?

>Cant argue the reviews

Oh shit, you're right, their OBJECTIVE opinions are much more correct when compared to mine, how silly of me to forget.

He's the ultimate enemy of gorillas who hang out by the water.

>donkey kong country game being praised for story
That's not a reasonable expectation.

Hopefully retro doesn't develop it. I'd like to see them do something new.

>Mediocre.

Nah nigga

Sales aren't always because the game is good. It's more about the game being interesting enough to talk about for someone than the quality of it. DKCTF was just another platformer on a system with a small userbase so it had a hard time grasping attention.

Meanwhile something like Flappy Bird got a lot of attention because people thought it was stupid enough to say something about it and it was simple enough for anyone to understand it.

Didn't K Rool appeared in that Mario baseball game?

>Bitch about how they ruined the gameplay
>Haven't played either game.

Returns is better than DKC3 and TF is on par with 2. The new system works perfectly well and it's especially better for co-op play.

You're coming off as a nostalgiafag
