Senn 598s
Need a good DAC to go with them, using a USB Soundblaster at the moment.
DT-880 with a Fiio X3 for some Bass Boost. Never hear percussion the same way again
Why does that even fucking matter
Its a piece of plastic that wraps around your head makes noise
Fucking morons
viso hp50
Relatively unknown, but the sound is actually fantastic. Best set I've owned.
However, build quality is somewhat lacking for the price. More fragile compared to my old tank Sennheisers, and even my old ultrasones.
>too poor to experience good headphones.
I feel for you bro. Get well soon.
/thread
Thake this shit to Sup Forums bitch.
DT-990 Pro. Pretty comfy.
Bose QC35/QC20
Fidelio X2 through a receiver
HD 650 master race reporting in.
Samson SR950s, very good for $40.
You can always spot the poorfags that have never had a decent pair of headphones.
nice. I always wanted to try a pair of these.
Custom One Pros.
>wireless headphones
>have been using them for 5 years now
>absolutely no issue aside some wear on the leather
>can just buy new batteries when the ones in go bad
>sometimes just walk around the house and forget I even have them on listening to music or stuff
Picked up a pair of HD558s pretty cheap a while back. In hindsight I should've shelled out some more for a pair of 598s, but they're solid either way.
What's annoying is that you got to manually remove the plastic lock inside the headphone to fit the V-moda mic, but it's not that difficult.
Been using these for 10 years. Won't use anything other. Not just for gaming, but for other editing work.
Went through a couple of pair because I tripped one time. Otherwise I'd probably be on the same pair they last so long.
Only complaint is the cushions tend to start flaking with time. But replaceable.
t. poorfag
They are some of the best headphones you can buy for under 1k. They compete with many headphones up to the 1k mark with a good amp and many people with 1k headphones prefer them.
I don't use headphones, ever.
...
Same here, but the black model. I've had them for 3 years or so now, daily 8+ hours use.
Had Sennheiser HD555's before and they sounded good, but nothing excuses the complete SHIT build quality. I will never buy sennheisers with that "chassis" because I know the platic is brittle as all fuck.
At least these Sony's never broke anywhere and I don't treat them like an angel. The pleather has almost come off with use but that's only to be expected and easily replacable. I actually like the material that's behind it so I can't even be bothered to get new pieces.
I got a pair of HD 518s for half off about a year ago. I know they aren't high tier, but easily the best headphones I've ever had
I fell for the 598SE meme. Comfy headphones, but I get the feeling that I could be getting more out of them since I'm just using my case ports.
But hey, seeing as my headphone jack is loose, I may be forced to get an external solution soon. Now wouldn't that just be "terrible"?
Nice meme.
I've had mine for 3 years no problems. People this happens to are just careless with them.
i have HD 598s and HD 700s
the bass in 598s would clip even on a 300 ohm amp i think it is, which is why i got the second pair
are those even an open set?
why would you even need an open set of headphones to be durable, they're going to blast everyone around you with your music, they're for mixing, not taking to places
also closed sets sound like ass
Same headphones I use for everything senpai.
The GOAT.
Audio Technica Air 700s
Comfort is off the charts. I forget they are even there most times I put them on. So crisp and clear, but the bass is not the strongest.
Also I have...
t. apple earbud user
This
And this
Both great headphones
Want to try out the HD600's someday because of how renown they are. I'm not sure if I'll ever go past the $500 mark because while I love trying out headphones, I'm not sure if I can ever justify the price.
DT235
Got it for 30 bucks on sale
They are comfy as fuck and sound pretty good
Sennheiser 175 Wireless headphones. The sound is the best I've heard on a wireless set.
The bass is fucking SICKENING, but they are too snug to be called comfy just yet.
Fidelio x2 with a vmoda boom mic, 100% perfect for my preferences
>are those even an open set?
Neither. They aren't fully open because on the sides they are closed, but they aren't cully closed either because there's a small hole on top (for deeper bass? can't remember the reason). So while they aren't as noisy as open headsets they also aren't completely closed in like closed headsets. A bit of a mix, not sure if there's a word for this type.
Still usable in public spaces and streets as long and the music isn't blasting.
>why would you even need an open set of headphones to be durable,
I kept my HD555's at home at all times, same build as this piece of shit and they still broke in 2 seperate places, both of which lead to critical failure (believe me, I really tried with different kinds of glue and tape, to no avail)
I want them to be durable because I don't want to be force to get new headsets every half decade.
