They're the same mechanic. A quick time event is literally just a cinematic moment where you hit a certain button or buttons, 99% of button mashing sequences are cinematic struggles where you hit a certain button. Same thing.

Mashing is the best way to simulate physical strength and exertion.

At least with QTEs you only have to push the buttons once.

Master Takahashi laughs at you.

But it made the finale of The Wonderful 101 wonderful.

>I'm badass because I can button mash fast

nah man video games are all about reflexes and fast thinking

>t.destroyed by older siblings in track and field
Anally ravaged to this day.

waggle the analog stick as fast as you can is worse. fuck off metal gear rising.
it exists to break your controller.

wiggling out of ice in the original blazblue was the gayest shit.

I remember the final boss of Sonic Unleashed I think that after you beat his dumb ass after going through an hour long final stage you had to button mash 100 times to kill him and if you fucked up you had to re-do the entire boss again. Fucking awful. I just barely made it in time and threw that god forsaken game away.

It's okay if QTEs and mashing are occasionally in the game like in W101 since the actual game is hardcore gameplay. The finale was great.

You can just rotate the stick around and around.

That's what I did.

It's so fucking easy as shit to me it's always funny when pussies complain about it.

>waggle the analog stick as fast as you can is worse. fuck off metal gear rising.
This. It's not how you're supposed to use the stick and it compromises the controls otherwise.
The faster you do it the faster you get out of stunlock so you have incentive to do it as hard as possible, especially once you play above normal.

>Try to time button presses instead of mashing
>The window for the next button is so small or abstract you have to button mash

Kojima's a genius. He truly captured the feeling of real torture here.

>he isn't fast

HAHAHAHAHA

>Red is actually tapping a button.

Is MGS the only game that knows if you're using turbo?

Even it can be fooled with certain controllers.
