Goodness. Who could believe that we just went through a whole year without a mainline Assassin's Creed game?
Here's hoping Ubisoft can deliver the best possible addition to the franchise they can in 2017
Goodness. Who could believe that we just went through a whole year without a mainline Assassin's Creed game?
It was pretty cool up until brotherhood or so and 3 proved that they were going to go downhill.
After the releases of their newer "games" and that awful movie it makes me sad to see how this franchise is being milked more than any other franchise
I want to play as a samurai.
4 was a breddy gud pirate game.
> meiji restoration asscreed
Yes please
How about we stop asking for bullshit sequels and start getting original IPs
That's my problem with AC, it was a good PIRATE game but it was labeled as an Assassin's Creed game
AC2 is objectively the best game in the series
Can someone explain me how this series became so popular?
I can understand call of duty, but this...
>you get to play as an assassin from the ishin-shishi
>you get to fight the shinsengumi
Not in a world where Rogue exists.
I'll give you the soundtrack, though.
Unity is pretty good, the problem being the lack of story missions, it would have been on the level of Brotherhood if we could have twice the number of story missions desu.
People blew their loads over being able to parkour around a large city and the combat was satisfying and flashy but basic enough for any retard to grasp.
Nostalgia the post
yfw the next AC game is set in ancient Rome and we play the Romulus that left his armor in AC Brotherhood
Historyfags.
Go fuck yourself. Glad to see Ubi learned their lesson and skipped a year. Here's hoping they keep it up and don't release another piece of shit this year, too. I'm sick of hearing about the fanboys line up to buy AssCreed garbage only to flood forums complaining about what garbage it is the next day.
The blowed 125 million burgersbucks plus marketing on The Movie
the franchise is dead
If I was only going to buy one AC game, having not played any since 3, which should I get?
But Watchdogs 2 came out this year.
Rogue.
Rogue, but it's pretty short
Keep dreaming senpai, The entire franchise died with the movie.
it was a good thing the franchise died. Ass Devs should focus on making a good Black flag reboot and go on from there
4 or rogue are the last good screedo games and they're barely screedo games.
Fuck rogue, play Black flag
Make a pure pirate game that doesn't involve assassins, templars, ancient aliens, or modern day stuff.
>wanting yearly releases of the same franchise
You are what is wrong with everything.
>Ubisoft scrapping one of their biggest money making franchise because they lost money
Hmmm, really made me thing
>the templars in the first game were intelligent and had understandable goals
>in the next games they turn into evil mustache twirling vilains
you mistyped AC4 black flag senpai
rogue AND black flag
>mfw no Black Flag-based pirate simulator where you get you make your captain
>I'll never get to play as pic related
Well, at least Sea of Thieves looks kinda fun.
This, plus the graphics and animations were nothing short of amazing when the first game came out.
>One Piss
The concept is original, and you can't deny that the concept is good
>Black Flag is a bad game
>movie was awful
Way to spot a pleb
Nah I'm with him and I just recently started replaying the series.
Venice is just too pretty. Would have liked to see it in Brotherhood graphics tho.
Also, 2 had no 100% synch shit. That was really fucking annoying at times in BH and Revelations. It was okay in the later ones because you could restart from checkpoints so there was no time lost at all.
Fuck everyone who says Rogue and Black Flag. They're not good AC games, they're good pirate games. That's fine and all, but if you're looking for a departure in gameplay from 3, you'll be sorely disappointed.
Play Unity, it's been patched to hell and back, and it has the actual best evolution of gameplay in the series, from stealth, to combat, to parkour.
well i mean, it's already suspicious as fuck that they didn't even make a game for it this year
that was only AC2, and even in universe the templars don't like and sort of disowned the guys from AC2
meanwhile in AC3 i've heard that most of the templars make better arguments than connor
in AC4 all the templars have a strong respect for the assassins (they respect you for siding against them, they shit on you for not caring about their dumb war and just wanting money) and the villain isn't even a templar
AC rogue is almost entirely about flipping the script and making the templars look like the good guys and the assassins like bad guys
etc.
>like Shonen manga
>like pirates
>Wan Piss is a manga about pirates
I don't see the problem here.
reminder that AC-styled combat is called such because it invented it.
it came before shadow of mordor and the batman arkham series and every other game that had similar gameplay then paved the way for them.
Unity is ass even without bugs.
>only one weapon at a time
>unarmed attacks and hidden blade are contextual only
>skills and armor/weapons are grindy as fuck to encourage paying real money
I just replayed the Ezio saga and watched Embers afterwards
Muh heart
>Died at fucking 65
It's not fair. He had too much to go through. Altair, spent 20 years doing fuckall but to stare into his apple. Ezio was always on the move
The first game was an original concept and was a lot of fun despite the tedium of gathering intel on each target. 2 expanded on it really well and Brotherhood did pretty much more of the same. After that it started going downhill, Black Flag was a fun game but only because of pirating and sea shanties.
