Steady, girl. If we're called, we answer
>Zoinks, Scoob. If we're called, we'll, like, answer.
>Unrory fourress! I rirr rake rou riff me!
Tide Turner general?
did they release the patch to cut back on the grind yet?
>girl
they're adding an easy mode?
Maybe in the dlc?
Not yet.
Yeah.
Thanks
>the dog never gets hurt

New Mode: RADIANT. One of the most common critiques of the game is that the significant length to completion (approximately 80+ hrs on average, though this varies widely) can lead to some players abandoning their campaigns, especially after a particularly nasty party-wipe with a valuable trinket loadout. Game length also exacerbates some of the grindier elements of the game’s design. While a portion of this endurance test is simply Darkest Dungeon as we intend it, we also would love for more players to be able to see the story through. So, we are planning an alternative game mode (RADIANT), which will have balance changes and rule tweaks aimed at bringing the completion time down to approximately 40 hours. Rest assured that even in this alternate campaign ruleset, we won’t be compromising on some of the core ideas that make DD what it is (e.g. permadeath, autosaving). However, we will flex here and there on some things and generally structure it so that a reasonable investment of time and effort can see things through to the deepest parts of the Ancestor’s trail. This also paves the way for additional modability, via exposing more options.
>Putting reynauld and dismas in different groups
>Letting them die
How can you put them in a different group when they die in the intro?
I lost Dismas in an unlucky raid along with a level 4 arbalest. I'm hoping that the resurrection event happens again and I can reunite the brothers
Your wife is shit.
Underrated kek
How quickly does the tide turn?
I straight up reset if I lose Reynauld or Dismas.
If I can't redeem the family, then I'll see those two men redeemed instead.
>Shambler posting on Sup Forums.png
>WE'RE IN FOR IT NOW SCOOB
Extremely. But there's always hope.
Within a month or so I believe.
Almost done with that dark run eh? Get through that Shambler fight okay? It'd be a shame if something where to get in the way of that.
Get outta here.
...
I'm okay with this
>Have about 8~12 dudes who are all within a reasonable level range
>Something retarded happens and one or two of them dies
>several team compositions are now compromised and have to wait and raise more of that character
>except they'll just be a huge burden on any team so you instead need to do missions with more low level dudes just to replace that one dude
>while you do low level missions you can't do high level missions
>Just end up stagnating forever
Also fuck that weird chimey noise when you mouse over anything- christ
>hug doggo to heal
Spare the others. I am ready.
*Snort*
That is seriously the best healing skill ever
>grinding
You don't even have to grind, why do i keep hearing about this grinding meme all the time
>you don't even have to grind
>just do the same shit over and over again for dozens of hours
it's called progress. Do you want to start with Level 6 characters and do DD immediately ?
You literally do runs with throwaway characters and an antiquarian just to get gold
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
The skill is called lick wounds iirc. Something I love is the implication of wyrd reconstruction. It heals 0-14 and may cause bleeding for a few turns. It's both mechanically interesting and flavorful. I imagine the occultist to speak in a haughty English accent, except when he's shouting in Deep One. Where instead he has his Arab(?) accent
>it's called progress
What progress? Doing the exact same shit over and over again but now with bigger numbers?
>everyone starts missing all the time except for the enemies
Nah. It's more than that. Discovering new strategies, getting attached to your crews, taking good care of them afterwards, it's all good.
>guy on the verge of stressing the fuck out
>its fine, just kill at least half the enemies, we got it
>all miss or low roll
>EVERY enemy hit crits
Jesus fuck
>runs with throwaway characters
i actually used all my characters, as you need many for DD.
Thank christ. I never bitched about difficulty, I enjoyed it. But fuck everything about this game with how grindy it is.
Awful lot of threads lately. Waiting for nogrind mode.
How is it going to be lower grind? more xp? Gaining xp was part of the problem for me, I wanted to do more runs at 2 and 4 instead of going to medium and hard dungeons
I've never once lost to the Collector, what is this meme
Probably easy to tune shit like 200%-300% more gold and 100% more xp or something.
I dicked around with some ini files after a playthrough and upping the gold rewards for missions really did cut down on a fair amount of the BS.
>cant even complete a short lvl 3 dungeon
Am i doing something wrong or does RNjesus hates me?
Imagine plague doctor doing an autopsy on people the occultist has healed a lot.
>oh my god that's not how things are supposed to be
>hey, he didn't complain. aside from when he started bleeding sometimes
>look at this shit! I can't believe he lived this long, because his internal structure makes no sense anymore!
He's just a punishment if you try to be too greedy.
He fucked my day up when I had a party generally low on health and stress and decided to go to a fight in another room before camping as we had enough to cope with most fights, then he shows up, stresses everyone out, highwayman skull got crits for days and I essentially got buttfucked into next week.
If you fight him with a reasonably healthy and not-shit party then yeah he's pretty tame.
>Discovering new strategies
Good luck trying new strategies when a suboptimal one can lead to a party wipe (and therefore more grinding)
>getting attached to your crews, taking good care of them afterwards
That's just rationalizing your grinding
You're definitely doing it wrong.
