The Walking Dead: A New Frontier

Javier is our guy. Walking Dead thread. How do we think that this "New Frontier" group is going to pan out? What's their motives and endgame? Thoughts on the new characters and new Clementine?

bump

Disappointed a bit so far. At least season 1 and 2 was a bit more attention grabbing, playing as some weak minded guy instead of edgy clem isn't do much justice atm.

He seems sorta bland but I still think he's somewhat likable.

bump

He's a pacifist at heart, but he's definitely no Lee or Kenny. He honestly didn't seem that phased from you know who's death unlike Kenny with Duck or that other woman.

He has to go back.

its alright so far. Heres hoping they'll release the next episode this month
Can't wait to tell David how cucked he is

He's cuban

Oh I'm sorry.
He has to go back.

You wanna build a wall in the ocean?
Trump is focusing on Mexican illegal immigrants; Javier doesn't even have an accent.

Is he dead?

>Trump is focusing on Mexican illegal immigrants

oh right, everyone else south of Mexico is welcome.
Hope they can jump the border safely.

Javier's family doesn't even have a cuban spanish accent by the way.
And the word "mijo" is not cuban dialect.

Not what I was saying. If he isn't Cuban, then the wiki is wrong. Your'e embarrassing to supporters, by the way, inserting Trump where it is irrelevant because of a meme.

Clem was up against a wall and threw him at the walkers to distract them while she escaped. This 5 confirms.

you have to go back

Can't say I remember that detail.

My dad works at Telltale. This occurs in Clem's episode 4 flashback.

Will you ask him where Kenny is?

There are a lot of problems with this season. It's actually sad, becuase I think they went in sort of the right direction, if they had to have a new PC and setting.

The one big problem is Clementine's big fat shadow, it was a big fucking design flaw to include her at all both towards her and Javier's character and stories. It screams that Telltale had a idea outside of the main storyline but didn't have the cojones to develop a chapter without Clem in it.

So what we got was half-bakes, rushed and far too action-oriented. Not action oriented as in combat and explosions, but in that the pacing is totally off. They have almost done completely away with the more interactive hubs with smaller puzzles to solve and several topics to talk to characters about. The only hub puzzle in both episodes were the tow truck one when approaching Richmond WHICH WE ALREADY DID IN SEASON 1.

So, the characters. The voice acting is great, I can't remember Telltale being off on this. Like Bioware, it's that one thing they seem to always get right. Besides the acting, there is something fresh to them. Kate was a laid back character that is easy to get to like, the flirting is obnoxious though, I wanted a option to tell her off. I predicted all the way back with the trailers that David was going to turn up again and Mariana was going to die early.

Besides Kate we get Tripp/Eleanor and Gabriel as the only really substantial new characters. Tripp seems like a neat dude and Eleanor was nice, I liked how you could learn different perspectives on them depending on who you went to the junkyeard with. Gabriel I surprisingly liked. He's a kid that's coming to terms with puperty and his own personality, but he's not compeltely useless like Sarah and not as whiny as Ben. It seems like he's actually the main focus this time around, this versions Clementine from season.

Wanted to write more, but word limit. Maybe I'll come back later.

Do come back.
>It seems like he's actually the main focus this time around, this versions Clementine from season.
He's hardly had any screen time or character development though. Also he is unlikable where as Clementine was.

I guess, but your actions seem to be set up to rub off on him like our actions as Lee in the first game. Kate even directly states our influence so I just felt like he was going to be shaped more along our choices than Javier is going to be.

The fact that Clementine is around complicates the mentor thing. I would rather kill Gabe so Clem can be the protege to Javier. Hopefully Gabe redeems himself to be likable.