Did anybody here actually see the movie? I'm assuming it was bad because Video Game Movie, but there's always a chance.
>Doing fuckall but staring into the apple
Suck my dick. Ezio had it hard but Altair was the fucking martyr.
>self-imposed exile with the apple and went fucking insane from the knowledge from it, all to prevent someone from using it for evil because everybody was after it
>Comes back to find the creed is worse than ever, even worse than the templars and when Al Mu'Alim was in charge
>Cuts down his own students and former best friend
>Loses the love of his life
>Sacrifices himself once again to keep the apple from his enemies and is locked away forever by his own sons
Hey dying at 65 was a very respectable thing back in that era
Anything past BH was his own fault though. Nobody told him to go to Masyaf, he wanted to. And when he found what he searched for he didn't even want it.
Then again, he didn't expect it to be a difficult mission, he just wanted to be all chill about it and collect the keys. But that wouldn't have made for good game material, so stuff had to happen.
>only one weapon at a time
Yes, because the actual weapons themselves were so much better than previous titles.
>bugs out the ass
Bullshit, Black Flag had way more bugs and they had way more time to work on it. Unity still fucks up from time to time, but at least I haven't seen my ship get abducted into space.
>skills and armor/weapons are grindy as fuck
Are you fucking serious? Did you actually have trouble unlocking that shit? Jesus.
>unarmed attackd and hidden blade ate contextual only
Now this I can agree with. Unarmed is always fun in AC games, so it not really being in Unity sucked.
For some reason I thought you were saying it still had bugs out the ass, not sure how I got that.
In AC 2 the templars are the worst, but that doesnt mean they arent bad, apart from the spanish governor in 4, the rest were huge cunts (the guy that chased pirates was kinda cool with Edward tho), the templars in Unity are cunts, that want power for the sake of power, Elise is kinda cool and pretty cute but the order itself calls Elise and her allies "the old guard".
And what the fuck is up with Abstergo, they're huge cunts as well, they do actively try to better humanity with project phoenix and Helix, but that's basically its employees that do all the work, the higher ups always sound like total cunts, unless you tell them of an artifact then they triple your department budget.
Play Tenchu or Shinobido instead.
Both lives were shit but at least Altair experienced a family life too, his sons were old enough to marry, Ezio missed his chance to even see his daughter grow up.
I just finished playing the Ezio collection.
Fun to see the creation of the quintessential ubisoft game from 2 > Brotherhood.
Brotherhood is probably the best in the series, pacing is annoying and the (small) desmond parts are just terrible, does a have a fair amount to do.
What's the latest games like with regards to the current year shit? Always the worst part of the games, just give me a skippable cut scene so I can go back to swashbuckling and assassinating.
Anyone remember the leak that came out at the beginning of the year? It said something about no AC this year because of Watch Dogs 2 and the series returning in 2017 with a game set in Egypt and a new combat system.
I hate people that ask if they are the only ones but AM I the only one who likes the desmond parts?
>Bullshit, Black Flag had way more bugs and they had way more time to work on it. Unity still fucks up from time to time, but at least I haven't seen my ship get abducted into space.
Can confirm, played black fag had a shit ton of bugs and framerate issues, while unity as been buttery smooth.
>What's the latest games like with regards to the current year shit?
I believe Unity only had cutscenes set in the modern day, not sure about Syndicate. Black Flag and Rouge had some hacking missions and 3 was the worst, a bunch of shitty stealth.
>Yes, because the actual weapons themselves were so much better than previous titles.
Even if individual weapons were improved I still say it's a bad and totally unnecessary change. I was salty even when they had multiple weapons but removed the ability to permanently carry heavy ones.
>Are you fucking serious? Did you actually have trouble unlocking that shit? Jesus.
No and that's not the point. They added leveling and made things way more expensive than in previous games to push microtransactions and that's bullshit. Also in previous games health upgrades weren't essential because enemies came in different types instead of the same enemies at different levels, in Unity on you absolutely have to keep upgrading your items because enemies have levels and high level enemies will fuck you up, especially the ones with guns.
Is Desmond even relevant to the series anymore? What's is even the plot in the future these last couple of games
I really liked them too senpai, i really liked Desmond and we could have gotten a lot more out of him but they decided to kill him. It's p dumb.
you don't play Desmond in black flag, you're just a nameless abstergo goon that does what its told, p annoying sometimes but its quicker than the desmond parts from before and you only have like 4 parts of it, including the start and the end.
In Unity you dont have real life bullshit, but its kinda meta, YOU'RE a guy that got recruited by the Assassins while playing vidya
>Rouge
I just find them awfully boring and no real reason to have them. Nothing that couldn't have been cut-scenes or just dropped.
Seriously, fucking around the Rome colosseum... then everyone turns up at door anyway. Could they just have not lock picked a door with a magical skeleton key, or a windows?
First game did desmond sequence the best, felt like a decent puzzle first time around to unlock everything.
He's dead and they are taking the DNA out of his brain so they can milk the series forever.
