People who look down on other people for playing games on a console instead of a PC

>people who look down on other people for playing games on a console instead of a PC

Why do they do this? Let me break it down:

>consoles are cheaper
>using a controller is much more comfy than using a keyboard and mouse
B-BUT MUH AIMING
>you can aim just fine
>also playing in your living room is comfy and allows you to be social
>there are lots and lots of console exclusives
>the improvements in graphics you'd get on a PC are minimal and not worth the extra money

It's okay if you enjoy games on the PC, but you don't have to be a dick about it.

You're preaching to the choir. Sup Forums would be the place for outrage.

>>consoles are cheaper

this is the only real advantage and it only helps if you don't have a job

There's a difference between being a dick about it, and someone getting overly offended when I point out that PC is objectively superior.

>Consoles are cheaper
Mm, not really. Making a whole new PC from scratch is expensive, but simply upgrading its components on a piece-by-piece basis every decade or so is considerably cheaper on the whole than buying a new console every five years. It's short term versus long term investments, and yields a far greater performance per dollar ratio.

>using a controller is more comfy than using a keyboard and mouse
Subjective. It takes up less space, but that's about it. I enjoy having over a hundred buttons at my disposal for customization, and my keyboard sits in my lap quite comfortably.

>you can aim just fine
Yes and no. You can aim, but it's hardly FINE, in the context of small details. It's incredibly restrictive, and considerably less efficient, requiring far greater motions (even if only of a single finger) for simple changes in direction. Making quick and dynamic changes in aim is incredibly difficult, compared to a mouse which is far more fluid, can change speeds and angles with considerably less effort, and is generally just more accurate on the whole.

Right stick is fine when you're just using a camera though, rather than playing an FPS for instance.

>playing in your living room is comfy
Playing in my room is far comfier.

>and allows you to be social
That's what the internet is for.

>lots and lodes of console exclusives
Actively detrimental to gaming as a medium on the whole. If the only good point of getting something is to have access to something else that's locked behind it for completely arbitrary reasons, then that's not a good thing at all.

>the improvements in graphics you'd get on a PC are minimal and not worth the extra money
Sure, if all you're doing is shelling out for the latest and greatest every year instead of waiting for five-ten years down the line for something far stronger to sale.

It depends. I had consoles, and still prefer PC.KB+M is better(even though I play warframe with an xbox controller)
Consoles are cheaper, but PCs are tools too(I'm a Graphic Designer so I use the PC for work as well).
I still want to buy the Switch, though. The other consoles of this gen hadn't offrres anything tempting to me, so I stuxk with PC

What draws are there for you to want to buy a Switch? I'd like to compare them to my own.

>Mm,
Dropped

>consoles are cheaper
If you consider only the initial investment, sure. But paid online and expensive games quickly make them more expensive.
>using a controller is much more comfy than using a keyboard and mouse
Completely irrelevant considering that you can plug any control method into a PC. The same cannot be said for consoles.
>you can aim just fine
Hahahahahaahaahahh
>also playing in your living room is comfy and allows you to be social
Normie arguments are invalid.
>there are lots and lots of console exclusives
PC has more exclusives, emulation and backwards compatibility going back over 3 decades

tl;dr
Peasant apologists, please go.

>make a petition for a game
>post a picture like this
pottery

I'm a PCfag but as long as you're not being a dick about it it doesn't matter to me what console you prefer. You do you. As long as you are aware and informed of why people prefer PC to console and vice versa you're good in my book.

Console wars are a cancer on this medium.

>and allows you to be social

I think the console offers more in terms of group activity. Co-op, Fighting games and such when you're hanging out with a few friends. Not saying its "better", since I enjoy turn based games that work well in the PC, but it does seem a bit more versatile.

pc mustard race is making pc users look like faggots

OP is in right.
Save Brendan.

Facecam and voice chat are a thing. There's no need for you to physically be in the same room as someone else.

>pc memer race memeber is an aspie shut in
woah shocking

people really believe this. people really post this.

>consolefag
>I play this game because my friends said I should play it

>PCfag
>I play this game because high review and reddit
>EVGAcuck
>plugging RGB up his ass "look at me you pleb"

>me
>playing what I want when I want

Oh, I agree absolutely but sometimes consoles can come in handy more than the pc does. Thats why I didnt want to argue that its better, just that its different.

You pretty much covered it. Also, I use a 360 controller for alot of games. As for cost you can build a cheap rig or invest in an expensive one that has a long life. I dropped 800$ on a rig that lasted 7 years before I updated my GPU. Not to mention I can emulate a whole shit ton of games for free.

I dont look down on console owners and purchase Nintendo systems. You do you I guess. Ps4 has some good exclusives, but why the fuck would you buy an xbone

>but why the fuck would you buy an xbone
Not sure anyone really has an answer for that one

There is only three reasons to get a console:
>You don't care enough about video games to bother with something less plug-and-play than consoles
>You don't have the money for the entry cost of getting a competent PC
>You are too unintelligent to deal with the higher degree of technical knowledge required to operate a gaming PC
If you don't fall in any of those categories and still play on consoles you are crippling your video game experience™, plain and simple.

console fag detected

i keep offering to buy my peasant roommate a ps4 if he trades in his xbone, but his only response is that he likes the controller for the xbone

tfw i'll never play rocket league 2v2 with my roomie.

Kill yourself

Nope, you lose.
>not having friends
:(

Consolefag here. I agree with this guy. Hell, I'm happy for my PCfag friend when cool shit that used to be console exclusive gets a PC version.
Shame he moved recently. He'd probably dig the Automata demo.
Honestly, in all my years wasting away here, I still can't tell if the console war bullshit here is genuine.

consoles aren't cheaper when you consider you aren't posting on Sup Forums from one so you must have bought a console as well as buying a computer/tablet, plus you have to pay a recurring fee for the privilege of using your own internet connection on your console.

