In Elite Dangerous, when I drop out of hyper drive infront of a brown dwarf or black hole I am overwhelmed by the shear size of the damn things

Underwater stages, with sea life.

my mum had mad paranoia delusions and she used to drink heavily and just start screaming and crying in the middle of the night which fucked me up for years cos other stuff was going on, but because that used to just wake me up and be a constant reminder, it was rough.

But yeah, one of the doors in Bloodborne where you knock and an NPC speaks was just of a woman screaming and it totally got to me even though i love the game I had to sit out for a bit. Not really a phobia, but still horrid

Fallout 3 and New Vegas when I find giant insects

Shit son. Never played bloodborne, but I feel sorry for ya. Was it that bad?

just the ocean

Playing the re7 demo in vr. When you crawl through the panel after watching the video looking down into the hole. I leaned forward pretty far to see if I could fall in. I'm not afraid of heights to the point of where it locks me up but I get that "butterflies in stomach" feeling. Felt that leaning forward looking into the hole.

is your mom ok now?

was pretty bad man, I actually moved out in July 2016 to my own flat for a while but my flatmate was a psycho and tried to extort £750 from me and wouldn't pay bills so i moved back home recently

she's better, thanks for asking, but she's still saying and doing weird shit and she thinks there's plots against her etc. bad times

alright, let's hope your mom goes better

take care user

Does this scare you?

You should play subnautica

> mfw first person wipeouts in STEEP

My girlfriend's mother has terrible paranoid delusions too. Actually thinks some weird shit like the TV is spying on her and her own kids were replaced by cloned agents. Causes so much shit. She's naturally an asshole too so that makes it much worse.
I dunno about your mom, but I find it personally hard to sympathize with that sort of shit after what I've seen.

I've experienced vertigo and acrophobia in several first-person games.

Outlast is the only horror game I just could not fucking play after the first few hours for how dark it got sometimes. and then seeing people's eye glint off the camera.

Mirror's Edge is fucking fantastic for getting me riled up. Hate heights and falling from buildings or looking down a particularly tall one gives me bad chills every time. I love it.

Fuck, is that webm real? I fucking hate people who do shit like that.

>Hate heights and falling from buildings or looking down a particularly tall one gives me bad chills every time.
I thought this was everyone?

yeah the negatives outweigh the sympathy, i totally agree. i've got more of an outside perspective now that i've been away for a time but last year i just wanted done with it all

just knowing how gravity works should prevent any sane human from doing anything like that

No. I'm not a pussy.

Ugh i have something similar to that. My home life for a good amount of years was pretty awful. Sometimes when there were big fights in my house my sister would lose her mind and start screaming like a damn banshee. I was at a showing of island of dr moroe at my school and in one of the scenes a girl had to scream bloody murder because she was getting torn open. I remember starting to tremble and have flashbacks of when i hated living at my house. I hate hearing women scream.

Nah, only heightlets get scared by simply looking down.

I don't know how much of a cuck you have to be to be scared of heights. The only scary thing in the world is the prospect of dying a virgin.

No mother should have to worry about their child being replaced by a synth.

Thiiiiiis. Fuck Space Engineer and fuck black holes

worrying if your child is a robot or not is what makes us truly human to be honest

F.E.A.R series got me good. Haven't beaten any of them despite liking 1 so much.

Subnautica

the sp**ders in spelunky :(
I quit the game because of them

shit never fails to make my hands sweat

deep water/ocean was always my big fear until I thought of being one of the 9/11 jumpers and realized that fear as well

Spiders?

>>
>she's better, thanks for asking, but she's still saying and doing weird shit and she thinks there's plots against her etc. bad times

She sounds like a trump voter. I'm sorry, bro but there is no cure for stupid

she actually went around the house after he won the election and put little notes on all the doors and windows with "Donald Trump is not welcome in this house, he is a sexist, racist etc etc" and i had to take them all down

she's a bit dumb, but it's mental illness; paranoia and agoraphobia and depression

not to mention we live in scotland so

Yeah my phobia is a fear of being trapped in the gravity well of a Black Hole and being unable to escape and knowing you're going to die a horrible death.

So Starfox for the SNES and X-Com Interceptor were pretty horrendous for me

>knowing you're going to die a horrible death

Would you actually know that though?

I don't believe we actually KNOW what happens to a human bean when he falls into a black hole

my first fall in mirror's edge was somewhere around the third of the game and i was so immersed at that point that it was truly terrifying... especially that loud noise in your ears

I'm with this user. Underwater levels make my hair stand on end. But I bought Subnautica anyway. Just going from biome to biome is enough to make my chest constrict.

You would be slowly ripped apart atom by atom because of the immense gravity closer to the center of the blackhole being way denser than it's exterior. The gravity is so much that time slows as you get closer to the middle, so again, slowly pulled apart atom by atom

>le science negro

"no"

...

Thats just some niggers theory.
Interstellar told me that Black Holes are just space-time wormholes.

Far Cry 4. Swimming deeper underwater to the point where it was getting pitch black, made me panic. Never got that from a game before

Islamophobia and Homophobia, all the fucking time in North America's gaymes.

This. I'm afraid of the water in most games, especially Witcher 3.

>have a fear of heights
>not bothered at all by mirror's edge because it's a videogame
same with spiders and other shit
i just don't get how games can trigger people like that, it's just a game

I had a bad case of dizziness once. After that i couldn't play any game featuring a semblance of heights for some reason. It was fucking horrible.

