Yeah and I bet like 4 of those classes are "The best" and people only make them for high level content because the rest don't have one specific skill in the meta builds.

dude i know that feel. Grand chase was the more enjoyable game imo, but the job extension requirements were bull because pvp was busted, but damn it got good towards the end...

some classes are the best yes, just like in any other game the balance is not perfect.

However you should play whatever you enjoy the most

Exactly! GC had way more fluid gameplay while Elsword feels clunky and ankward, since it requires absolutely NO SKILL

I never played Grand Chase, but i think Elsword is very smooth. i never felt like it's clunky

Technically you can see a massive amount of players at cities. i mean, doesn't it count? i think it still classifies as a mmo

It doesn't count because otherwise souls games and fable 2 are mmos too. Same reaspn why just having stats doesn't make an rpg.

A genre can be composed of subgenres but cannot regroup disparate genres, else you can't tell who's referring to what version of a genre. If I ask about mmos, I can expect mmofps and mmorpg answers, but not generic multiplayer game options. Mmos are based around the socializing aspect and hence require that the gameplay itself happens with players around especially in an unordered, uncheckpointed dropin dropout way (so matchmaking doesn't count but moving into a random instance does). Mmoidling is just a general chat around a non-m mo.

On the other hand, if a game was such that the combat is just another minigame while the main activities happen in the hubs (perhaps like an mmo rune factory), then it would qualify as an mmo.

Honestly I don't know where you guys come from. A few years ago you started appearing and now you're everywhere. Before then, every one on Sup Forums understood the distinction. It's especially bad with /mmog/ being explicitly about non-m mos.

Any time I try to play Elsword I get hype for it then Download it and then don't play it.

I play CN Eve though, maybe that has something to do with it.

I also forgot how to attack chain with her so I'm extra trash.
