It's basically an extension of what made the first one great. It's super fun and beautiful too.
My only problem is that if anyone dies for any reason even if you didn't touch them, it counts as if you killed them.
Why does Sup Forums hate dishonored 2?
-The potential of the plot is unrealized. They could have done a better job making the story fit the two protagonist dynamic. Instead, it fits neither one perfectly well. It's definitely a story for Emily, but the importance of most of the characters and the location fits Corvo. Then there's the fact that Delilah fits neither.
-The setting carries much less of a unified atmosphere. Dunwall in the first game made it clear to the player the extent of the plague, the style of architecture and technology, the kind of people that lived there, and so on. For Karnaca, the design of the city is uninspired and without impact. The advanced and southern port city only comes across as a generic sandstone brick town. Even Low Chaos Dunwall still had the criminals, the poor, the downtrodden, and more who were affected by the plague. For a place where the guards are purposefully dicks and corruption is in the open, it's surprising less than in the Empire's capital.
-Bloodflies were poorly executed. By making their only appearance be around gigantic red hives, it's impossible to show their extent as an insect vermin in the same vein as rats. Even in their worst state, they're often cordoned off to where they wouldn't really affect the townspeople.
-No Mission Select
-Bonecharm Crafting is only useful in NG+ unless you go for Rune Crafting
-No Whiskey and Cigars Tonight
-Most gadget additions are only what was introduced in Daud's DLC.
-Time Travel mansion showed in the trailer ended up being poorly designed and incredibly linear. Affecting time was almost exclusively for whether the owner was dead and opening up the tunnel to the back segment of the mansion.
-Crown Killer's identity and how early it was revealed
The only really decent thing about the game is that now, levels are incredibly open and allow for much more in how you approach your challenge, but even then that lessens its presentation.
Maybe because the first one was garbage and the majority here now is all the underage fucks that played it when they were 14.
fuck off shill
>first one was garbage
wasn't though. eat my ass user senpai
It was a garbage stealth game because it was too focused on action and the power ups like blink, possession, etc were insanely broken (for a stealth game). Then it was a garbage action game because it wanted to be a stealth game.
How was the action part of it garbage? AI did decently well for making the sword fights interesting and keep players on your toes. Without powers, fighting guards with a sword and pistol is already fast and fun. Add them on top and it's still enjoyable, especially when you have to counter Whalers and Overseers.
What do you mean how is it garbage? Compare it to any competent action game and you'll have your answer. It tried to go half and half and failed at both. The original Thief games had shitty action compared to actions games of course, but it didn't try to use that action to compensate for shitty stealth because the stealth wasn't shitty.
If the game didn't count any deaths against you people would just go out of their way to kill enemies indirectly to cheat the system. Plus, the point is to avoid chaos and death causes chaos whether Corvo did it or asshole guard who can't aim for shit did it.
I just finished the main campaign of Dishonored 1, are the DLCs worth it or should I continue with my backlog? The ending was kinda shit (suddenly cutting to black and then the typical exposition video) but I liked the worldbuilding and would love a proper story set in the Dishonored setting. Do the DLCs do a better job of fleshing out the plot or should I just wait for my backlog to clear and play 2?
>-No Whiskey and Cigars Tonight
Fucking 0/10 refunded immediately
Because denuvo, same thing with Hitman and DX:MD
It's easily GOTY, it's better than the first one, that already was really good, in every aspect except story.
It wasn't a "stealth game", it was an Immersive Sim that wasn't based on stealth as much as the Thief games were.
You're right, it wasn't a stealth game. It was just a game that had stealth mechanics and used a better ending as an incentive to get you to use said stealth mechanics. Oh wait
shit port. that's all.
>compare it to any competent action game
If we're just going to say competent, then yeah, Dishonored fits the bill. You have a decent set of supernatural abilities and enhancements, weapons, and gadgets for combat. Weight for your attacks and movements was done properly enough. The AI does well for properly blocking, crossing swords, and their footwork. It's not 10/10, but it was definitely a 7/10 or higher in that department. Top it all off with the fact that it fits with the overall setting and pace of the game, and it's just plain solid.
>DX:MD
got cracked recently and still no one cares. shit game is a shit game.
HORRIBLE PC performance.
I am on a GTX1080 and can run D44M at almost consistent 60 fps at 4K, while Dis shit 2 chugs along at sub 30 fps at 1080p.
Fucking awful mangling of the D44M-engine.
>HORRIBLE PC performance.
this, but it's also just as bad on PS4 / PS4 Pro so it's really just shit everywhere
>Fucking awful mangling of the D44M-engine.
It's actually based on id tech 5, the RAGE / Wolfenstein engine. DOOM is id tech 6.
I never asked for this shit.
They should have made Arx Fatalis 2 or Dark Messiah 2, PC exclusive and not mechanically crippled for shitty controller input.
game? thats brutal
Plot and setting were very meh compared to the first game, Delilah was a weak villain we've already seen before, new outsider isn't as good, in other words the story got significantly worse while the gameplay received minor improvements. Still good but disappointing none the less. They really missed an opportunity by not having Corvo and Emily work together and interact throughout the game.
Reading the post might help.
oh boy I thought it was another game, not dark messiah 2 damn
>-No Whiskey and Cigars Tonight
This is basically the only reason needed
Is Arkane LITERALLY FUCKING RETARDED not putting this in?
>stealth game
Suck my balls
>those amazon reviews for the dishonored novel
Is this going to be like Killzone where they have amazing world building but never actually do anything with the setting? Is this what happens when people who grew up reading nothing but DnD supplements make vidya?
>hating a perfect game because the debts don't give two shits about PC babies who just pirate it anyways
Lmao
18+
bad as fuck optimization