Are they still bothering with the whole unleashing the ancient evil thing?
What about all that prophecy crap?
See it that way, Ezio had A LOT more pussy than Altair. And I can't even imagine Ezio being a normal family man for long.
About him already dying at 65, could it also be related to the illness he had? He was coughing like crazy. Literally worse than MGS4 Snake, there was more going on with him than just heart problems. I did a bit of research and think he might have developed a chronic Winegrower's Lung. He did have a huge vineyard after all.
Dying at 65, of natural causes, during the Renaissance and while being a fucking Assassin his whole life is a major win, tho
>All I've wanted was a china AssCreed because the old style chinese aesthetic would be GOAT
>Get it
>As a mobile game or whatever it was
>2D
Fucking IN TO THE TRASH
Every game has a new ancient evil device of doom and it never goes anywhere.
He must be late, or she must be beautiful!
I think he was bitching about politics
Always seemed like an afterthought. I mean really, ancient civilization and it was... a solar flare? Snore.
Tried to make up for it in 3 by making on of them hate humans but again... snore. Couldn't just be templars vs. assassins.
I haven't touched the series since Revelations Because i'm sick of the long coats and pointy hats. They switched time periods three fucking times since and managed to always go with shitty 1600-1800s europe.
It was a sidescroller but it honestly isn't bad. Weird as hell, it has the best stealth in the series.
Prophecy crap was end of the worl in 2012 by solar flare (?). Desmond sacrificed himself to stop that, The new games are about the Phoenix project by Abstergo, basically in AC4 they introduce us to the idea of Sages, that are like humans with an unusual amount of Precursor dna, so abstergo wants to catch them all during all the time periods (to locate bodie/whatever) so they can sequence the precursor genome and relieve memories of the precursors, so they then get their technological knowledge.
By Unity, the animus project doesnt exist anymore and they sell VR games to people, you play one of these people that get recruited by the Assassins after he google searched 'who is abstergo' and you try and locate one such body before Abstergo
>By Unity, the animus project doesnt exist anymore and they sell VR games to people, you play one of these people that get recruited by the Assassins after he google searched 'who is abstergo' and you try and locate one such body before Abstergo
Jesus.
Is the Haytham part the best Asscreed ever made?
see reviews for the first assassins creed
it was original
it created a new gameplay style that gets used to this day ( i think its shit, but people seem to like it)
lol no
I quit AC3 before getting to Connor
>3 was the worst
Hey fuck you, the Desmond current time action in 3 was neat
Actual ADHD.
What was in the box Ezio gave to that china girl? Altair's apple?
the part where you actually got to fight as desmond was neat, the rest of it is boring.
Revelations was too fucking short. Hate the look armors, took the counter kill shit to the next fucking level.
Least the bombs added a new gameplay, but shit was so fucking easy minus the odd 100% sync goal.
I mean, they tried to downplay the RL part as much as possible because people were bitching about it.
I personally really liked AC4 approach (you're a mindless employee from abtergo that gets bamboozled into doing things for the IT guy, and you're reliving Edward memory under the pretense of making vidya (a pretty good way for abstergo to make money on the side). The games are then sold without any mention of the assassins or templars or precursor.
AC4 parts are pretty good, cause you get a LOT of lore by doing quick minigames (you get some information on Vidic, or Test subject 1 for example) it's really neat.
I just dislike the AC:U approach because Assassin's literally come to you and say 'hey wanna join us we cool' and you do and you're an Initiate boom.
The concept of sages are pretty good too (they know of their previous lives so they get pretty crazy, they also have a tendency to join the templars)
I'm pretty sure they consider the Movie to make up for that
Movie will suck, this is just the next call of duty series. Going to pop one out every year or so.
I loved the look of the armor, and Constantinople is pretty great. I never used the bombs, but it's true the game is short.
Why was he so goddamn touchy? He touched Ezio at every possible occasion and he was visibly annoyed.
Touchy people are truly the worst.
Everyone wants to fuck Ezio.
The movie was this year's installment
Ubisoft thinks that people are more interested in their epic story than in going around being a medieval assassin. That's also why every new game has more and more modern-day bullshit.
How about we get a sequel to this instead?
Thought it was trash, maybe because the Master armor didn't allow custom colours, and you could get it by the 3rd sequence I think.
Never. It's an incredibly underrated game, fuck all the plebs who hated it for no reason other than "le u can't die therefore bad." The art direction was fantastic, and the story was pretty good.
None of this is true
Why do you do this user
Why do you go to random threads to write halfassed bullshit
why
I wish unity had better story missions. The game is the best looking open world on the market and paris is incredibly detailed. It's a waste the game world is used as a giant playground instead of a proper, living world. RPG set in paris when
>That's also why every new game has more and more modern-day bullshit.
>there are less and less modern day bullshit
The movie doesn't even follow the game's story. And in fact the modern day stuff actually gets reduced, which is a shame.
better and more*
Sequence 9 is like 3 missions, and you nearly dont get any cutscenes.
I completely agree with you
