Do you like this game?
I think it's pretty great.
Shadow of Destiny
Maybe I'll download a save so I can skip through the cutscenes I remember.
I was really surprised Homonculous is voiced by Charles Martinet
it's okay.
at least it's unique
Pretty solid story for a game about time traveling.
The only thing I know about it is that instance where you have to save yourself from dying by preventing the tree that concealed the killer from ever being planted.
Are there more ludicrous time travel bollocks moments like this?
Isn't the game filled with those?
Like traveling back in time to get a frying pan/pot to protect you from getting stabbed.
One of the first games I bought for my ps2.
That one made sense, as it didn't really matter what you used to protect your back, the tree thing was silly for how anything but the dinky fountain could be used by the killer to hide.
What do you mean by anything? The tree could only be changed into the fountain or a statue of the protagonist, which made for a terrible hiding spot as well.
changing a tree hiding spot would result in the murderer never hiding behing that tree/spot
putting a pot on your back means the murderer would still stab you since he doesn't know about the protection.
I watched the Retsupurae LP way back when
it looked kind of hokey but also interesting concept
But that's the thing. No more tree means the killer doesn't hide and doesn't try to kill you from the hiding spot. It moves on to the next murder attempt.
Read, I said anything for Eike's back when he's walking in the street. It didn't have to be the pan.
He could still hide, the game was just using camera Bulls hit to hide Hugo.
The idea was that the leaves covered him and made him hard to spot when he killed Eike. But you're right, he could've still stood behind the statue or around a corner. But then he could also try stabbing Eike multiple times in different spots or just grab a gun. The limits of gameplay have to kick in at some point.
I thought you meant anything but the fountain still allowed for proper hiding. Am I misreading your post really bad here?
OR Eike's could have just fucking said to Dana, let's go over here away from this tree.
I remember trying to use a streetsign/license plate, and Eike still got stabbed.
I played the PSP versoin a few years back. I think it's a must play because of how unique it is.
Also, if you haven't played Time Hollow it's also a pretty nice time shenanigans game.
Or having to find an obscure cure for a particular kind of poison put in your food when you could just? I don't know, go back before you are the food and just not eat it?
>before you are the food
I like how he went back into the past to buy a frying pan to not get stabbed.
Same writer.
That is the only thing this game has going for it imo
>you die as a human or live enough to become the food
Did not know that. Not all that surprising but interesting to know.
The game's way of explaining why you can't do that is saying the time traveling device you use reacts to specific time periods and only lets you travel to those for a fixed amount of time before having to go back to the present.
>die for the first time
>treated to Mario Homonculus cutscene, brought back to life
>die again
>long-ass Game Over screen, and you're brought back to the main menu
That's some bullshit.
Did you touch yourself in the cafe?
How's replayability?Multi endings?Unlocks and other shit?
That sounds dirty without the proper context.
Pretty sure that it didn't have to be just the pan.
Could have sworn only the fountain was accepted and nothing else.
It almost entirely consists of contrived plot devices and I hate time travel in general, but I still love it for some reason. It's an interesting game.
It's a cool idea, I miss games like this.
A bit janky and very weird but still at least it's not another fucking generic trash game.
Unique game.
This. Videogames used have a twisted logic that made you feel that you were playing a videogame. I don't know how explain it really...
Sorry for my shitty ortography. The hangover of new years day...
Still the best time travel/infinite dimension theory games done.
The story and after getting all the endings and the true endings are mind blowing.
Also I was surprised that the writer wrote Suikoden 1 and 2 as well.
Is the writer working in something else?
Agreed, this is when japanese wanted to tell a story without all the self-insert Kiritos that are happening lately
