Remember this old gem? It's an isometric f2p survival game that takes place on one massive server and one massive map that houses all the players with PvP being enabled in all areas at all times. Similar to Rust or Ark, but on a larger scale with everyone playing together.
Notably, game is doing a complete map and character reset scheduled for the 7th of January. This means that if you start playing when the reset happens, you will not be behind at all, will be starting fresh with everyone else and won't be killed by some Russian shitters who have grinded gear for 6 months before you even started.
Thought I would let you know since the game is fucking dying despite being really playable and needs more people.

Friendly reminder that the game is dying because the devs are absolute faggot retards and went from a F2P project of love to trying to charge players per fucking hour they play.
Zachary Reyes
i wanted to play but you have to install a fucking custom client, otherwise you're disadvantaged
i can't be bothered to do that shit since i'm probably just gonna play for 15 minutes and get gored by a fucking boar
Blake Taylor
It's 3d now? It's been years since I last played H&H
William Lopez
This.
Also weird item additions like icicles and shit.
Did they ever fix hunting? Naowhut came back first day and killed a bear with a starter guy. I had fun on it for awhile when it first updated but after a couple deaths no villages to join because of low players I quit again.
Matthew Reed
what's the difference between this heap of shit and salem now?
John Jackson
The idea of being able to modify the enviroment and craft about anything is really a great concept for a mmo, but literally throwing your character naked in the middle of the woods is a mistake. It is also really boring having to gather stuff for hours and then have to build everything from scratch...
I'd be eager to play the game if it allowed me to own npc slaves to do the gatheting and building.
Jeremiah Barnes
that's what bots are for user :^)
Jonathan Stewart
They dropped that retardation last world. There is still p2w but it's more lenient. Now you get increased learning points and slightly more inventory space. You can have only half of those benefits with a 1 time pay if you actually like the game. You punch every animal to death now, with no defense at all. I hope they improve the current system because defense is dumb and ants do damage no matter how strong you are.
Anyone interested in starting some small village/hermit alliance for the next world? I'm gonna be playing on day one until I get bored or raped by a bear.
John Wright
>the devs are absolute faggot retards infinite stat gain, infinite quality levels, and potentially someone pulling a DBZ training montage to become a physical god in-game. all inside a wrapper of p2w and grinding
that's H&H "gameplay"
>Also weird item additions like icicles the best part about that "addition" was it either came with or shortly after a server wipe, and it was setup so that the first person to claim them basically had a monopoly on them, since person claims basically exclude anyone who doesn't have trespass skill from entering. (and doing so will leave a crime scent that can lead the victim to you for revenge. even when offline.)
the function of the item let XP items "curiosities" (some which take weeks to process) to complete the research timer instantly.
if you found an icicle and put a personal claim on it you basically had the early server given to you on a silver plate, because you could immediately XP grind to tresspass/murder and BTFO of anyone trying to steal from you.
Nathan Howard
It's f2p now, with the ability to buy hats and additional "character development" (like 30% more FEPs and LP from curios). You can play as much as you want now but don't start planning on being a titan on f2p because you will be out-grinded by p2p people.
Custom clients take 2 seconds to use. You just extract a file and run an exe. It's probably harder to use the custom client using java.
If you mean shit like you can hunt from boats and block animals with liftables, then no. It's still very easy to make a mistake when using these hunting techniques though so it's only really for people who know 100% what they're doing. People die trying to use hunting exploits on bears and stuff all the time because they do it wrong.
They did completely revamp combat and it's more autistic now but seems to be good to all the PvP people so whatever.
This still has all the base mechanics on the old haven but in salem style graphics. They have been making additions pretty much weekly since they started making money so a lot has changed.
John Russell
There will be a stat limit now for most skills of 1000, with a max limit of 2000 with buffs from equipment/realm/alcohol.
I do agree that the resources are dumb, but if you start on day one you can monopolize something if your autism is good enough
Ayden Sanchez
They capped stats at 330 base (660 with gear) for a time during this server but it simply didn't work and killed PvP. It was just too low and drove away the small circle of powergamers that mostly make up the game now.
