Have you ever done a nuzlocke run Sup Forums?
Have you ever done a nuzlocke run Sup Forums?
Tedious, annoing and boring.
It's neat but it doesn't magically make Pokemon a good game.
Tried once on Black. Main died, I got depresed and never finished it.
I'll use this thread as an opportunity to ask about sun and moon.
They look like weeb child shit and the dancing makes me laugh out loud. Are the games decent or what?
I tried, but got bored a few hours in. Didn't give a fuck if a mon died either. I call false advertising on the nuzlocke scam. You promised me feelings.
It's fucking pokemon what do you expect?
Sun/Moon were alright. It took a bit to get going but once you get off the first island it gets good. The story ended up being surprisingly enjoyable, but I still enjoyed going through X/Y as a whole more though.
>"Let's make a grindy game more grindy!"
Why?
Nah user I think you'd enjoy a more mature game for mature gamers such as yourself
A little bit of a changeup from the previous games, no more gyms and the driving force of the plot isn't really beating the evil team or becoming a Pokemon master either.
The difficulty is a little bit different as well, the SOS concept makes battles stretch out and adds a little more difficulty if you want it to. The boss battles are also a fun change, there are some neat surprises that can catch you off guard and fuck your shit if you don't watch out.
The dancing shit is completely optional, I'm more than halfway through the game and I haven't used the Z moves at all.
Too easy on the newer games, almost impossible on older ones
yeah, on omega sapphire or whatever it was called, I lost my Swampert to Steven's last mega and put the game down afterwards
rip in piss Blue ;_;7
No, because it just seems tedious, boring, and against the nature of the games.
I have done some mono-type runs, though. Including an Emerald run of only Water/Ground types. Giga Drain, from the champion, stopped that run cold unfortunately.
I am kind of disappointed that none of the games give you that many Water/Ground type pokemon during the run, though. I think the most was in AlphaSapphire, but even then you basically needed to complete the game to find half of them.
Yes
This is very true
I stick to mono type runs if I want to make Pokemon "hard"
Did it on Fire Red, was a bitch to do and only did it to see what was so great about the challenge.
even if you don't do nuzlocke challenges at the very least you play on battle mode "Set" and don't use items during battles right?
What did he mean by this?
How do you define an area?
Nope. I impose my own rule set but only things that make it slightly more challenging but nothing tedious.
It's fun, but having to grind carefully is the most annoying part.
whenever the name of the area you're in changes, you're in a new one
no 2 pokemon you own may have the same "captured in X" text
there's a few exceptions, a common one is in pokemon red/blue to allow 1 capture attempt every zone of the safari zone
also another one is to allow you to capture another pokemon if you already own or owned the one you encountered to increase diversity
Cool, I'm going to try this if I can stand up and get my DS.
Yea, honestly made the play through more boring than a regular one because you can get stuck with overly common, boring pokemon you don't want.
The death and limited pokemon are interesting limitations though
Tried them multiple times, always get bored with the limitation since it doesn't matter after a few towns and usually spend more time trying to think of names for everything than I do playing
I've done three. Crystal turned into a grindfest, but it's true than every battle feels more intense when you feel that at any moment one of your guys could be shut down and you it also forces you to use Pokémon you regularely wouldn't use.
It's a nice experience, but I think I'll be sticking to another type of self imposed challenge once I get around to playing Sun/Moon.
Any suggestions?
Yes, but I disregard the "catch only the first Pokemon you encounter" rule because it's just shit. I'd rather catch something interesting.
it has helped me use some pokemon I otherwise wouldn't have though
Since I was a child, if a Pokemon fainted I turned the game off.
The other rule is retarded.
Yes, randomized. This is the best way to do it, with the wild Pokemon being set to match the power of the default mons. I can see it being boring with the normal game.
I do.
Though I'm pretty ashamed of having to item-stall Hau's Raichu to run out of Psychics since he magically outsped my whole party and got crits and/or SDef drops on the ones who could take two hits
After playing Pokemon Prism I think doing a Palette Patrol run would be neat: all of your pokemon must follow the same color scheme regardless of type, and if they take on a different color when they evolve you cannot use them. You MUST maintain the correct color scheme at all times.
So like, if you chose Red as your color, you could never use Sandile or Krokorok, only Krookidile.
