In your opinion user, what's the best Elder scrolls game other than Skyrim?

In your opinion user, what's the best Elder scrolls game other than Skyrim?

skyrim is dogshit so good thing you exempt it from the choice OP.

>Vanilla
Oblivion by far.

Oblivion with FCOM

Arena, if you disagree you are underage

Oblivion is the worst and laziest game in the series

> FCOM

Sure if you like playing for 15 minutes at a time before a crash

Morrowind.

Oblivion is the worst in the series.

Just wondering what makes Skyrim Dogshit? Is this serious or is it the Sup Forums policy of it's bad if it's popular?

They are all boring

>>Vanilla
>Oblivion by far.
The opposite of the truth. When comparing vanilla games, Oblivion is the worst. It has the most egregious level scaling and the ugliest art and graphics.

morrowind best

oblivion is worst

Just wait until the next game comes out. Then Skyrim will be great, Oblivion for hipsters, and Morrowind mentioned once in a blue moon by aging faggots.

Just like Oblivion, Morrowind and Arena are now.

>Only plays cawwadootie Black Ops 3

>can't follow instructions

Oblivion

Nobody likes oblivion

Pretty much this

>Elder scrolls game other than Skyrim
So what, like ESO or that hearthstone clone? Skyrim has yet to have a proper sequel so there's nothing to compare.

OP here, I mean ES I-IV which is best. However, I haven't played ESO, is it all of Tamriel and do you need to be online or can I play offline?

the fact that there are almost daily oblivion threads says otherwise

nigga where.
morrowind and skyrim have daily threads

I think it was breddy good. I am only 20 do I didn't play any of them when they were new. Oblivion I enjoy the most even though I agree it's flawed as fuck.

What about the other ten or so games in the franchise?

Weak projection user

I'm going to say Morrowind.
I need to play Oblivion, but first I need to find a mod for the characters faces.
I don't want to play Potato Simulator 2002.

Unpopular opinion coming through
Morrowind = Oblivion > Skyrim

Modded morrowind shits over all, but vanilla oblivion beats vanilla morrowind.

Regardless of what you think of Bethesda oblivion was a pretty tight game.

I respect your opinion

Skyrim.

I like Oblivion the most because of the setting and quests. I can't really compare Morrowind with oblivion or skyrim because apples and oranges.
I think Morrowind was a better RPG, I guess.

Not a fan of Skyrim for much at all beyond the geography of the land.

Can anyone explain why they think oblivion is worse than morrowind and skyrim simultaneously without using memes?
Hard mode:Morrowind wasn't your first elder scrolls

Maybe to elaborate on why I fucking love Oblivon's setting and quests more than anything:

>Shadowy guilds like TG or DB take a bit of hunting to learn about/have a weird way of joining beyond "Go here, talk to recruiter man X", the guilds aren't incoporated into the main quest and the guildhalls make you feel like they exist beyond you
>From most places on the map, you can see the central city, and this was always neato to me
>Ayleid Ruins fuck Nord tombs in the ass all day every day
>The quests were great and made sense-the TG quests were almost entirely about stealing shit, while in Skyrim for example the TG is just a less edgy DB
>Cities all had a distinct aesthetic, in Skyrim it was either a bunch of norse-style huts or else it was that one dwarven style city or whatever. In Oblivion, you have Skingrad with narrow streets and tall buildings, Bravil is a ramshackle shithole, Anvil is very open and spacious while Cheydinhal has rivers and shit

I dunno. I felt the locations in Oblivion were better, as were the quests.

Kind of love the exotic feeling of MW though.

Man, maybe oblivion is Ok gameplay/quest wise vanilla, but I can't get through the terrible graphics.

>Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim are the only games to still have daily threads on Sup Forums
>In these threads there are people who argue the games are good with and/or without mods
The real question is, what did Bethesda do so absolutely right for this outcome?

Oblivion is the only good one, and it's unplayable nowadays

There are fixes to make it work on modern systems

>Vanilla
Daggerfall = Morrowind > Oblivion > Skyrim > Arena

>Modded
Oblivion > Daggerfall = Morrowind > Skyrim > Arena

desu senpai

skyrim is a fucking turd

>open catalog daily
>see one oblivion or oblivion vs skyrim thread a fucking day

these threads usually last all day or half a day so youre either blind or just full of shit

By making each game have pretty big flaws, causing endless debate among autists over which is their favorite (the one they played first)

This.

>Daggerfall unmentioned
pleb

>Parroting words he doesn't fully understand.

thanks for the wallpaper, also I almost entirely agree with your claims, though I'd personally rate morrowind a hair over daggerfall but that's mostly due to the elements of time; I'm a morrowind nostalgiafag and Skyrim as well as other non TES games have somewhat soured the heavy procedural style that was so impressive in Daggerfall at the time. Also, the modding scene of Morrowind kind of blows all the others out of the water imo, I don't see how even Oblivion can compete unless you're counting porn mods

Skyrim's mods are turning out to be vastly superior to Oblivion's because Skyrim took a lot of memory restrictions off.