The stat cap will be 999 base for the next server reset. Gear possibly doubles that also.
Remember that everyone is starting again on equal footing in less than a week so if there is any time to start playing, that's when.
Jayden Wright
yeah i didn't know they put in a stat cap, as i basically swore off the game when they went full retard with the instant-XP "you are winner" icicles.
ultimately, the idea of losing all your shit in an MMO that involves grinding doesn't appeal to me after dealing with H&H's bullshit. if there were pre-established villages you could claim and bootstrap the server population into, and the game eventually reached the point where gold coins exist "as an intermediate for trades" that would be nice.
but no.
just endless russian murder-hobo robots waging war against the korean hive mind and english-speaking lone wolves.
Ryder Green
That's the fun in the game though. It's not fun if it's just farming and building with barely any risk.
Gavin Edwards
Return to 2D sprites when
Joseph Lewis
This is very wrong.
They created a feature where if you go through an open gate on someones claim then you cannot commit crimes. There are massive and public trade depots with their own barter stands and unique coins that anyone can travel to.
>if there were pre-established villages There's an entire fucking subforum just to recruit new players into pre-established villages. Just because you're an autistic asshole who never actually got engaged in the community for a community-driven game doesn't make it bad.
This. The farming and building mechanics aren't that great, it's the people aspect that takes this game off the ground.
Asher Ramirez
Never unless you pay $15 shekels for access to the legacy server
Wyatt Thomas
3D isn't as bad as you think, but the game is shittily optimised. I agree that legacy haven had it's own charm, but the confusing hitboxes and un-rotatable camera killed it.
Legacy server has less than 2 people playing at any given time on a gigantic map. Really fun just to look around at all the shit people fought for and shittalked each other about crumbling into nothing. Awhile back some Polish people destroyed the last Russian village from legacy.
Cooper James
...
Alexander Adams
I'm gonna roam the fuck out of the world only to find one of these.
And I hope they remember to not put the resources full when they restart the world.
Christopher Rogers
It's a shame they ruined the game with the whole payment model.
Juan Smith
During world 9, to get more PvP action, they genned an extension of a few supergrids with something like 10x the amount of localised resources so you could find shit like this all the time. The issue was they took so long to respawn and lots of people had alts nearby to collect as soon as they popped.
Ice is worst at the start of the server anyway, since you won't be able to get curios that are as good.
For fuck sake the game is f2p now, holy shit
Leo Davis
Yeah, but, it's been so long that everything worthwhile has most likely been claimed. So, it'll be like World 3 where no new players could get metal.
Michael Howard
You can't claim them.
Joshua Flores
>Ice is worst at the start of the server anyway, since you won't be able to get curios that are as good. You can easily spam cave wall curios to get enough advantage to start all your stuff
Luke Watson
> Game still uses the awful Curio system rather than the LP system.
Sad times. Basically made the game worse for everyone because some tryhards botting.
Lincoln Bell
Let's be honest, bucket crafting wasn't that fun. I did like the deforestation that it caused
Isaiah Phillips
Best system would be a mix of the two.
Curios for lots of LP.
Crafting for minor amounts of LP, when you just need a quick boost or something.
At the moment, early game is pretty boring as you're waiting for curios to learn basic skills.
David Cooper
the old LP system was worse then curios in every way
Thomas Wright
I wanted to play this game so much but, wow it's such a mess. You have to read through guides just to figure out what the fuck to do and it's ridiculously barren.
>game is doing a complete map and character reset scheduled for the 7th of January It looks a lot nicer.
But unless they've changed how skills, health and whatever else works I won't touch this crap. Oh and then there's the fact that the vanilla client is a marvel of awful engineering.
Oh, and lastly, if the game resorts to P2W with increased skill gain and whatever else, it's already ruined and cancer. Any survival game like this which has increased stat gain and P2W is not fun to play for the vast majority of people.
Logan Harris
> Game is F2P now.
Yeah, and they made it completely P2W.
What's the point? It's ruined.
Carter Collins
You're all fucking casuals who play alone anyway. There's no way you would be able to keep up even if the game were completely equal to paying and non-paying players because you're shit.