Also games are generally more expensive.

You'll understand someday.

Same way. More people get to enjoy shit I do? Cool for them. I like to think that its purely ironic. Nobody can be stupid enough to spend their youth arguing who has the better toys on an anonymous image board right?

Look where you are.
What made you think this place was designed for any other type of person?

>not posting from a ouija board you found a thriftshop

Well, people that are excessively insecure in their positions tend to be very aggressive and confrontational. Even regarding fucking gaming platforms.
I've learned to not take that shit too seriously.

I have both a console and PC

Playing shooters/strategy games on consoles with a controller fucking sucks. Playing action/fighting games on PC with a mouse/keyboard fucking suck.

My argument for PC being better in this regard is that you can always just easily hook up a controller. I only use my PS4 for exclusives, really. Though contrary to what Sup Forums has to say it actually does have a pretty solid amount of exclusives coming out, enough to justify the purchase.

You faggots need to stop being poor

>consoles are cheaper
maybe, but if you consider that pc has more and better sales, no need to pay for internet and a game library that will never leave you, the price will endup being better

>using a controller is much more comfy than using a keyboard and mouse
That's why I play with controllers on pc whenever I want

>you can aim just fine
videos of people playing hitman on consoles prove otherwise. Aiming with no assist in controller is shit.

>also playing in your living room is comfy and allows you to be social
I don't want to be social most times, especially if I'm playing lewd games. But if I want I can take my pc to the living room, or stream it to the tv.

>there are lots and lots of console exclusives
There are more pc exclusives if you consider every game every released.

>the improvements in graphics you'd get on a PC are minimal and not worth the extra money
BUt the improvement in performance is excellent.

7/10 bait, made me reply

Why the spiked collar user? Is this the latest console controll- I mean gamepad?

>consoles are cheaper
$500 PC I built runs Witcher 3 High/Ultra 40-60FPS spend the extra $100 over your $400 console and get something that does more than just games.

>using a controller is much more comfy than using a keyboard and mouse
That's a matter of preference.

>you can aim just fine
Another preference. In my experience mouse/keyboard is better than controller.

>also playing in your living room is comfy and allows you to be social
Yeah this doesn't happen unless you're playing Co-Op.

>there are lots and lots of console exclusives
Same goes for PC. This argument is retarded.

>the improvements in graphics you'd get on a PC are minimal and not worth the extra money
If I still had my PS4 I'd show you side by sides of Skyrim/Witcher 3/Overwatch/The Division and you'll see how much better graphics are on the PC. Also only children give that much of a shit about graphics that a few extra bucks is going to make or break your decision.

I'm sure this is bait so fuck you.

This, honestly. No well-adjusted person cares that different people have different tastes and preferences. I guess that's why Sup Forums seems to care so much.

>>also playing in your living room is comfy and allows you to be social
>fuck I can't listen to music I'll have to play speakers or put my headphones in
>fuck the only way i can browse the web while playing games is on my tiny ass phone or if I make room for my laptop
>fuck I can't play online because my subscription expired and I don't have money right now
>fuck my controller's about to die, why didn't I charge it last night REEE
>yeah I was lining up to buy the game at midnight release but it took two hours just to buy it and it was sold out by the time I got in the store - I should've pre-ordered and reserved a copy!

You are wrong.

Who are you quoting?

You're either poor or to retarded to build a pc.

>tfw to retarded to build a pc

The reason I'm drawn to Nintendo consoles is because I feel they offer something different than PS4 or XBone. It's not just a watered down PC. It is, legitimately, an experience you can't really get elsewhere unless it's some gimmick toy for a phone or tablet that doesn't really go the full mile. It always changes how you handle the game or how you handle the system.

Stick a controller on a PC and you have essentially the same exact shit as Sony or Microsoft, but more powerful, with greater customization, minus system-specific exclusives.

The same cannot be said of Nintendo. Their systems are built around a gimmick, a gimmick PC either simply cannot do, or can only do with a fair amount of difficulty. This gimmick offers new gameplay experiences that, PR talk aside, you really CAN'T get anywhere else.

For example, you could port MH4U from the 3DS to the Vita, but what exactly would that get you aside from an increased resolution? The entire bottom screen customization factor has been removed entirely, which means quick items, quick combines, off-screen map, off-screen team stats, quick ping... The only time I can remember ever really seeing a port off a Nintendo system was Dead Space: Extraction going to the Move, because where the fuck else would it g--

Oh fuck I wanna see a Dead Space: Extraction port for the Vive, motion sickness be damned.

Now that I think about it, rail shooters would probably work surprisingly well on PC even without motion controls. Why aren't there more?

>be me
>was PC and console fag up until college
>became console fag in college because it was cheaper short term and couch coop was nice
>me now, getting sick of Sonys bullshit, sick of paid subscription, sick of limited performance
>mfw I'm about to build a new PC
>mfw I'll be able to play all pc games on high settings
>mfw I still can play ps4 and Xbox 360 exclusives
>mfw I'll get to play many PC games now considered to be outdated for the first time

For a long time I thought I was just a stinking casual shitter. Now I have come to the realization that only casual shitters stick to one platform

Compare your lives to mine and then kill yourselves.

>but you don't have to be a dick about it.
but we do this Sup Forums a 0day comunity build around the last minute knowledge
and consoles are obsolete and holdback gaming

Poor bait, here's your reply

>much more comfy
not an argument as much as I like comfyness