What is the best Elder Scrolls game besides Oblivion, Daggerfall, Arena, Morrowind, Elder Scrolls Online, Redguard, Elder Scrolls Legends? And why is it Skyrim?

No competition. No one else even tries to scratch that open world FP RPG itch.

MMO, have to be online. It's not bad, I recommend it if you like other ES games. get it on sale when its cheap.

>Open catalog
>See 3 skyrim related threads
>See 2 morrowind threads
>See 1 divinity of talos thread

>not Shadowkey

morrowind was my first and I have been unironically calling Oblivion the best game in the series for years. people are just salty about muh jungle and the potatofaces and bloom, which are superficial complaints that nobody on PC should even be taking into account when judging the game. it had better quests than morrowind, and an ideal balance of skyrim's physics and hack n slash vs morrowind's stat depth and wild-ass abusable magic. if it hadn't been generic tolkein fantasy it would have been everyone's 10/10.

playing through morrowind right now but honestly oblivion is the best

>posting in the daily oblivion thread

Anyone who mentions Arena has to be a millennial fucktard who just want to hang with the old faggots by claiming to have played an old game of a series but actually never touched it.

Having said that answer's got to be Morrowind.

Arena is such a drag. Daggerfall improved on it in every way.

>Other than Skyrim

Not that hard to accomplish, dont you think?

Morrowind is and will remain the best one - as good as you can go with pre-made content (sure, Daggerfall is huge but because of randomly created content). Oblivion was step into wrong direction, but it was playable and some questlines were really nice.

Skyrim lies below those two - limited RPG elements, awful simplification and restrictions, stupid questlines, poor combat system, etc. It is playable after fixing with mods, but I played it solely because I was and Im still starving for open world moddable 3rd person games.

More sad when you realize that ESO, MMO game have BETTER questlines and voiceacting than Skyrim. Massive multiplayer online game for hell sake. Not to mention combat.

Oblivion's style has aged incredibly poorly. Oblivion was first, then Skyrim, then played Morrowind. Morrowind is sort of basic polygon tier, but I can immerse myself alright. Oblivion has the weird faces and it's awful

I found that Morrowinds main quest and setting spoke to me better than Oblivions did. That and Levitate is a godtier ability

Guy you replied to here, I honestly think morrowind is better made, role playing wise at least, even though oblivion is my first and I had more fun with it, it's just more casualized.

I just don't understand how people think skyrim is better when it does the exact dumbing down thing oblivion did.

>ESO
starting to have better world design too.

>Oblivion's style has aged incredibly poorly
nah

Is Oblivion worth the 10 dollars it's on sale for now?

Now post pictures of unmodded npc's

no it's incredibly boring if you're going to mod it pirate it

...

get out of here kid

Some of them are okay and surprisingly uncanny. Most are god awful.

No elder scrolls games are shit go play dragons dogma or witcher or something.

I know. Never said that Arena was a good game.

You seem to be lashing out, user. You're not upset that Elder Scrolls has multiple threads every damn day and you can't get a Witcher or DD thread going without it getting shutdown by Sonypony Soulsfags?

Morrowind > Daggerfall > Oblivion > Arena > Skyrim

regarding vanilla

i think everyone hates skyrim because of how much reddit has orgasms over when new games come out. reddit is the reason why i hate Nintendo games, because it's all just a bunch of 20-30 year old hipsters who think they're all unique because they've been playing since super mario came out.

i had never even heard of elder scrolls until skyrim came out, except my brother telling me once that there was a game called oblivion where you're in this huge world. i was optimistic about trying to play oblivion, but it just feels so bland, like a generic rpg game. i played both of these games on ps3, so obviously no mods.

but yeah skyrim, even though my opinion wont be revelant because "you never played any elder scrolls before skyrim" yeah well fuck you, i loved skyrim.
i also got skyrim special edition for ps4 and i platinumed it in exactly 7 days, and I'm still playing now

I was just agreeing with you :^)

Daggerfall

>Arena > Skyrim
no

Hey bud I come to Sup Forums specifically not to get bullied.

Oblivion truly is the most beautiful Elder Scrolls game. The setting alone makes it number 1.

>other than Skyrim
Like skyrim is the best by default or something?

its on the top together with morrowind

Especially that retconning of cyrodiil into a run of the mill fantasy setting was more than appropriated

>Morrowind
Nah, ugly setting, not Tolkienesque enough, shitty roll-of-the-dice combat. Oblivion is best.

skyrim > ESO > morrowind > oblivion

Oblivion is unplayabble

>ESO higher than morrowind and oblivion

explain

This seems like bait but I agree