I really want to like this game, but I haven't seen this much "fuck you" RNG since I tried to get into Binding of Isaac.
The most bizarre thing about the Collector is that he has the head of Dismas...which is bizarre beyond reason if you manage to keep Dismas to the very end of the game.
it's almost like things have been going in circles
That, the darn douche is a space/time/dimension traveling creature.
>TFW you give Dismas his own head
>TFW you give the other characters their own heads
This is freaking out...
Picked this game up about an hour ago, just been doing easy quests over and over trying to maintain enough gold to keep stress down and level up, any tips for a noob?
get yourself a couple of hard pipe hittin niggas and go medieval on their asses
Each area has resistances. Ruins and Cove don't bleed easily. Warrens don't blight. Weald is a mix. Be careful. Flee if you're afraid of death.
the first time i played dd i actually thought they were supposed to die because they got critted multiple times in a row and failed every stun
>Occultist's Wyrd Reconstruction is the best healing skill
>Vestal is best girl
>put a torch in the red globe altar when you see it
>>Occultist's Wyrd Reconstruction is the best healing skill
This I can agree to. Pair with Arbalest for extra bonuses.
>>Vestal is best girl
Depends.
>>put a torch in the red globe altar when you see it
I see what you did here.
...
aka scrub crutch
does anyone have the venn diagram of narrator's sayings
Just tried this game and it feels like I'm in a constant struggle to just complete these missions at all, let alone "progress."
>first couple of missions with Reynauld and Dismas go okay
>Reynauld's like a rock, acquiring no stress and going in time after time, Dismas keeps having to stop for beer and whores
>fourth mission in Reynauld takes a lot of stress, send him to pray
>finally get to try out the Abomination
>Abomination just being the Abomination stresses everyone the fuck out, doesn't even do particularly good damage
>Abomination ends up dying and the group barely clears the dungeon
>Reynauld wandered off on a Holy Vision (motherfucker)
>next dungeon lose a plague doctor as my only healer the Vestal was lowering stress
>Reynauld wanders for another week
>Dismas almost dies in the next dungeon, forced to flee
>dungeon was expensive, little money left
>roster of level 1 shitters
Dude
hire level 1 suicide squads supplied with literally nothing and make them do lvl 1 quests
you get free stuff for no cost
even if they die they're expendable and you can just throw them away
I loved the game and all but boy was I getting a little fed up with the final grind to push through the finale
while your suicide squads do work you can leave your A-listers in town to slowly recover stress without paying a dime
later when you have a few decent teams you just rotate them out to save on therapy costs
oh wow i totally forgot about this
try to get a jester for stress management
he is also fun to instagib monsters with, using solo-finale combo
also if rng didnt give you jester in a stage coach, press enter while on a stage coach screen and type in "Baelyn"
>doesn't have the heads of each class
Wasted potential: the mini-boss.
it was kinda spoopy the first time i met him, as my party also had dismas, manatarms and vestal
...
It would be literally impossible to prepare for, so it's not unreasonable.
Use Jesters and Houndmasters for stress heals, they'll make you save LOADS of money
Seriously I'm not kidding I never have to send someone to the tavern or the church unless they're afflicted, stress also heals over time when your mercs are idle.
Managed to upgrade the Guild Hall and Smithy to max within ~25 weeks by not wasting any ressources on the church nor the tavern.
HOW QUICKLY THE TIDE TURNS
...
What's everyone's thoughts on all the classes? Any good DLC classes/stuff out there? I remember trying out Maiden a while back (I think that's what she was called) and she seemed pretty broken.
Good party comps?
also plaguemaster for free disease heals during camping
This
thanks user
wasn't there a version with more of these?
>free disease heals during camping
Grave Robber is better at this.
Abominations, Hellions and Occultists are fucking shitte.
Only one I've saved, sorry.
*the fucking shitte
...
**fucking steaming shitte
>Abominations
Aww, I remember really liking them last I played. But I was kinda bad so.
Wheres the lewd?
plague doctor's armpits
man at arms thread?
I don't get how people can't get party-wiped when you can ALWAYS retreat from a fight. Even if the first attempt to retreat fails you have 1 attempt per round per party member how can you even be so retarded as to not know when you should get the fuck out
>Dismas dies
>2 weeks later get the random even that allows you to resurrect one fallen hero from 3 randomly-selected ones
>Had like 50 dead heroes in that graveyard
>Dismas pops up
I don't give a shit if he was lvl 3 while the other two were lvl 4 and 5
THIS
LINE
WILL
NOT
BREAK
Only complaint I had with the game.
Having a great time but god DAMN is it a fucking grind to get enough shit to even attempt the Darkest Dungeon.
>crit riposte
...
>Take out the highwayman summon
>take out the collector
>Vestal and MaA summons never attack and just buff themselves
>Use this time to stall and completely heal and de-stress my party
>since there are 2 enemies left rather than 1, the anti-stalling system never kicks in
wew that was hard
