Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization

Anyone still playing this? I'm 170h in and I haven't even touched the new free content (Sacraments dungeons) yet. Plus Bamco is gonna release 2 new characters and events and dungeons for free sometime soon. It's amazing how well Bamco has handled this release!

This isn't Siliconera, OP. This is the worst game of the three PS4 releases.

The story forces the player to constantly leave dungeons to do mandatory side events. It's extremely annoying.

Leveling in this game gives the player two options. Either they can roll the dice and pray that a level 70 player will carry them through boss fights, or they can kill same level enemies and only advance by 1-10 experience points, when it takes thousands to level.

I'm more excited for the Accel World SAO crossover game. Hopefully they will improve the gameplay quite a bit from the mundane Lost Song.
But Lost Song had a superior soundtrack/atmosphere to HF/HR.

git gud brah. considering how many skill points get shit into your lap by switching low skill point weapons and skill classes (+EX classes) it's EXTREMELY easy to get an OP build early game. plus level means nothing when the game is all about buff stacking (which is purely based on how many skills you have available to you to use in your rotation. Plus the "events" are pretty much scripted to run at predictable times in each of the zones (pretty much beginning of zone, mid point, and end) so you can run for dozens of hours grinding, doing sub quests or just exploring without triggering a required story event.

Which sword art on ps4 is the best then?

Hollow Fragment.

>Sword Art Online
Even Naruto and AOT is better

Fuck off Sup Forums. We are talking about the games.

His statement would still hold true. Nurutu games have always been excellent casual eye candy, and I'd much rather play the AOT game than these terribly written offline MMO's.

Can you elaborate? Thanks in advance user!

I love my wife Asuna!

the newest one, Hollow Realization. best graphics, more action oriented gameplay WITHOUT dumbing down the skill system (like Lost Song did), better writing for the events (actual event arcs focusing on dynamics between the two or of the girls with each other instead of random disconnected waifu pandering events), shitton of content (with MORE free content coming, expansions with upcoming DLC (think Witcher 3 tier expansions with add whole new story to follow), etc. Hollow Realization is without question the BEST j-rpg to come to the west this year.

if you didn't play Hollow Fragment, you can't play the ACTUAL best game - Hollow Realization (note Lost Song isn't really required for HR).

Agil loves her too. And Kirito loves watching Agil love Asuna.

>game based on an anime wherein characters are playing a fictional mmorpg
>the game isn't an mmorpg

>the characters are seen playing the game on computers
>the game is ps4 exclusive

What do you mean, is hollow fragment required to play hollow realization storywise?

So would I be able to enjoy the game if I think SAO is complete dogshit otherwise?
Is the game mechanically sound and fun, or is it just a poor excuse for NEETs to get the waifus?

Yes. Hollow Realization is a direct sequel to the Hollow Fragment. The second game (Lost Song) is also a sequel to Hollow Realization but more of a side story and the events of Lost Song aren't really directly relevant to Hollow Realization. Hollow Fragment pretty much sets up how the game canon diverts from the Light Novel or Anime canon. if it wasn't clear, it's an AU where the events of Aincrad go down differently - including bringing both Leafa and Sinon to Aincrad during the death game and also introducing two new characters Philia and Strea who are main characters in the new game as well (the two girls from Lost Song are getting patched in, but purely as waifu service). So if you plan on playing this get Re: Hollow Fragment (the PS4 version of Hollow Fragment that includes new events the original Vita version didn't), then play Hollow Realization.

>Still no Accel World Season 2

I fucking hate this world.

Yes, both HF and HR have deep mechanics and both games have a shitton of content. If you're into MMO style dungeon crawls with deep combat system with shitton of play variation and configuration then both games are extremely worth getting into.

here's an end game DB if you're interested:

>The second game (Lost Song) is also a sequel to Hollow FRAGMENT

fix

Alright, do I have to sit through the waifu-stuff to get to the rest of the content?
I like dungeon crawling, I just don't wanna have to put up with mandatory relationship shit to progress in or to the next dungeon.

side events & relationship events are completely optional. you can build affinity with characters in HR just by having them in your party (and this allows you to tweak their AI behavior and eventually equip them with better gear)

Fair enough.
I'll grab it tomorrow if the shops are open.

Strea is a miracle of the universe.

Philia is cute, but she needed a hood or high collar mantle like she had in the first game. seeing her exposed shoulders makes her hair seem weird/off.

I couldn't get into the gameplay of this game compared to lost song.

Is she mad?

the game kind of has a steep learning curve (because there's so many different systems to take into account). as for pure damage what it boils down to is buffs stack and crit overrides enemy defense stats, so once you get past the SP limit (i.e. prioritize skills that raise SP capacity, regen SP, decrease re-cast time, raise cast & execution rate, provide free skill use for when you run out of SP etc) you can go to town on crit'ing even the highest level hnm's to oblivion. other things like hit count multiplier, oss chain multiplier, bonuses from partner & team skill execution timing etc is just bonus.

Yuuki's bare skin is Asuna's property.
