That really stood my times

that really stood my times

>mgs5 didn't get the WHOOOOOAAAAA award
idiots

I voted for all the worst games. Fuck you Sup Forums

>skyrim test of time
>tfw first 20 minutes i thought it was the game of the year
>every 20 minutes after that i discovered another "feature" that made me like the game less until i absolutely refused to play it without mods.

all my ree.

How old is this again?
Two, three years?

Well, technically Skyrim is as good now as it was when it first came out.

>Test of time
>2007
>2010
>2011
>2011
>2013

>steam's initial release: September 12, 2003

>MGSV didn't win best plot
>To the Moon didn't win Games that made me cry
>TF2 didn't win Test of time
Most Steam users have some real bad taste.

user, Skyrim is over 5 years old.
Yes, really.

>it's been 5 years since The Elder Scrolls: VVe Want the Call of Duty Audience came out

5 years, it's honestly quite old already.

>gta 5 got the whooa award
>literally the shittiest plot in history of gta games gets the plot award

are steam users more plants or fungi

Oblivion should have been there. Not Skyrim.

> AAA and "recently released" AAA-shit tops the charts and votes
> multiple games nominated multiple times, pushing out other titles

Obligatory "no, Morrowind" post

I still think the nominees were rigged by Valve itself.
Maybe these votes are legit but the nominees were rigged.

Let's be honest. Morrowind doesn't stand the test of time.

AoE2 is the only game that deserves to be in this category,
out of the ones provided.

only faggot Sup Forumsirgins and children like Skyrimjob

...

I still listen to, and read what turbo nerds have to say about the lore / faith / motivations / background that the game establishes.

I think that will forever supersede "OMG YOU REMEMBER SKYRIM FUS RO DAH XD" opinions about the game

>that voice acting in that scene

terraria deserved to win both awards it was featured in

>Terraria and Civ V didn't win
Fucking how? Didn't Terraria end up outselling Skyrim by a wide margin? Last I checked, Terraria not only sold >12 million copies, it continued to get support from the developers long past when it became a decent game in its own right.

Even back in 2011, Terraria was far superior to Skyrim. Not that Skyrim was a bad game, just extremely mediocre. Everything about it fails to be bad and good at the same time. It's the most average game I've ever played. Average music, gameplay has its ups and downs, bosses are all samey, areas are all samey, the dungeons are boring and forgettable, but not offensively bad, it lacks any sort of originality, and they removed all the fun builds in previous TES games.

Even TF2 would've been a better choice, because at least the Soldier remains fun.

Clem is for bullying

>all the results prove it was just a popularity contest of games people played fairly recently
>also proves everyone considers games made before 2011 the stone age where everything was 8 bit side scrollers

meteor to destroy this planet fucking when

Not a single game won that deserved it, besides Euro Truck Simulator 2.

Well to be fair Steam didn't have many AAA-games until 2007. If you took the oldest games on Steam with decent current player counts they'd all be either made by Valve or mods of HL 1 or 2.

What's the matter, Sup Forums? Someone stole your sweetroll?

>Singleplayer game
>Five years and still among the top played games on Steam

>TF2 didn't win test of time
>MGSV didn't win WOAAAAH
>Gmod didn't win game within a game

People made up this illusion that their nominees HAD to be games on Steam, not just video games in general. People further have this illusion that Steam didn't exist before 2010. Floridians can vote better than this.

So, why did GTAV win the WHOOOOOAAAAA award? I didn't play the game but I'm curious about it.

The Howard can't be overpowered.

because it's "WHOOOOOAAAAA dude, let's play some other game, this one is so fucking boring."

Because it's popular.

Too bad Fallout 4 didn't win, eh Todd?

Casuals that buy into marketing and hype and think that marketing and hype make the game "epic."

Still looks better than most games released today

polished turd is still a turd

DELET

I really don't often go this road but these awards have shown that the average Steam user really has some bad taste.
Please don't think this is meant to be platform war bait, I'm a PCuck.

Dying Light looks better than that.

90% of the map is shitty snow, though

>2013
>updating the maximum resolution and slapping in steam workshop makes it a new game

Sup Forums's newest 100 best games ever list isn't much better.

Nah, man. I'm an avid Steam user and I agree with you. These awards are basically "hey, I've heard about these games before".

really made me think

Let's be real, the award should go to the entire fucking Bethesda modding community.

