Make a game like that movie Real Steel where it's robots fighting instead of people. And then you can swap parts to get stats, passives and also new types of attacks. So you add a scorpion tail for instance and now you can do a piercing attack that deals more damage or whatever instead of holding the button to do a stronger punch. Stuff like that...

Seriously, you can add a ton of stuff to this type of game.

I don't think so. There are formulas that are popular now (roguelites, for instance) that can and have been applied to arcade games to give them a good and new feel. I think it's just lack of indie developers who both liked this game much and also have the skills to do it.

Just be happy the Wii release is excellent. If I were Nintendo I would make sure that AT LEAST every character I put out in the Smash of a certain console should have its game in it. Should be easier with Smash too, and would avoid people asking who the fuck is Captain Falcon all the time. But hey, I'm not Nintendo.

There was actually a Real Steel game.

It was good, but it was ruined by awful pay to win customization microtransactions in a full fledged $20 title.

It was a normal fighting game though. A game like Super Punch Out is its own thing with different type of mechanics that I personally think are much better.

You got a new game. You should be asking where the new Duck Hunt or Ice Climbers is.

Both of those are pretty much low-tier simple to the point they could only be well received as a minigame, an app or an early NES game. Punch-Out has a lot more personality and shit going into it.

The original Punch Out was pretty much on the same level as Ice Climbers when it comes to content. What you're really saying is people won't pay full price for a game without cutscenes and voice acting. It doesn't make Punch Out better as a 'game'.