Now it's somewhat better thanks to anxiety levels being a bit lower, but still, i understood what phobia meant.

This part in half life was pretty spooky

Spiders, specifically the dark messiah ones, poison that takes your health to minimum and they are built like fucking tanks.

There is no getting "better". Heavy drinkers fuck themselves beyond repair and you'd better get the fuck out from that house.
Your alcoholic whore can imagine you plotting against her at any moment and next thing you'll wake up to is a knife sticking from your chest.

Run away, believe me, I grew without father thx to alcohol and with fucked up granny who drank since I can remember. How she shits herself randomly and thinks that nothing is wrong with her.

Fucking run and don't ever give a fuck about what happened to her, it is her fault anyways.

I can understand homophobia but literally what North American games have Islam in them?

Fucking spiders, I hate them so much

Dark souls 2 has that section where you open a chest and then get swarmed by the little things with skulls and then the section where you look up and there's a fuckton of them hanging from the ceiling waiting for you and THEN you go into the nest where they ambush you everywhere. The boss was meh

Spelunky's giant spider is horrifying too

I hate spiders so much

Not really since my phobia is needles. Only one that was close was Dead Space 2, but it still didn't do it, since I knew I could get away from the situation. Going to army was hell, since they gave me a ton of shots.

Thats the scary part. You can't even find those mudslims, they hide that well. Waiting to blow up everything with their vests.

No clue, it was just a joke, chum.

Sudden loud noises scare me so I can't play most horror games.

BOOM

>Islamophobia
Phobia means irrational fear.

I hate the idea of cold and freezing so winter levels really scare me

The first time I fell in Mirror's Edge gave me a jump and the cave tunnels in Subnautica freak me out

Subnautica and the sea scares the SHIT out of me. Good game, though.

No but when I jump from the highest point on the map I get the same falling feeling I get when I'm on one of those free fall rides at amusement parks

Giantass spiders in games freak me out

...

Also chiming in for Subnautica. I danced around leaving the shallows for quite a while.

Arachnophobia, multiple games

things like this do some crazy things to my brain

hell, even if I just simply look up the face of a tall building I begin to feel like I'm falling from it

it's awesome and it works in video games too, falling actually feels real because of this.

>tfw your Thalassophobia is so strong that it literally makes you unable to play games like Subnautica, missing out on potentially great games

Everyone apart from complete lunatics is afraid of heights to some degree. Fear of heights is really just the fear of being a few inches away from certain death. Perhaps your fear is not intense enough to be triggered by imagination.

Only phobia I think I have is Trypophobia, which I don't think counts but it really activates my almonds.

Anything counts if it's intense and irrational. Most likely almost none of the posts ITT are about actual phobias, but rather just normal fear.

Katsaridaphobia

Fallout 3 was horrible

I keep expecting him to jump off the last one too, or for one of his knees to give way as he's about to jump

Another classic for all of you with fear of heights

Subnautica

If find space engine pretty scary. Or Star Citizen. Once I glitched out of my arora and got flung several thousands of kilometers into the void. Suddenly I was in front of the big gas giant which covered like 1/2 of my screen and behind me was just the nothingness of space, I was pretty scared ba this somehow.

did he died

Not really phobias per se. But there are certain games I cant play because it brings back memories of when I used to play them while my gf fucked other men

Its called megalophobia and I never used to have it but suddenly got it after a bad series of panic attacks and existential OCD shit.

Feelsbadman

I never feared this before, so why should I now, its irrational really.

Nope, he makes it just barely. He himself thought he'd die, if the sounds he was making going down were any indication.

I have a koumpounophobia, no joke. It's a fear of buttons that appear in some kind of clothes. Therefore, I often get sick of playing characters wearing something with buttons. I love that nowadays in most games you can change your outfit.

I don't understand why they wouldn't outfit these guys with parachutes in case they fell

in subnautica when you cant see shit below you

Probably because you'd fall so close to the tower the risk of the chute getting struck or stuck in the tower is too high.

That door after you fight the 2 hunters after Vicar?
Fuck that door man

...

But brown dwarfs are relatively small, user.

...

what's fun about climbing towers is when you piss off of them

...

>battleship with spider legs
u wot p8

No but I've exploited one.

>be me, working in software company
>lunchtime gaming every day
>Unreal tournement
>workmate is afraid of spiders
>not curl-up-in-catatonic-terror afraid but definitely doesn't like to be anywhere near them
>browsing for UT mods
>find 8 legged freaks skins
>install mod
>next day, I volunteer to host game
>everyone - "we're downloading skins?"
>start game
>OH SHIT
>all the players and bots are giant spiders with guns on their backs
>colleague shits himself
>gets over it and keeps playing

It was hilarious for a few minutes, he died a bunch of times before he got over it We played with aggressive bots so they killed him constantly until he got it under control.

Acrophobia
a big ass fall with the sound of the air passing at high speed
it made me get nervous and tremble a little

It's a hugeass crab that has made the ship its "shell"

>playing my japanese visual novel dating sim
>fear of commitment

That is my fetish. Can you recommend me a visual novel where commitment is huge? Do you know one with dominant girls?

Yeah, I hate heights but never felt genuinely scared jumping off a building in a game.

But something about the limited movement of moving through water and seeing something else swimming through the darkness gives me the jibblies.

NO
NOPE
GOODBYE