>I still think the nominees were rigged by Valve itself.
Maybe, it's obvious that "Best Use of a Farm Animal" was designed to be "Goat Simulator: The Award"

this, it's baffling how much love those games get

The Steam Awards felt like Valve taking a jab at the overabundance of identical game award shows out there nowadays so they decided to have some fun with some weird and inventive categories in the hopes that they could give out some awards to lesser-known or less decorated games but it completely backfired since the majority of the Steam community treated half the categories like a game of the year/decade/century award rather than think about the most appropriate game for that category

Even the community write-in categories can essentially be summed up as "Best Explosions" "Hardest Game", "Best Casual Game" and "Best Multiplayer". Completely obvious and uncreative

I bet most of the people voting only ever play CS, DOTA, TF, and its variant.
I am also Pkek, this is rather worrying.

Did I miss something here?

>GTAV also won "game within a game"

more like вceгo бoлee 5 минyт AMARIGHT

Perfectly said.

I'm at a loss for words too. How did it win game within a game as well?

Captcha:

With the categories being as dumb fuck as they are then you really couldnt expect anything less than a dumb result

>I still listen to, and read what turbo nerds have to say about the lore / faith / motivations / background that the game establishes.

Codex has you covered, brah.

The category itself is nothing strange or dumb, though, it's actually absolutely clear.

The categories were not bad
People are just retards
This is why democrazy is flawed

The public gets what it deserves

>>MGSV didn't win best plot
user, at least try to be subtle with your bait

>all categories have basically winners that are either relatively recent games or games that were mainstream/meme hits in some aspects

I wonder how long we've been in the age when most people haven't even played most of the games that were nominated because they're too young or games are too old. Entire "Just Five More Minutes" literally has one valid candidate, for example.

The villian that REALLY needed a hug was Elexis.

I agree. There's a point when you stop defending morons from themselves.

>GTA V gets the "Wooahh" award
Normies confirmed for being the dumbest shits ever.

Just wanted a card and chose the first thing that popped in their head probably

>Giving any kind of attention to the steam awards

Why did any of you think it would be anything better than what it is?

Of course they were. Nomination wasn't a voting process.

You think Overlord will get a S2?

Because it's the first open-world game a majority of the voters played. And for all its flaws, it has amazing production values

>Madhouse
>S2
Pick one.

>golden hour
>depth of field

I miss when good graphics meant high-quality textures, meshes, and animations, rather than just cranking up all the post-processing to create fancy-looking screenshots

>Mgsv didnt win "easiest reason to fire that retard hack kojima"

wow

Alright. Why?

Why did GTAV, a game with a formula of "Steal cars, shoot gangs, do missions" that has been repeated fifteen zigatillion times in other GTA-like game starting from GTAIII won? Was it the interchangable character mechanic? was it the "multiplayer experience"?

Skyrim winning test of time is bullshit because most of it is just le modders that makes it even standable.

In other news, what did you voted for?

I find it funny how concept art follows this trend too. Instead of having correct perspective, construction and anatomy, concept artists will use a plethora of filters such as blur to make the image more attractive and hide mistakes.

I thought for sure it would be COD 2

>TF2 didn't win Test of time

Yeah because Overwatch came along and rendered TF2 obsolete.

>Not a single prize, like a badge or a card, for guessing one or more winners
Valve really dropped the ball this time with all badges and shit.

I'm kind of upset that the game that was shit since day one is a "test of time" winner.

It might look pretty but Morrowind is mechanically superior and has better art direction.

Oh good, I was about to make this thread myself. Good thing I checked the catalog.

Can someone please explain to me what the deal with normies and their love for Skyrim is? I don't get it at all.

Back during the announcement, it was hyped to the max by press and long time TES fans.
Unfortunately, it turned out shit. TES fans dropped it like a rock but the hype they generated was too big to be stopped. Casuals, with their low gaming standards, loved it and the rest is history.

its babbys first and only rpg game, the fus ro dah meme etc.

If AoE: II wasn't there I would've just rolled my eyes and sighed. Now I'm just mad.

The only game that even deserved to be on that list was AoEII

>all the winners have a sale.
>skyrim is $20

Nice.

I'd say tf2 is not an out of the world choice. If course AoE was the one deserving to win.
The really infuriating choices are Skyrim, CivV and Terraria. Especially Terraria.

Still mad it wasn't Blood and Bacon.
