this the new thread? will the bb and ds guy still argue?
Dark Souls games past the first one sucked shit
Go play Dark Souls ONE (1) and stop bitching
>fpbp
>liking ds3
I REALLY want neogaf to leave
What do you guys want in the last dlc?
more items or more story?
I'm assuming you go back in the painting to give that loli the paint.
>likes das2 more than 3
I want reddit to leave. REALLY BADLY.
>you will never play Dark Souls
no there both shitty rehashes that don't belong to a once great series. Bloodborne was good
>FPBP
DaS3 was by far the most reddit game in the series
>you will never have a different game than dark souls 2
>the most reddit game in the series
What did he mean by this?
FPBP!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank God
>tfw I loved DS2 BECAUSE of its horrendous quality
Seriously, I haven't laughed at a game like that for ages.
Tbh Demon's Souls had the best Bosses for the AREA.
Boletaria had the knights guarding the false king. And the miniboss Wyverns swooping your ass.
Stonfang was filled with slave monsters, caves filled with giant ass spiders, a flaming guardian berserker, and the fucking Dragon God.
The swamps had those dirty ass colossi, and a fallen saint at the end of the taint.
Creepy ass bosses for the Tower of Latria.
And the Shrine of storms was a little odd, I think it was to do with a civilisation that murdered itself or so the Adjudicator is supposed to show.
Interconnected worlds lack 'culture' when compared to disconnected ones, like how the painted world is compared to Lordran.
Having bosses guarding other area's is whack as fuck. Unless they are specifically a 'guard' boss, like the Boss of Senn's fortress. But having guard bosses everywhere is also tiring.
Disconnected worlds are better. They have more culture to them.
Who are you quoting?
It was a fan game made by a comittee of casuals that completely missed the point. Just like DkS3
eh I just want Fromsoft to forever give up on sequels. Just make every souls-like a unique IP with small mechanics changes.
What's with all the hate for DaS 2, anyway?
I didn't like the world too much either, but the combat feels a lot more fluid to me and I prefer the choice of weapons over DaS 1 as well.
Other than that, I didn't even notice many differences between the games at all.
Not trying to shitpost or anything, I'm genuinely curious why it's considered to be so much worse than the first one.
This.
DeS also didn't have this Fantasy Land feel due to being disconnected. DaS crams all the tropes in what plays as a small village. Better world design my ass.
pvp autismos dont like it.
>muh builds
>What's with all the hate for DaS 2, anyway?
Same thing that happens with any game that gets a sequel, newest one is shit, one perfect is fine or perfect
>What's with all the hate for DaS 2, anyway?
Shit gameplay
Shit bosses
Shit areas
Shit atmosphere
Shit OST
Shit PvP (You're fucking retarded)
Shit enemies
Shit designs
Shit lore
And it looked like shit.
Now see some retard try the "S-subjeeectiiiiiveeeeee" card.
It's different so all those hours learning DaS1 were wasted in DaS2. Instead of dealing with the new mechanics, people blame the game not catering to their nonexistent skill.
It's also ugly as fuck.
>It's also ugly as fuck.
I disagree.
>Shit gameplay
>Shit bosses
>Shit areas
>Shit atmosphere
>Shit OST
>Shit PvP
>Shit enemies
>Shit designs
>Shit lore
>And it looked like shit.
You mean like DaS1?
I have no clue whatsoever what you mean by culture if you think a disconnected world creates it. Having a bunch of different areas with no connection to each other feels like bullshit after you play a game like DaS or BB. BB has a themtically gothic and dark, so that's the 'culture' (which is a horrible word to use, by the way). What the fuck is DeS's 'culture'?
You're just nostalgic for your entry to the series. I played DaS before DeS so I am also biased, but what you're saying sounds like complete bullshit
Yeah, that surely looks on par for 2014/15.
To be honest it's not a deal breaker for me.
I like ps1/ps2 era graphics. It's distinct enough to call it an artstyle.
(You)/10
(You)s ARE back for newfags, right?
You do realise that I can choose screenshots of DS1 that make it look like shit too right?
The worst part is that, that DLC is the only good looking thing about that shitfest.
I've played DS1, DS2 and DS3 and I liked them all. They all have problems but I love them all.
Disconnected world map, same-y bosses, poor area design, fucking Soul Memory, lack of memorable areas. Lost Izalith might be shit but there DS2 doesn't have anything like Anor Londo.
I honestly don't mind the graphics, however it is pretty ugly in some places. I guess it's because they wanted to cover it up with details effects and lightning but kinda just left it as is.
At least that one tried to hide its ugliness under tons of filters for most of the time.
>Having a bunch of different areas with no connection to each other feels like bullshit after you play a game like DaS or BB
There is nothing wrong with self contained experiences. Do you hate cowboy bebop as well?
Meanwhile DS2 often looked as if the level designer was fucking with you.
"Culture" is a garbage word for your purposes and your arguments are flat
There are mechanical strengths to having an interconnected world - when you finally unlock a shortcut, it's like a bit of breathing room in between hauls in DaS and BB. Tactical placement and scarcity of bonfires/lanterns makes this kind of level design hugely rewarding.
It also makes the worlds feel bigger. Think about, for example, gunning it from Sen's Fortress all the way down to the Bed of Chaos. That whole passage is interconnected. And there's many ways down. That's sick. Compare that to any of the DeS areas...
Care to elaborate a bit? What exactly is it that you don't like about those?
Specifically, I'd be interested in hearing what you don't like about the gameplay, atmosphere and enemies
>What's with all the hate for DaS 2, anyway?
For me it's mostly a hate for its autistic, obnoxious Stockholm syndrome-ridden playerbase which is by far the worst part of souls community as a whole.
