>Sup Forums said VR is shit >believe Sup Forums and join in the anti-VR memes >brother calls me and says I have to come over and try the Oculus rift he got >Mine is now shipping
Once again Sup Forums lies to me. I bet you faggot never tried real VR or played with that shitty phone VR
As someone whose had VR for over a year and half now, I can freely admit there was some truth in the memes of not enough VR games, but that was the only one that was true. But now that Touch is out, there are plenty of games to keep occupied, and if you aren't dirt poor it's affordable enough.

Yeah is cool

I'm confused why people will pay $2,500 for a high end TV but a $600 VR headset is too much
Carson Jenkins
You can do more with a TV. There is more content for a TV.
Ethan Perez
>play with an Occulus Rift for a few hours >go out and order one for yourself >I play the demo for Nier Automata for an hour and buy the Black Box edition >I get to hot glue 2B in real life
Sorry for your monentary loss OP.
Dylan Bell
i'm even more confused to why people buy high end TVs for consoles and shitty console graphics.
I don't understand why people get TVs at all anymore. Monitors are much better screens for watching anything. Just get a comfy chair if you want "muh sofa experience".
Charles Gutierrez
I honestly wish I wasn't sober when I did it and I wish it wasn't true but it is.
and I'm talking about buying the Black Box not my post. My post cost me nothing the Black Box cost me $200+.
Try again when 4k is the norm, persistence doesn't exist, and there are actual good games to play besides your shitty indie shooting galleries. As of now, it's a nausea inducing, blurry experiment, and serves only as a massive example of post-purchase rationalization.
William Perry
Touch controllers > Vive Controllers. Unless you mean Vive tracking, not the actual controllers. And even that's debatable. It's better in some respects, mainly range, but it can be prone to weird issues.
Caleb Sullivan
Got occulus and I am getting ass blasted by how comparable it is to Playstation VR.
Especially since I can develop VR with unity on occulus.
>mfw all the cords and wires and set up required for Playstation vr.

I meant these.

VR is cool, but its 800 for a gimmick. Admittedly a really cool gimmick, but it needs to develop a bit more and have the price drop to make it worth it.
Samuel Russell
>lol you need a gaming PC to even start thinking about this shit >lol ok now spend $800 for cuck-goggles and cuck-wands >what you want to actually move around like what VR is fucking supposed to be? Better have a room available for this purpose and don't forget not to trip over cables all over the place >ok we're finally in the virtual world enjoy your mini-game collections that will be $59.99 plus tax And they expected this to be a success? Face it: all VR owners are beta testers right now. They didn't even bother getting a ton of porn stuff out the gate.
Josiah Smith
Gear VR is cheap and has a ton of shit to do. That, and if you're not a complete manlet who's only hobby is videogames entirely, you can develop on it using unity.
John Cooper
I don't own an Oculus, but that looks breddy good.
I'm too cheap to buy one, but VR is pretty neat.
Isaac Carter
Yeah, I know about them, but there is still no way they are as a good of a controller as Touch, yet. Touch's comfortable feeling, battery life, buttons, thumbsticks, and being sturdy enough you can punch through your wall with them with no problem.
Xavier Martin
>being sturdy enough you can punch through your wall with them with no problem
I can personally attest to this. Big chunks missing in a corner of my wall from first night's usage (I don't need a full play area!). Looked at controller - rock solid, no dents or scratches. In fact, the paint from he wall is on the controller, now.
Andrew Evans
it doesn't look anything like that. I own an oculus and have tried vive. I do agree 4k is a good step forward, but it still wont be enough.
Hunter Turner
>try VR >it's shit
Wow, OP lied again, what a nerd.

details?

I think VR is more than a gimmick. However, I think everyone agrees that VR is currently too expensive for broad adoption. The least expensive VR option is PS VR assuming one already has a PlayStation. Things may change once Microsoft releases their VR gear:
Between upgrade cycles and lowered costs of production, I think 2018 will be the year that VR really takes off. In the meantime, enthusiasts and people with above average disposable income will provide enough of a market that games will continue to be developed.
