2016 was shit
2016 was shit
I dont know, Civ 6,XCOM 2, GTA 6 are pretty good.
Rocket league is fun if you have friends to play with
Witcher 3 is great.
haven't played any of the rest.
>didn't torrent civ 6 instead
i'll wait tillnext year to buy it. torrent is fine for now
>GTA 6
WHAT?
GTA 6: CONFIRMED
and yet you bought a lot of shit
I wonder if Steam would do better or worse with shorter sales, more frequently. Basically, to recapture the lucrativeness of the flash sales or whatever the fuck, without the hassle of wondering if there's a better one coming soon.
Yeah, GTA 6 is the best game I played in 2016. my dad works at Rockstar Studios so he got an advance copy.
>no man's sky in second place
Never buy into hype culture, lads.
>Witcher 3 is great.
And so is Skyrim.
its not arranged in any particular order, all top 12 spots are randomized.
Shut up Todd.
>best seller
>f2p
Its clearly not in any particular order
Shit.
Ok not gonna lie I'm jelly as fuck. Which city (or cities)?
mikrotransactions breh
Salt Lake City
>2016 was shit
For PC maybe.
Thank god I dropped Steam this year.
Technically its "top grossing" I have no idea why they called it top selling
3rd line down.
I KNEW it! Vice City shillers BTFO!!
>Shut up Todd
But in all seriousness, Witcher was pretty shit as a game, for many of the same reasons Skyrim was shit as a game. It just looks pretty and people pretend the story is the cure for AIDS.
There are few RPG elements and what's there is shallow, there's little/no interactivity with the world or environment, the quests are mostly bland filler that require you follow a big marker on your screen, etc. And you're always Geralt, there isn't much room to actually role-play either. It's an action/adventure game with some RPG elements, but it is in no way a good RPG.
It being in the top 12 is bad enough.
If anything it will remind people that they bought it and to not make that mistake again.
GTA 6 is going to be focused on creating a crime syndicate across multiple cities. You will get to visit Los Santos, Liberty City, Vice City aswell as new places like Capital City (modeled after Washington). they're also planning a DLC adding Berlin, Paris, Moscow, London, and possibly other European capital styled cities to bring your crime syndicate to an international level. based on that DLCs success they will add Asian cities DLC for people (hooker) smuggling and South America DLC for drug smuggling.
did that fat russian start letting companies block games from steamspy again
I would argue witcher 3 had better writing than skyrim. Skyrim was just typical Bethesda while witcher 3 was at least interesting enough to beat the main story. Also witcher combat is piss easy but it's still better than skyrims combat. I like both games but I think witcher 3 is better in every way even if it's only a slight victory.
> It just looks pretty
Nobody thinks or ever thought vanilla Skyrim is pretty.
> people pretend the story is the cure for AIDS.
Nobody has ever praised skyrim for the story
But in all seriousness, kill yourself nigger.
Meaning, their gonna put less detail into cities, and charge dlc pricing for each dlc.
>their
>I would argue witcher 3 had better writing than skyrim
Won't argue with that, I just don't find writing or story to be nearly as important as gameplay.
They both have awful combat and piss-poor RPG elements, but Skyrim at least gives you some more room to role-play with your character as its not voiced (a HUGE complaint against FO4 and many people say it's not even an RPG anymore because of it, so no idea why it'd fine in Witcher, but I digress) and the game offers more replay value.
>Witcher was pretty shit as a game, for many of the same reasons Skyrim was shit as a game. It just looks pretty and people pretend the story is the cure for AIDS.
Reading comprehension is important.
Does it say Skyrim looks beautiful and has a great story in either of the above sentences? No, it says Witcher is similar to Skyrim in many ways with those being two exceptions.
...
>a HUGE complaint against FO4 and many people say it's not even an RPG anymore because of it, so no idea why it'd fine in Witcher, but I digress
Because Fallout is an old CRPG franchise where 1 and 2 are often listed as best RPGs of all time and Witcher has always been about Geralt's story since the very first game?
>FFXV
>Let it Die
>DOOM
>Odin Sphere Remake (wasn't a port, literally remade the mechanics)
>Xenoverse 2
>Titanfall 2
>Revelator
>KoFXIV
Not a bad year honestly, plenty of good games if you look hard enough
What games did you play instead then, user-chan?
