10 years ago OP's mother thought that he will become a functional part of society but today she realised this will never happen?
The greatest single release of all time.
4 10/10 games in one. Too bad Valve is done with making games.
Always saw this game in stores when i was a kid ALWAYS but it it just looked so bland and generic and the name "the orange box" ewwww. What did i miss?
Valve will make HL3 when Carmack solves VR, trust me
The cake is a lie xP
Shit, I didn't know they still sold it in store.
>when i was a kid
>I myself was 20 when it came out
God I feel old.
A game that went on for sale for free all the time, a game that is free now, and Half-life 2
I'm twenty right now and this post scares me.
im 10 right now and this post scares me
im 40 right now and this post scares me
MODS
im seventy right now and this post scares me
I'm -3 right now and this post fears me.
I'm 1000 right now and this post scares me
>4 10/10 games in one.
Nah. It was one 7/10 game that was 4 hours long bundled with four other 5/10 games at best.
Now Super Mario All-Stars? That was a release of four 10/10 games in one.
kirby super star was six 11/10 games
That's also true. It also included two 10/10 minigames and a 10/10 boss rush.
I was 17 when this came out and built my first real PC.
What a time to game, also
>HL3
Reminder that children born in 1999 start turning 18 this year
Nintoddlers were not asked
Do you get trained by a marketing major to shill like this?
Valvedrones have lower standards since Half-Life is the only good game Valve ever made by themselves, and even then they were just using Quake's engine.
>read this thinking "oh this is just one of those '1990 was 238 years ago' posts
>it's actually true
>Goldsource is no different to the quake engine
lol
It's a modified Quake engine, but it's still the Quake engine. Source is a modified GoldSrc.
they need more time, L3D, Portal 3, HL3 are going to all be part of the same cannon
10 years isnt enough to make 3 10/10 sequels
By that logic, Source is still the Quake engine too.
I remember when I was optimistic about the future.
how about just fucking one of them
Kids these days just don't know how it feels to have their hopes crushed, like with spore.
It is. The underlying building blocks of Source is still the Quake engine.
Valve's specialty is to take the work of others, modify it, and then sell it as their own. Just look at Counter-Strike, Team Fortress, Portal, Left 4 Dead, etc.
Steam was a perfect fit for Valve, since they could continue doing what they've done all along but do it with the games of companies they don't own.
This was before blue haired harpies ruined video games with liberalism.
there's already tons of proof they are making L4D and many things in Source 2
Don't be delusional, the bottom line is money. If valve thought they'd make good money by making these games they'd be made by now.
They obviously think it's more profitable to make csgo skins. The market doesn't really care about these titles anymore. If and when they ever come out, we will be old and apathetic and our children won't know or care about valve games
...
>valve thought they'd make good money by making these games they'd be made by now.
how stupid are you? it takes time to make a new engine. they arent going to make those games on source 1
Combine, more like Columbine. Another school shooting confirmed
>kids born after 9/11 are having sex RIGHT NOW
>Super Mario All-Stars
Fuck no, that's a terrible release.
The graphics are better but they fucked the physics up fucking hard and you float every time you hit a block completely ruining the flow of the first two games
>yfw skyrim won "test of time"
>The graphics are better but they fucked the physics up fucking hard and you float every time you hit a block completely ruining the flow of the first two games
The physics weren't "fucked up hard." The physics issue only affects 1 and 2J, and that's only due to a programming oversight of an inverted Y-axis value when hitting a block. There's a simple patch that corrects it.
Super Mario All-Stars is still a collection of four 10/10 games.
>hl2 isn't anywhere on there
Are you fucking with me?
Why would it be? It was mediocre even in 2004 and the reasons people praise it are laughable since games years before it were doing the things it did.
Hell, the 2003 E3 footage of HL2 has stood the test of time better than HL2 itself has. It's more impressive than the final game.
They were 10/10 games, but the physics glitch makes them 7/10 at best
The physics bug does not affect 2U or 3, and again, it was a simple oversight that is easily patched.
>playing TF2 on the 360
It was nice
>no cheaters, hackers, obnoxious MLP children
>no stupid hats or people whining about crates
Was floored when I finally decided to build a PC and play it on the "proper" platform.
I have never considered HL2 a 10/10 or a masterpiece, but it was definitely more than mediocre, man
Compared to HL1 it sure as shit is.
>he thinks HL1 is special
kek
>Look there are references to LFD3/HL3 in source 2 files!
user you need to let go any hope of Valve working on Games.
Compared to the other top 5, I'm reluctant but willing to agree. Could make a case for AOE2 or maybe Terraria, but then I'd feel like Skyrim being in the runner up section would be teetering on bullying
>Super Mario All-Stars
> 10/10 games in one
you clearly dont understand the importance of physics
don't really want to start talking about HL1 and HL2 barely being the same game, but if you look at HL2 as a standalone game then mechanically and visually it deserved a lot of praise in my opinion
>still no half-life 3
>still no sequel to TF2 (which is good now)
>Steam has degraded to trash without any quality control
>Steam reviews eternally shit up with "funny" comments. Instead of making some sort of posting guideline and encouraging quality reviews Valve decided the best thing to do was to add a funny button
I want to go back.
Are you saying that Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 2J aren't 10/10 games? Because you're wrong.
As stated several times, the physics bug is a PROGRAMMING OVERSIGHT THAT IS EASILY FIXED WITH A PATCH.
Everything else in that picture is entirely subjective.
>watching Xplay on cytube with Sup Forums
>Morgan reviewing Half Life 2
>literally says hope it doesn't take six years for a sequel
>t's been 10
I don't even care I want Left 4 Dead 3 honestly.
>but if you look at HL2 as a standalone game then mechanically and visually it deserved a lot of praise in my opinion
I agree. It's a good game if you look at it standalone, but the problem is that it does not stand alone due to it being a sequel.
I agree with what he was saying but those last two lines were fucking pretentious.
their original versions are 10 / 10 games
all stars screwed up the physics. whats so hard to understand? and SNES games cant be patched retard
>needing to modify the game to make it better
>their original versions are 10 / 10 games
And All-Stars is a collection of 10/10 games.
>all stars screwed up the physics.
With a tiny little programmer oversight.
>SNES games cant be patched retard
romhacking.net
EEPROM burning is a thing if you want to overwrite the ROM on your cartridge with this fixed one. Or you could just patch the game and play it on a flash cart or emulator.
You missed out on a golden age. Then the hats came, and it was history.
360 had an inner community that was pretty fun and occasionally hosted hacked lobbies with increase player count and modded maps, sadly it was really hard to break into because it was so small and exclusive. I still miss that comfy feeling though, a console game that felt like a dedicated server on PC where you'd see the same people all the time and there was some sense of a community, people were generally much nicer compared to your average 360 game. Objectively it was just an abandoned console port with a tiny playerbase but it felt like more to me.
wasmwt worj it, honeslt these games are onlt good on pc
Half Life 2 is a physics demo. Nowhere near as good as Half Life 1. Not in a million years.
>playing after the f2p update
Mannconomy will forever be a red stain in TF2's history