I mean, DS2 is certainly a weak game that has a myriad fuckups in virtually every aspect, with some of the worst balancing decisions series has ever seen (soul memory being the worst offender). Hell, i'd say it's one of the weakest Fromsoft games overall, not counting horrible trash like Ninja Blade. But by itself it just doesn't deserve the massive shitposting constantly happening around it but its autistic fanbase just can't let people forget about it.
L O L
>explore area
>color palette swaps all of the sudden and distance gets obscured
10/10 immersive experience
>We will never have dark souls 3 without the shitty bloodborn gameplay
It hurts.
Well for one thing, that's a retarded comparison. And I never said there is anything wrong with it, but a interconnecting world is far more interesting.
So have most people in this thread, but it's pretty agreed upon that DS2 is complete shit that Reddit likes for some reason.
>circle around old knight in heide and attack him
>his model literally spergs out, twisting him like a twig from one direction to another
this was an exact moment when i understood that i'm going to play the fuck out of this just to laugh like a madman
The DaS1 fanbase is by far the worst community in video game history.
>with some of the worst balancing decisions series has ever seen
Did you even try magic in DS1?
Did you even play luck DeS?
DS2's balancing is mostly fine
the world is interconnected
the iron keep just doesn't make any fucking sense
DS1 had by far the largest amount of quality content creators during its lifetime.
They all died out during DS2 and were replaced with pvp faggots trying to make a competitive game out of it.
So DS2's community is much, much worse.
>opinions
It plays much worse than BB. But it least it plays better than the abortion that was Dark Souls 1.
Nearly every connection doesn't make sense, even some in the same level like the elevator and corridor from the ship up to the Lost Bastille.
Dark Souls 2 is interconnected.
Just not in a way that makes sense.
>Tfw I like all 4 of the Soul's games a ton
> 350hrs in DeS, 450 in DaS, 300 in DaS2, 175 in DaS3
>Think DaS2 is fine, especially Scholar
What basis were you arguing on? Is it a fact that self contained experiences are good?
But they're all good. DS2 is my favorite
DS2's balance fuckups lie much deeper than just one build being overpowered. It's broken at its core thanks to fundamentally fucked up decisions like agility, nearly limitless lifegems or soul memory.
In a literal sense, yeah. But not in a way that is logical or interesting.
its a meme you dip
I think its just a combination of it not living up to the goal posts left by DS1 and the fact that it was not made by the same team.
Find me one as bad as this.
This shit reminds me of RE4 port for pc.
It's not really a meme though. The game is by far the worst in the series.
You now remember how retardedly OP Faith builds were in DS2 for the first few months.
they really fucked the textures in this game
...
>FPBPing yourself
Pathetic. At least have the decency to samefag it instead
Remember when this trailer hit?
youtube.com
>dat music
>dat atmosphere
>dat armor
>dat dragon
>dat world
The actual game was just such a disappointment.
I actually would say that Ivory is the worst-looking DLC. Two other ones at least try to mask repeating textures. Ivory is so fucking full of them it's just laughable.
I said there is nothing wrong with them. You implied they are worse than the shit you like.
Stop wasting my time.
A perfect example of delusional DS2 fans. You literally think there are no big balancing issues. Jesus.
whoa...so this is....the power....of.......shitposting......
really maeks me think................
Worst game in the series.
Stop posting anytime.
Doesnt seem much worse than the N64 grass textures and 2D sprite trees in Forest of the Fallen Giants tbqh famalamadingdong
All souls games have lots of issues, but ds1fags like to pick on 2 for some reason because they have autism
>implying you are not already wasting your time by being on Sup Forums
DS1 confirmed literally unplayable, DS2 haters BTFO
top kek!
This postprocessing shit is present throughout the dark souls series, don't try to act like it's only present in one of the games.
They like to pick on 2 because it doesn't compare to DaS1, nerd.
You ought to keep the DOF off for comparisons like that. It obscures any possible differences in the background.
>fundamentally fucked up decisions like agility, nearly limitless lifegems or soul memory
Nigga there is a totally pointless trapstat called Resistance that fuck up everyones first character thanks to no respec and SL matchmaking.
You can also farm infinite fullheal items that combined with poise and lag just ruin the multiplayer.
DaS2 is much better designed for multiplayer than the other games.
>game looks like shit if i make the areas visible that aren't supposed to be visible
DaS1 managed to make the transitions immersion breaking. For me it's worse than the fucking elevator in DaS2.
>DS1 player model has better textures than the DS3 player model
What did FROM mean by this?
DS1 has blighttown, demon ruins and lost izalith - they're all horrible levels that seem a bit unfinished and they're a slog to get through
also the multiplayer is barely functional even at the best of times
ds2's multiplayer works a lot better despite soul memory being a thing
Didn't know that I had to play DS2 from a top-down perspective.
See, this is why i hate DS2 faggots.
>say something bad about DS2
>B-BUT OTHER GAMES
The only thing bad about it is the instantness. If it was blended over time there would be no issues whatsover. Moreover you have to be pretty fucking autistic if you think something like that is worse than the elevator.
>you will never play a Dark Souls 2 that From took a couple of years extra to develop
instead the dumb nips went and released it as fast as possible
The Volcano was supposed to be there, it's still there in the concept art used for the bonfire screen. It never made it into the final game for whatever reason.
...
good job dastard
Removing fog and light is one way to make a game look like shit.
>ds2's multiplayer works a lot better
see
What do you expect when people are basically arguing "X game is shit! Y game that basically does all the shit Im complaining about is much better!"
What's even funnier is that the mountain is covered in snow.
