I don't recall dying that much or having too much problem with ammo, but the story was pretty bad. I never felt invested, the villain is actually just fucking tedius to be around and the protagonist is super forgettable.

I was playing on normal and the cheap deaths, the lack of ammo, the bullshit boss fights, it was shit.

I liked the general gameplay a lot, and it really had the potential to be RE4 tier. It's held back by having really really bland characters, an over-emphasize on giving enemies one-hit kill mechanics, not using its setting (where literally anything could show up) to its advantage enough, and some just terrible sections.

It doesn't really deserve the hate it gets, but at the same time there's literally zero reason to play it when RE4 already exists.

So I don't really see the relation between that and naming a city CRIMSON CITY

Because a city being named Los Angeles makes a lot of sense seeing how Mexico was colonized by Spaniards, who were highly Catholic. And if you knew anything about this culture you'd know that basically everything is named after some Catholic stuff like San [Insert Saint Name]

So it's not weird at all to know that a city that was founded by highly religious people was named after a religious element.

But go ahead and tell me which culture names their cities after Colors, especially one that is associated with intense blood.

I bought this on the Christmas sale and just finished it recently. I was actually really pleasantly surprised by it. It's like the light version of RE4. The story is incoherent garbage and I hated teleporting back and forth and never just having a clearly defined goal but I still found it enjoyable. Wish there was more of Kidman's ass.

If you mean the shittier Silent Hill games, maybe. But playing the game the aesthetics was literally tangling barbed wire on some stupid shit. RE 4 was scarier, and that game isn't really scary at all. God this game was pretty awful

solid 8/10 but could have easily been better, a coherent story and the dlc included in the initial release would have made it a 9 easy.

The Kidman DLC is one of the most tense things I've ever played and the game play is good, but I hate linear structure in horror games.

Too bad the Kidman DLC was censored and had no gore. I wanted to see lil' kidman getting her limps turned apart as she let on harrowing screams.

You know that's actually one of the reasons why I disliked this game so much.

90% of the deaths are complete gorefests and the characters barely show it. None of them have ear splitting screams as they're being eaten alive or getting impaled.

I remember at the beginning of the game I got caught by that butcher and the death animation had him chopping the guy's arm off and he didn't even flinched, just a little "ugh" grunt.

Meanwhile dead space has nightmare fuel screams from Isaac, especially if you get eaten by the last boss

I enjoyed it immensly. it has high point and low points. it's one of the better horror games out there, but granted that is because there's not much competition in the catagory. one downside it has is that it is not optimized very well so you need a decent rig to run it, though once you have it at max settings it's easily the best looking horror game out there I think is is a big deal because setting and atmosphere are one of the major pillars of the genre

Man that was my favourite part in the entire stupid game, though. When he cracks you with his chainsaw and you're limping to a grate while the saws are closing in. That shit was way better than any section involving a gun.

Kinda wish they would've figure out if they wanted more RE4 like shooting being able to crowd control using the kicks or some sneaky stealth past enemies because they can kill you instantly.

I try to play it stealth then the game throws a section where you have to kill some dudes or a boss that are coming toward you but I barely have any ammo for any strong guns and the MC can't melee shit and can only run for 3 seconds before having to stop which leads to annoying deaths.

It runs like complete shit no matter what hardware you have. If you've got a 120/144hz monitor the game doesn't pace frames correct meaning your frametimes will constantly jump around.
