Been replaying this over the past couple of days. In your opinion, why is it so good?
Resident Evil Thread
It's well paced and the save points are spaced apart that makes you want to play just a little bit longer to reach the next typewriter.
The enemies are programmed so that it feels tense but it doesn't feel like you aren't in control.

So when's REmake 2 coming? Expectations and hopes?
What about expectations and wants for REmake for the rest of the main games?
So when's REmake 2 coming?
At soonest, 2018
>Expectations and hopes?
I expect it to be like REmake, with slight changes but mostly a faithful recreation with fixed camera angle and pre-rendered backgrounds. This is also my greatest hope.
If they get around to making REmake 3, I want to see how they change Nemesis around with modern-day tech. Completely random encounters, on top of the scripted ones, maybe?
it is not.
it ruined resident evil.
turned it in to a shitty TPS action game.
the only thing it did right is it had the cheesiness of the older games in terms of dialog.
"Leon, small world, eh? Well, I see that the President equipped his
daughter with some ballistics!"
>At soonest, 2018
Seriously?
How's the HD version for the PC? Do the Mouse+KMB controls make it too easy or no?
rumors have it 3 is being rolled in to 2. so REmake2 will have 3 campaigns Leon Claire and Jill.
as for my hopes....i have none. im 99% positive they are gonna change it to play like 4 -6. im just really hoping they dont go first person like 7..
We haven't even seen gameplay yet, I imagine production only began when they first announced it.
It's fine, though i use a controller because I need to replicate my gamecube experience as closely as possible.
>2018
nope, they said it was on hold to see if first person is successful so they build it around that
It has great level design, satisfying weapons, hilarious dialogue and the best version of Leon.
It's fantastic, desu senpai
gonna need a source on that one senpai.
>no way fag
hehehe
Source. Now.
>tfw the port of RE4 to the PS2 caused the chain reaction that led to Capcom's terrible decent
You're not wrong, but Revelations 2 was actually solid to be honest.
It's a wombo combo of Leon, the gameplay, the bosses and how it feels like a B-action flick with a heavy horror theme.
Leon is charismatic and either snarks or otherwise make a quip at the villains.
The gameplay takes the whole "stand in place and shoot" and makes it work very well with the way the enemies act and the level design.
Game even managed to make some sack wearing loon with a chainsaw legitimately intimidating.
Not saying its terrible but the port and the events following it lead to the company making terrible decisions with some games pushing through showing there is some amount of passion left, still capcom has saying things lately that makes me worry like how they want MH to appeal to the mainstream market on systems like PS4 and Xbox and they are trying to think of ways to make it accessible to them, their inability to figure out how to pales Dead Rising fans, the odd new direction RE is going I'm guessing they just watched Wrong Turn and though it was cool, and I have to wonder how much of SFV is in MvC4.
>RE7
>Wrong Turn
I agree with most of what you said, but this triggered my retardation. It's Texas Chainsaw Massacre they're aping, not wrong turn.
I just got that vibe when I saw the table scene, I don't watch much horror since I'm a pussy.
But still I feel like RE7 will have some cannibal movie vibes.
>I just got that vibe when I saw the table scene
You mean this scene?
Like I said I don't watch many horror movies
>mfw my parents named me Thomas, and called me "bubba" while growing up.
>mfw I'm a 6'4'' retard with no social skills
>mfw I was born to be Leatherface.
Don't get your hopes up.
That have is vaporware until proven otherwise
do you run around with your hands above your head and wiggle about in the middle of the road?
No, but I haven't has the opportunity too, but I'm not against the idea either
babbys first TPS
how the fuck do i fix the field of view on resident evil 4 hd for pc? making me nauseous as fuck, it is like literally 40 degrees
>haven't had*
Pardon me.
>rumors have it 3 is being rolled in to 2. so REmake2 will have 3 campaigns Leon Claire and Jill.
sounds great
>im 99% positive they are gonna change it to play like 4 -6.
ugh, i hope not
I thought the idea was to make fans of the older ones happy.
God damn it, I hope you misread something.
the idea is to make their investors happy retard
that is the only idea of any company ever
At the time it was refreshing though. The series was getting very samey by that point. I enjoyed it at the time, even if it gave birth to a lot of game mechanics we see everywhere now.
what are the adult TPS's that came out before RE4 that are so great?
playing it on pro right now. It's mg first playthrough on professional and it's just fucking awesome, you have to stay aware and plan your strategies unless you want to die a shitload. Gameplay and atmosphere wise it's brilliant. The self aware dialogue and pure campiness of "whattaya sellin"/buyin' "got some good things on sell stranger" are just classic for example.
>Great atmosphere
>Perfect pacing
>Great visuals for its time
>Amazing audio design and soundtrack
>Fun weapon upgrade mechanic and inventory management
>didnt take itself seriously
>Excellent boss fights
>A few genuine scares thrown in for good measure
>tense as fuck in parts
>gives good sense of accomplishment
>Good level design
>Good variety of enemies
>Endless replayability (Mercenaries, NG+, Separate ways etc.)
I dunno, why is it so good?
I must have completed it 3 or 4 times on Gamecube, then again on Wii, and now I'm replaying it on PS4.
Gamecube control is best. One of the top 5 games of all time. An absolute masterpiece.
You're a retard. RE4 basically started the TPS trend and influenced a shitload of games that came after it with it's over the shoulder perspective including Gears of War, Dead Space and others.
If anyone here is a babby, it's you who probably never played this game when it was first released. Kill yourself, you shitposting faggot.
