Now that the dust has settled can we agree that this was a great game?

Now that the dust has settled can we agree that this was a great game?

It's better than nothing....

sure probly, i dont see why not

Go away Con Man.

Havent been on Sup Forums in a year. What was the reaction?

As someone who actually bought the thing a few days ago, it really is a piece of shit.

The fact that bosses require you to dash into them to damage them while getting hit yourself is pure horseshit, and that's the tip of the horrible ideas iceberg.

>As someone who actually bought the thing a few days ago, it really is a piece of shit.

Refund it.

I promise myself to own it. But I refuse to pay more than 4 dollars for it.

I think I will keep it.

I've been on a kick of playing the shittiest games I can find. Next up is Ride to Hell when it gets a price drop, I'm not paying $25 for irony, especially since most 360 games are dirt cheap now.

Every dollar is another that keeps Comcept afloat. I want them to go bankrupt.

I played it, I think it's alright.

I actually found the dash mechanic kinda neat, makes it more than just another mega man game.

If you wanted to make a thread making fun of the game you could have just asked instead of being a Sup Forums faggot about it.

AVGN episode, when?

>talks shit about Japanese games
>two of the biggest "Comcepts" he makes are rip off of Japanese games

Comcept's titanic levels of incompetence in nearly everything surrounding the game made most people, backers included stop giving a shit months before it even came out. When it finally did except for the Vita & 3DS versions the consensus was that it was a shoddy looking, glitchy Mega Man knockoff at best that not even Sup Forums wanted to make fun of after 3 weeks or so. It's not X7 levels of outright bad, but it's not really good either.

>When it finally did except for the Vita & 3DS versions

better than nothign.

Not to mention even Inti Creates seem to be disowning it, since they had a booth in some anime expo to promote all their latest games at the time with not mention of Mighty No. 2.

At the Expo, Inafune and Inti-Creates were giving a co-presnetation. They only talked about MN9 one in passing.

This was their booth. No Beck or MN9. The MN9 merch was hidden behind the panels with the rest of the extra shit they had.

Then right after that, all Inafune did was give interviews about how great Recore will be.

Their strategy seems to be just to wash their hands of the whole affair.

That's pretty much typical Japanese attitude. If you have a failure, sweep it under the rug and pretend it never happened.

While Mighty No. 9 has very noticeable flaws like weak-looking explosions, some terrible voice acting, and a rambling story, its fascinating take on the combo and dash makes it the most underrated Mega Man game (in spirit). Popular commentary has failed to recognize the ingenuity because too many critics and fans are obsessed with prerelease hype and gossip. Just ignore the Kickstarter groupies. It’s actually fitting this game released within a year of Mega Man Legacy Collection: the series’ legacy would be greater if it showcased more daring, well-executed tweaks on the formula like Mighty No. 9.

What did Con man mean by this?

Inafune has such a smug face. I want to punch him so bad. He's a total fucking hack too. As the Face of the series since the late 90's, he's suceeded by being associated with all the series' successes. But he was never responsible for ANY of it.

I liked it well enough.

>While Mighty No. 9 has very noticeable flaws like weak-looking explosions, some terrible voice acting, and a rambling story,

Shit level design. And not enough new to the series and story to feel like anything but a dollar store Chinese nknock off.

All I'm saying is if MN9 is shit so is Mega Man 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.

I don't think any of those are shit except 8, but I don't think any of them touch 2, 3 and 9 either.

>All I'm saying is if MN9 is shit so is Mega Man 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.

4 is good. 5-6 are meh. 7-8 are bad. 8 is especially terrible.

If you mean if MN9 feels like another soulless rehashed later MM game, then you're right. I'd place it among the later MMX games, like X7 and X8.

It's only great because it gave us Call. Fuck that blue sonic wannabe

Roll > Call

I can maybe understand why the 3DS never got Mighty No. 9 due to hardware differences, but it feels weird that there's no Vita version considering the amount of multiplats on PS3/4/Vita.

>All those Call designs revealed during pre-production
>They went with the obvious Roll ripoff.
Why didn't they pick the one with the pigtails?

Because everyone just wanted a carbon copy of Mega Man, so much that they defended the removal of transformations like the shillshits they are.

Mighty No. 9 suffered from an obvious identity crisis and was doomed to linger in Mega Man's shadow just for the fact that Inafune shilled the whole project based on nothing more than his claim to fame of being the so-called "Father of Mega Man" [dubious] and exploiting the disappointment of Mega Manchildren bitter over the cancellation of Mega Man Legends 3.

5 and 6 are garbage, at least 7 tried to progress the Classic series in some way

Not him, but 7 and 8 felt redundant with the X series being published alongside it. What was the point of Mega Man X if they were still going to make a traditional Mega Man game for 16-bit consoles anyway?

Do you think he's aware he's a con man?