>also closed sets sound like ass
Depends whether or not you used good ones (and no, not just trying them out in a store). I thought the same thing but these Sony's have jsut as big of a sound space as the Senn555's
Who dat thicc semen demon?
Been using my HD 598s for 3 years now without issue.
I suspect you are a fat careless fuck and possibly underageb&
My nigga.
I can't tell the difference if there is any with sound lag, They don't sound like trash cans strapped to my ears, and they aren't constantly getting cords wrapped around my arm.
>Just sitting there, not spinning in my chair like an idiot, my cord is twisted 20+ times in a counter clockwise direction somehow.
This is when I decided to go wireless. Never looked back.
I don't know, I saved them a long time ago.
Probably from Sup Forums or something.
fucking bourgeois
My launch day 360 also never RROD'd, doesn't mean it's not a widespread issue.
Sennheiser's brittle plastic is a very well known issue, don't be a fanboy like that man. It's something they ought to improve on and stop making models made mostly out of platic, when a metal core with a plush exterior is so clearly superior and long-lasting.
It's not like my Senn555's fell down and broke all of a sudden. It simply started as a crack so small you wouldn't see it if the headphones weren't silver. But that little crack expanded over time (in plastic there's no stopping cracks, they'll just get bigger and bigger) and completely seperated the headphones in 2 (actually 3 pieces, with the second crack)
I loved the neutral sound, very nice sound space too. But build quality is just as important and I'm not ever going to invest 200€+ on a 90% plastic build
FYI pic related isn't mine, my crack was much smaller than that at the start.
Any audophiles out there willing to give me some advice?
I'm split between the DT 990 Pro 80 OHM or the SHP 9500 which I've heard have out performed or came even to 1000$ headphones.
any good recommendations for an open back wireless set?
been using HD 558's and while i am fond of them, i'd love to get rid of the cable.
Same here, coupled with a Schiit Uber Stack (Modi 2 Uber DAC and Magni 2 Uber amp).
Eat a dick, Xbot faggot! BURN IN HELL!
I don't, I use a 2.1 system.
seems like I hit a nerve.
Also ironic considering Xbone is the only current gen console I don't own or care about.
Fidelio X2 smth senpai. SHP9500 is good, but not thag good. Beyers would be better.
I'm going deaf. This is the last years of my life I will be able to hear anything. I want it to be the best I can hear.
For me this is a fleeting engagement, but one that is well worth the money.
>990
>v shaped
>9500
I think it has less bass. it also has the 3.5 detach cable, so v moda boom pro is easily compatible
it really depends on what music you like
SHP is much cheaper. DT990 will also require an amp.
>dropping your headphones
Do you wear a cranial helmet as well? Fucking off yourself.
I don't
Jvc Gummies
Im a simple man with very simple needs. These are actually pretty decent all purpose earbuds. Cheap as hell too.Just be careful picking up a bootleg pair. Those are legit trash
>all these mad kids trying to justify overpaying for speakers
If you paid over $25 for "video game headphones" you're dumb as heck.
>If you paid over $25 for "video game headphones" you're dumb as heck.
t. poorfag.
>doesn't read post that says the exact opposite
>just assumes every broken headset results from drops
>nothing else, NOTHING could ahve possibly happened
Ok? Are Sennheiser fanboys the Nintendrones of the headset world?
Regardless, dropping a $200-$600 headset shouldn't result in permanently breaking it (even if it's over a long period of time as a result of that drop)
It's a problem other companies don't have nearly as much, so we know for a fact it's something sennheiser can improve.
I got a pair of Audio Technica ATH-M50x a week or two ago, and so far I've loved them.
>Comfy for long-term use, didn't pinch my head even when right out of the box
>Good Sound Quality
>Over-ear design
>can store them easily
>Detachable wire unlike the M50's wired design
>Nice-looking and not flash
This is my first pair of decent headphones, I've used earbuds so long, and I don't know if I could ever go back.
What are the best ones to use with PS4?
N-no bully plz...
>he fell for the Sup Forums meme
I don't browse Sup Forums, mind enlightening me, user?
All you need is a $25 pair that has good bass.
Don't fall for these idiots wasting money on ear speakers.
Avoid anything that has turtle-razer-candy-beats in its name.
Don't overpay for name brand like Sony when Seinns are more than enough.
You only need pricy headphones if you're working in sound editing.
t. deaf and poorfag
DT990 Pro only comes in 250 ohm, DT990 premium comes in 32, 250, 600 ohm.
I own DT990 Pros, they're ok, you'll need an amp though.
See if you can find a way to listen to them before buying.
