now everyone is broke and cant afford cars and have no interest in real videogames or sims or even arcade style racers so the whole genre flopped outside of simcades like forza, and project cars

Because any racing game that requires skills beyond braking occasionally is beyond most players, plus Forza/GranTurfags just want to get behind the wheel of expensive real world cars.

There are kart racing games out there, but most of them are indie stuff on Steam.
