Its almost 2017 and he STILL hasnt hacked his 3ds yet.
Its almost 2017 and he STILL hasnt hacked his 3ds yet
that's because i sold mine
i dont wanna deal with official firmware updates
Not this again.
that's because I haven't used it in like 3 years and don't feel like using it again
I'll wait for the successor to A9LH to become stable. A9LH has way too much shit to it to get it working. Otherwise I'll continue to use emuNAND.
>Downgrade to 2.1
>Install
>Move emunand to sysnand
>…
>Profit
these threads are 24/7. is it really just one autist?
i'll care about the 3ds when emulation is decent. thats all its good for.
l installed cakes back in January and l have no idea what to do now.
I'm thinking of selling my 11.0 n3ds xl with fieldrunners tbhq.
I already hacked two of my black friday ones to A9lh + Luma @ 11.2 but I'm not really interested in the games. I'll prob give one of them to my younger brother.
I still havent been able to find a 3ds for sale
call me when shit's as easy as Wii hacking
Ordered a refurbished n3dsxl from Nintendo. Just waiting for it to come in the mail.
give ONE (1)
O
N
E
method to do it that is not buying shitty games and an action replay, on a fat 3ds with 10.7 firmware
don't worry i will wait
I don't because if I do you'll stop making these wonderful and informative threads.
Browserhax or soundhax
10.7 is one of the best firmwares next to 9.2 because you dont have to buy shit. You can just straight up downgrade with 10.7 user
Soundhax lets you launch the homebrow menu.,
That lets you downgrade to 9.2.
I'll be your lil bro oniichan give gaemu to me
But it's already 2017 and I have hacked it
>living in the third world
>tfw got lucky and hacked 3ds on 10.7 after I hadn't updated it for a while
No reason to unless you want your treasonings on Nintendo resulting in Nintendo lawsuits at your door coupled with nnid and system bans provoking you from ever going online again
>4 hours later
No thanks.
Try a quarter of that
I'm so glad that there's a way to make the 3DS your controller for PC gaming. I didn't want to shell out the cash to buy these expensive things. Thankfully I'm a 2Dfag who isn't into fighting games so my games aren't very demanding and the 3DS can handle it.
for what fucking purpose you would use your 3ds as a pc controller?
>he
Try again, SHE already has.
I started playing Hyper Light Drifter and the Keyboard + Mouse control scheme annoys me because I don't want to aim with a mouse in a 2D game.
I have 11.2 and I don't own OOT, pls explain how to hack
>Its almost 2017 and he STILL hasnt hacked his 3ds yet.
I tried but I fucked up and destroyed my motherboard with a hardmod.
An hour still isn't worth it to me. My 3DS mostly collects dust anyway even though it's on emuNAND.
WHY WOULD I HACK MY 3DS?!
Can someone just tell me what the fuck I need to do after homebrew to get the free games?
1. I don't know how to with a n3Ds.
2. Can you even play downloaded 3ds games? What games can you even play?
them sweet jap games that companies can't be assed to bring here, either you pirated them or bought them since it bypasses the region lock.
and in the case you're one of those that are scared to see a single moonrune on his screen, you would use your old ds flashcart on it without problems
because you didn't sold your old ds like a retard right user?
Process for N3DS is mostly the same as for an O3DS. As long as it's on a firmware earlier than 11.0 it's easy to hack.
Guide is at 3ds.guide
And yeah you can play downloaded 3DS games, whether you buy them legally on the eShop, download them illegally using freeShop or CIAngel, or install them from CIA files. Nintendo can't detect if they're pirated due to how digitally installed games work, making them safe to play with online.
>my
>filename
what about that fiasco where players were banned from online play due to pokemon piracy?
So if I do soundhax with this 11.0 n3DS, I get homebrew, but I still have to wait for a downgrade method (I don't have the Dsi games) to get my free gaems?
Is hacking the 3ds that simple? I sometimes see bricked consoles or consoles stuck at a black screen on the homebrew thread on vg.
People told me httpwn for online 3DS use without updating the firmware, but even that seems a bit complicated
That's because they were retards and played a leaked rom 10 days before street date.
Forgot to mention they played it *online*
People who played the game early but kept offline were safe.
Yeah, for now we have arm11 kernal exploits like waithax, and soon fasthax which can do DSiwarehax, but that's the only way to downgrade an 11.x 3DS right now is with DSiwarehax in some capacity.
Ctr-httpwn is really easy to use though.
You just open the homebrew launcher using soundhax as normal, then run ctr-httpwn. After that, it will return you to the homebrew launcher, and you press start to exit to the home menu without rebooting the system.
After that, online services will just magically work, you don't need to update to play online or buy games.
That said, since you have an 11.0 N3DS with soundhax and waithax available, you can use this to install legit CIAs.
3dsiso.com
Legit CIAs are built using pre-installed games on bundled systems, as a result they can be installed on unhacked 3DS systems if you have an arm11 kernal exploit, and you can get some pretty nice games for free.
different user, but do I need to run ctr-httpwn again if I ever power off my 3DS for some reason?
I'm scared they would push a 11.3 update nag that will hit the sound recorder
Yes, if you power off the 3DS you'll need to run ctr-httpwn again. You can usually keep it running for long periods of time though.
If you get an update nag for 11.3 though you can kill that.
3dbrew.org
All you do is:
>Boot your 3DS into recovery mode by holding L+R+A+UP while powering on
>Decline the update and reboot
Bam, no more nag. At least, until the next time you get it.
Running ctr-httpwn will actually stop the firmware nag completely though.
OK thank you user, I will give it a shot
Worst case scenario, I can say it was an educational experience
I'm actually interested in this, OP. So, I've got the homebrew launcher running, but I can't get legit CIA. N3DSXL, btw.
what firmware
9.2 I already downgraded.
just get cfw then fag
How tho?
3ds.guide
A9LH is a thing.
I hacked mine recently, and I can confidently say that it is justified if you don't want to go through with all of the hassle. If you are on any firmware below 11.0 then go ahead and do it as quickly as you can, but if you are anywhere above that line than I would say unless you REALLY want to do it then don't do it.
Lost all of my save files because of how the 3DS System encrypts stuff. RIP Smash Save.
But hey, now I can play any GBA and SNES game that I want (barring SNES games with special chips in them), so there's that.
It was worth it to me, it was still a frustrating and convoluted process that I wouldn't confidently recommend to others.
cool update OP!
everyone has hacked their 3DS and if they haven't, i've sold ones to people!
you can stop these threads now, your work is finished
its a bit of a hassle, especially on the n3ds. I borrowed my niece's o3ds and it was on like 5.3 or something ridiculous, and I had that thing hacked in like fifteen minutes like it was nothing.
Used that one to hack my n3dsxl and it took a long time to go through all the extra garbage to downgrade nFIRM and fuck around with all the bits.
But damn, it was worth it. Now that its hacked, I got ALL THE GAMES. Played it so much that I accidentally burned out one of the ribbon cables like two weeks after I got it, had to crack that fucker open and do work. But fuck it, knowledge is power and I had fun
>Played it so much that I accidentally burned out one of the ribbon cables like two weeks after I got it
W-What?
You can actually play it to much and damage the syster?
bought one refurbished. probably had a minor defect, but I left it in sleep mode pretty much constantly and the ribbons to the super stable camera and the upper lcd got a weirdness. Part of it was just some kind of corrosion(?) at the mobo connector, but the camera ribbon had what appeared to be a tiny burn on one of the pin connector doohickeys. But yeah, somehow keeping it in sleep mode for two weeks straight fucked it up