Top Sellers
>DOTA2
2016 is the worst year of gaming that I've known in the time where I've been in the know enough about games. So in the past 15 years or so.
2017 looks good, but not great. The trouble is I always liked shooters but they're long dead now. I never really expected that to ever happen.
And? Why is it okay for one game to do it but not another? That's the point, that Witcher gets arbitrary free passes for shit other games get railed on when they're both RPGs. If Witcher has always been like that, then it simply has always been a poor RPG.
And you could keep Geralt's character without making him voiced. Maybe then there would actually be some room to role-play since they wouldn't be constrained by audio files like Fallout 4, you could have more than a sentence or two for each dialogue option and maybe see some actual depth and variation in your responses.
Yeah, I prefer non voiced rpg characters too. I wonder if next skyrim will be voice acted like fo4
>FFXV
>DOOM
>Titanfall 2
Hoo boy, more AAA crap!
Yes, I want yet another shooter that caters to the lowest common denominator devoid of standard features like local co-op or custom games with multiplayer locked behind a $60 paywall. Because who needs things like features and game modes in 2016?
Fuck Drumpf and fuck 2016
Witcher 3, FO4, and Rocket League were made in 2015 and all of those are great so I guess your theory still stands but Division came out in 2016 and that was fun
>best seller
>free to play
Evey Bethesda game will probably have a voiced protagonist from now on, I mean it's [CURRENT YEAR] we need full voice acting provided by Nolan North and Troy Baker and unnecessary and expensive motion capture for celebrity actors or it's kiddy shit. Games are growing up.
Are you really this stupid?
>shit weaboo trash
>Dark Souls knockoff
>shitty 2edgy4u reboot
>rerelease
>rerelease billed as sequel
>COD with mechs
>more weaboo garbage
>spic trash
Yeah user '16 was a real fuckin' hoot
>Witcher, FO4 and The Division are all great
And entire generation ruined by AAA garbage. You have no frame of reference but this bullshit, it's just sad and I fear for the future. Games are just about looking pretty and stringing players along with microtransactions.
DOOM is great for the campaign, which was spectacular.
Titanfall 2 doesn't really cater to the lowest common denominator, it's the fastest shooter in years and has plenty of high level techniques for advanced players. It has plenty of modes, and custom game multiplayer.
Neither of these are co-op games, why do you want co-op forced into these games.
FFXV isn't a shooter, as you know, so you didn't really say anything about it except that it's AAA. Did you even play it?
You also ignored more than half the list. How many of these did you play? Are you criticizing games you haven't even played? Because nothing in your post indicates personal experience.
I don't know, this year was pretty good to me. Lots of games I really enjoyed. Mostly indie games.
...
>weeaboo garbage
Not an argument
>Dark Souls knockoff
What? Did you play it?
>shitty 2edgy4u reboot
Not an argument
>rerelease
It's a completely different game on a mechanical level. You know, mechanics, the thing that dictates gameplay.
>rerelease billed as sequel
Also plenty of mechanical changes, but you'd have to play the game to know that.
>COD with mechs
No
>weeaboo
Not an argument
>spic trash
Not an argument
Did you play half of these games?
Glad to see XCOM doing well. I'm always down for more turn based tactics so this is a good thing.
>he unironically plays indietrash
w e w
I'm not trying to make arguments, I'm just stating facts
>DOOM is great for the campaign, which was spectacular.
Lots of people have plenty of legitimate gripes with the level design and fuck the scripted glory kills.
Titanfall 2 is the same online-only MP shit every other shooter has. Where's the fucking co-op?
>Neither of these are co-op games, why do you want co-op forced into these games.
>Shooters aren't co-op games
Because it used to be a fucking standard feature, dipshit, that's the problem.
>NMS
>best seller
Exactly why shitty policies like bullshots and blatant lies to the face of consumers will continue. Devs and publishers don't give a fuck as long as they make money. At least the shit posting on Sup Forums was funny.
How is Titanfall not CoD with mechs? That's literally the usp. Everyone was shocked when it came out that they made Source feel exactly like CoD.
>mfw I didn't play or buy any of those and still had lots of fun this past year
I thought D44m would do better or was it released too late?
It's the first futuristic GTA and takes place on a Mars colony
You dont play games anyway
I don't think you like video games, user.
