>three playable characters
>each route has one or more of the other playable characters as a boss fight

A great soundtrack that gets you fucking HYPE

>3 part boss battle
>music changes every phase
>all of them are great

> vocals start in the final phase

actually died the first time i fought maria because i was too distracted by the fucking music

>5 part boss battle
>music changes every phase
>all of them are great

>multiple playable characters
>they cross paths at some point, or affect each other in some way
>they actually don't group up at the end

A great, satisfying ending with a good ending credits song.

>"Final Chapter: (Game Title)"

>Flashback levels

>you beat the final boss and the game starts over with all your levels and equipment without knowing it did that

>Sup Forums memes

>When the game switches you to another character for a short time.

The Cait Sith segment in Dirge of Cerberus is the best example I can think of. I loved it.

>The best equipment in the game can be bought from shops and only if you've been hoarding all your gold up to that point of the game.

>you can steal the boss spell
>it is the most effective attack against them

>shit that doesnt matters at all
thats what flashback levels are smfh

this shit right here

>pokemon crystal-present

>Game gives you several minutes to get ready
>It constantly tells you "The enemy is approaching"
>"The enemy is coming"
>"The enemy is here."

>You fight boss several times
>Gains new moves that correlate with the difficulty curve and your development

coop

>"...and YOU!" in the special thanks

>Get to the optional "way harder" boss.
>Defeat it.
>Final boss dialogue changes to reflect it.

>The final boss is your character from the past game.

>the main character gets separated from the rest of the party and you have to play as them w/o the main character
>they're all underleveled

>Hot female protagonist.
>You can tilt camera to see her pantsu.
>If you do, she acknowledges what your doing and bends over for you.
The Japanese know what the players want!

>game has atmosphere and music so good you can just stare at the architecture, landscape or out a window for a long time and be okay with just watching the world move around you

i love a game with solid gameplay but sometimes you just want to feel for a while

Not really an antagonist, but I really liked playing as Kelso in LA Noire. Changed shit up nicely.

Beta with Enemy Skill versus Midgar Zolom

>game has 2 stats systems and maybe perks

Kotor 1 and 2
Morrowind
FONV

Makes my fucking dick hard

YEEESSS!

>early game boss becomes a regular enemy later on in the game

Sounds cool. Game(s)?

>love interest from first act is a boss in the second act
>have to kill her to absorb her power to kill the final boss

That is YOUR perspective. But I LOVE them. I like seeing how something came to be or how this guy used to be before some critical event in the past.

Dead Space(1) to name one...anyone else?

>You can save up money by playing with underleveled equipment for awhile then buy a late-game weapon in midgame and destroy everything

>There is a fight where you are supposed to lose and have to hold out as long as possible

>you can change the UI theme/menu colors

probably my favorite boss battle of all time right here,

youtube.com/watch?v=vZUj2QyCaIY

>The moment in a JRPG where everyone unites against the final boss.

I don't know why but this gif makes me laugh. Also, sauce?

>the main antagonist seems to respect the main protagonist
>flashback level shows that they were once friends
>there's a sense of reservation from both the main antag and protag when they finally fight
it can be fucked up but I like when this happens

>first game's theme plays in the final battle of the last game in the series

>Space ship battles

Has there ever been a game where the protagonist and antagonist are former lovers?
And was it a good game?

>fucking up giant things

When there's some big events happening in the story, but you end up dealing with some relatively small things instead. Kind of hard to explain.

Like when you get deserted in Skies of Arcadia. Or in The Witcher you leave the big city and spend a chapter in a small village.

It's similar to beating a really hard area of a game, and after it is fairly easy to give you some respite. Except instead of respite from tough gameplay, it's from big events in the story.

>random loot, everywhere, and it's all movable

>status ailments work on bosses

>That gif

The internet truly is magical

>You lose your whole party and have to fight the boss alone at the end

I love comfy bars and places to hang out in digitally while I hang out and chill IRL. the two best examples I have are Stray Sheep in Catherine and the bar in Goodneighbor in Fallout 4. Good music is always nice to have while I stop and have a drink in the real world, and very few games have this kind of place.

>The game jumps to support characters perspective as they are helping the MC achieve his goal

>bar in Goodneighbor
Really liked that as well. I also enjoyed the bar in Diamond City. I made my own bar in one of my settlements as well. Would post a pic but I don't have it on this computer.