Carson Diaz
If you get into a confrontation with other player, you are going to lose to bots that don't even pay money anyways, like always, what's the difference?
Mason Parker
Kek
> Why does nobody play this game?
WELL, IF YOU'RE NOT DEDICATING TWENTY FUCKING HOURS TO THE GAME, YOU'RE A CASUAL.
Liam Kelly
Yes
Andrew Price
H&H dev spotted
your game's bad and Moose won't save it
Xavier Perry
Yeah this.
I love the game but fuck man I can't keep up with the time sink like I could four years ago.
Easton Rodriguez
Here is the thing, you are only shitposting. If you are a casual you have no reason to care about the higher speed in which subscribers progress, if you are hardcore you are botting so it doesn't matter because you got 10 other characters doing everything.
Ian Williams
>insulting buckets Fuck you. Just, fuck you.
Fuck this entire shill thread.
Isaiah Gutierrez
I just want people to play with and don't feel alone for the month I'll play before getting bored.
Colton Thomas
I remember watching a Projared video about this game a long time ago. He said he loved it despite it being incredibly grindy and tedious, taking hours and hours to do a single thing.
Easton Collins
I played it because of his review.
Oh how wrong he was.
Landon Lopez
Our place, quit early in this world and came back not long ago and rebuilt it.
Oliver Anderson
How many worlds have you played in? My group is always looking for nice dudes who are dedicated.
Kevin Barnes
>playing the game and having to spend 20 minutes walking around a massive fuckhuge base fuck this game
Robert Scott
Why is making a comfy-ass base a negative trait lmao, kys
Justin Perry
I remember back in 2D HnH I got a group of people from a forum to join me on the game.
There was like 20 of us, and the guy who became the leader was some annoying fuck.
By this point, I'd already been playing for a bit, so, I knew not to do the stupid shit.
Anyway, found a scent he left lying around, summoned him and murdered him on an alt I had.
They spend the day tracking me. Whilst I was on two accounts, one leading the tracking, the other moving away with my alt.
Nathan Wood
Roads and running friend, doesn't take long to get around.
You can also shorten that time by riding a horse or going supreme lazy mode and building road stones to teleport around.
Tyler Reyes
I played since 3, but normally for small periods of time. Maybe my maximum has been 3 months. Started to play on this world like 2-3 weeks ago and dropped it when I saw the announcement in order to not get bored for no reason.
I'm working on stopping being a neet, so after the first week I will play less hours than usual so I'm more interested in some kind of hermit-lite group.
Nice, just like a professional HnH player
Jonathan Russell
Would you visit this trading hub?
Grayson James
>tfw I've travelled the world and seen all it's sights feels good
Zachary Nelson
Pic related is the New Years party that took place on the 30th. One of the devs showed up, and was promptly killed. It was mostly safe if you stayed inside though.
Joshua Thompson
Another pic of the New Year party
Nathaniel Roberts
One more
Anthony Martinez
>You are the one of the main devs of a small survival game >You visit a community party out of good faith >You go take a dump trusting in your players >When you come back you see you were murdered in cold blood and your body stripped of its clothes I find this so funny
Dominic Perez
He would have been fine if he had been inside. Accordingly to dani he was ark outside for several hours open to attack before someone got him.
Evan Green
>tfw traveling around to the ruins of once great cities that were raided
Kayden Smith
It's pretty surreal. So much created for nothing.
During the last days of legacy, the game felt post apocalyptic. Never in any game have I ever had experianced a feeling of barren emptiness as legacy haven. Not even in games like metro and fallout which are meant to feel barren and empty.
Blake Clark
I know this feel.
>abandoned fields >coops of dead chickens >buildings dark red ready to fall over >contents of cupboards tell how far people had achieved >half rotted settlements >all that's left are roads/land borders >and a dozen little green fires
Austin Price
These last weeks I came back to the game I saw the exact same thing. All abandoned places, even Russians abandoned their settlements. Huge underground cities where no one lives anymore, except the annoying bats.
It's a conflicted feeling, those people did actually leave their mark in the world and I managed to see it and use some of it.