Literally anything.
-Normal 3.5 plug
-USB headphones
-Wireless
Any will do. However, like said avoid any and all "GAYMUR" headsets, which includes TurtleBeach, Astro, Tritton and Steelseries (this is not the worst offender though) between others.
the only thing I disagree on is
>Don't overpay for name brand like Sony when Seinns are more than enough.
Sony headsets aren't any more overpriced than Sennheiser's, outside their one playstation-branded line.
You keep telling yourself that user.
I have used cheap earbuds and headphones between $20-50.
I have also used proper IEMs and headphones between $200-300.
There is a massive difference and anyone who says there isn't is a fucking poorfag who has never owned or used a good pair of headphones for gaming.
I bet you listen to music on youtube.
>need
You dont need anything but $2 earphones to play games but thats not the point.
PC Faggots are such contrarians.
They bang on about there expensive gaming pcs then surround them with shit accessories.
Nice headphones though OP.
O how I covet. Next year, after I replace my CPU, I promise.
I agree, there IS a massive difference between ear buds and headphones.
As in, don't fucking use earbuds.
Fuck yeah nigga.
>when you find a vinyl rip of a particular obscure album from Argentina that has no CD or digital release
My nigga
How did you com to this conclusion?
>dropping things shouldn't result in permanently breaking it
Laughable at fucking best. Go talk to gravity about it, and be careful not to drop your cellphone on the way as well.
I use these badass mofos
I am referring to the difference between both expensive and cheap ear buds and headphones.
>Don't overpay for name brand like Sony when Seinns are more than enough.
>Sennhaiser well known for overpricing
Now what on earth did he mean by this.
Post a pic with timestamp
Also
>that fucking guy who literally pulls the the headphones apart like he's trying to rip them apart before putting them on his fat head
Why would you need headphones anyway?
>Sony headphones
> $80
>can buy similar quality Senns, which are $80 but marked down $20 on Amazon, just as the Sonys should be
not that user, but they are meme headphones in the sense that they are overly recd headphones and not even that amazing in comparison to the DT770. they are good, but WAY overhyped
>Sup Forums meme
it's a reddit meme, user. Sup Forums shits on the meme50
I love the audio technica's. They got a comfort and quality balance that's perfect for game audio.
Night gaming/quiet gaming.
>playing on Wii U with only the game pad and some headphones
That's true comfy.
Why do you insist on keep proving me right?
Apple was notorious for using outdated glass on their iPhones, so they shattered much more easily compared to other brands, even with smaller drops.
Same thing applies to headphones. I Take my MDR's everywhere, and they did fall down pretty hard at least twice. Not even a crack.
My HD555's which were only for home-use broke from simply placing them on the table.
You're arguing that build quality doesn't matter. You lost from the onset, there's not even an argument worth having here. What's your point? What's you end goal?
Don't reply, those are rethorical questions.
k
>bending arguements to make a point
wew.
Those sennheisers should bend as good as arguments. Thats theyr downfall. Same thing happened with my beyers dtx350. After a month they just cracked and broke, after that I daw amazon review section was full of same issue.
>it's the akg shill with his snapheiser folder
fuck off please
Maybe it's just me, but I feel very uncomfortable if I can't hear anything around me with headphones on. I'd rather just lower speakers volume.
Get open ear headphones and turn the volume down a bit.
You can hear everything around you.
Beyerdynamic DT770 250ohm
Modmic V4
"""gaming""" headsets are fucking aids and are all substandard in audio & voice quality.
Bowers & Wilkins P9
finding an expert reviewer with tastes that match your own is pretty cool. Personally, this dude ( innerfidelity.com ) works for me. If you like more in-your-face headphones you may want to look elsewhere, but as someone who's sensitive to sibilance and wants something more balanced he's nearly always right on the money.
You may want to check out the "wall of fame" regardless. Also, if you want to get more in-depth there are a shit-ton of FR and other measurements on the site: innerfidelity.com
sennheiser defense force out in full effect. do they pay you to deny that plastic can break?
Fidelio X2 with Vmoda boompro mic.
What is the most expensive headset I can buy? Who cares about practicality, I just want to brag on an anonymous imageboard for anticommunist laotian fingerpaintings.
Sennheiser HE 1 I think
I'm pretty happy with my Grado SR125. I've been using them for the past 5 years or so, surprisingly durable.
>getting the all black ones and not the purple and silver ones
What are you, a gay?
>using IEMs / headphones cheaper than $300
>not having active noise cancellation
ATH-M40x