>Have to fight a party member/friend in a boss battle
>Battle theme is replaced with somber version

> Beat the game
> NG+
> You get to fight the previous character you finished the game with

>Play through a satisfying, although slightly short, vidya
>You beat the final boss
>You've been rused, motherfucker. That was just the start
>Game still has another half to go

Name ONE game in which this happens. One game.

Kid Icarus Uprising, The World Ends With You

KI:U.

>shooter
>all out assault level

youtube.com/watch?v=bQNGg8g7F_Q

>HYPE

Fucking yes, I was hoping the game would have this damn type of level. I'm glad it did.

>there's a sense of reservation from both the main antag and protag when they finally fight

what exactly does this mean

solatorobo: red the hunter

>finale
>you team up with the lesser evil faction
>able to fight alongside the mooks you've been killing all game

The good end for infamous 2 where those rednecks fight to hold back the beast was great.

>cutscene with someone you're clearly going to fight
>camera position starts moving so by the end of the scene its at the usual battle/gameplay perspective and the fight starts immediately

Far Cry 2.
Also best villain.

>Have super move activated by a chant

I just love knowing that when you hear it, shit is going to happen. Even better when the enemy knows and panics because its coming out of nowhere.

Does the Vector Cannon from ZOE2 count?

>characters have separate spells that can be
used together for double techniques

>tfw you get so fucking hyped you have to wash all your clothes with bleach

I don't know that feel

Baddies who genuinely believe they are doing the right thing (and are at least arguably right)

Pic related

>Start the game as antagonist
>Not the guy advertised
>Actually kinda cool
>Then he turns out to be the bad guy and then the game really starts

>The entire soundtrack is just different arrangements of the main theme

>Limiters: Unlocked

This. One of the few things I liked about RE:6.

>OST has different songs for daytime and nighttime.

>Final Battle
>Hero is on his last legs
>All hope seems lost
>Suddenly the game pans to all the people the hero helped along his journey
>One-by-one they send their hopes and prayers to the hero
>Hero is revitalized and feels better than ever
>Real final battle begins

There's is nothing more hype than that.

name one game that does this other than undermeme
It was even better when they did the exact opposite in LISA. Shit was depressing as fuck.

Okami and Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door

Earthbound does something similar but the prayers are what end the battle.

>Multiple campaigns
>At some point they intersect with one another and give a different point of view to the same situation

You have a base of operations that you can't upgrade, but changes throughout the story, filling up with collectibles from the campaign etc.

Dying Light and Arkham Knight come to mind immediately.

Dragon's Dogma.
The whole game you're led to believe the fight with Grigori is the end of the game. It isn't by a LONG shot.

>can go back to earlier levels with all your gear and upgrades from endgame

but it really should have been

Tales of Symphonia almost did this. It treats the 25%-ish mark as the finale.

However, at that point you still haven't met half the characters from the intro movie, so it kind of ruins the surprise.

>flashback level
>find a spot where you won't get attacked
>leave the room for hours without pausing the game

I'm torn on whether to agree with you.
I like that everything got a shitload harder after Grigori's death, and I liked the new enemies... but the Everfall just seemed like a rushed concept. Like a kind of bossrush that failed to deliver.

At least there was the Dark Arisen content to give me something to achieve.

tales of vesperia. thought i was at the final boss cause he was a dick and acted like the big bad. once cutscene happens.
BAM CTHULU SPACE MONSTER. and a whole final act begins.

I just finished Skies of Arcadia and they do this towards the end, shit was so hype that I couldn't sleep last night

>sequel
>you start off with all your weapons and abilities from the previous game

>Prologue takes place years before the main game
>All the items in the game look like earlier version of the main game's items

>sequel
>you start off with everything from the very end of the previous game
>1% health
>0 ammo

It was rushed. The everfall was originally a big tower that had basically endless variations of dungeons. Along with several large portions of the map, the idea had to be scaled down.

youtube.com/watch?v=2d8yCWF4cBY

This was 10 years ago

This, it's so cliche but I love it so much even better if it's actually apart of the fight
>half way through boss battle
>suddenly everyone you've helped has joined and is dealing their own damage alongside you

I was gonna say the same thing. While I did know that more was coming at that point, like you said, I was still very surprised to see a whole new world map.
