Is 1080p obsolete?
I have a GTX 1070 and I struggle to put it to its full potential, taking either massive amounts of antialiasing or supersampling the resolution to 1440p and above to utilize its full potential.
How many of you still use 1080p monitors? Should I buy a 1080 ti and go 4k?

I´ve got a FULL HD Samsung which is probably 5-6 year old.
Still play some old games in 4k via downsampling. 1080p is in newer games enough for me and buying a 1440p when I can´t even play in 1080p when I want better fps is really shit.

Still got 1080p monitor and TV. Just about all my friends do as well.
I'd rather have an overkill that can guarantee perfect 60 fps with high to maxed settings, for years to come, than have the card barely do it's job day 1

Your fault for buying into the "1070 for 1080p" meme. 1070 is only needed at 1080 if you want to delve into ultrawide or multiple monitor setups.

Still, if you're struggling to justify the horsepower in your rig 1440p, 144Hz, or both would be a better improvement than 4k.

I bought a 1080p monitor for the first time in 2016. Even my TVs were HD ready at best.

I have a 970 (hurr 3.5!) and it runs everything I throw at it at 1080p120 or 1080p60 through steam link
