Feeling down /v. One of the few, if not only, shooter mmo I really enjoy seems to be going down fast. Recently the Russian server was shut down.
I know this game is not very popular, but to me and my bro its so damn fun. Its unique in that there is no lobby where you wait for a match to start, you are in the world and can do none mission task to pass the time if you want.
The combat it awesome to me. The guns are rally fun to learn and play different styles.
Just here kinda venting and hoping it will bring attention to the game, so others cab enjoy it, before it goes down.
Oh man I remember the game. Played it a ton in beta. To bad I never could get my friends interested... Hopefully someone buys the rights to the character/car customization, best I ever saw.
William Lee
I just don't know why no one can get this game right. Realtime Worlds failed horribly with it, then GamersFirst got it and they continue to blunder with it.
Adrian Howard
It truely is awesome when it comes to customization. No other game let's you do so much to make a character truely yours.
The cloths and cars designing is super fucking fun
Jace Long
This is the single most P2W game I have ever played, the customization is the only redeeming aspect of the entire game.
GamersFirst deserve this crashing and burning, they are one of the greediest fucking companies I have ever seen in this industry.
Joseph Cook
Seems GamersFirst is actually releasing it on consoles now.
Also PC is supposed to have an engine upgrade . I've seen screenshots and it looks amazing
I hope that is enough to keep it going.
Carter Anderson
Clearly you've never played shit like S4 League or Combat Arms if you think APB is the most P2W thing ever. Yeah it's annoying the amount of unique guns on the cash shop, but you can still manage with the normal shit in the game. Not like other games where the cash shop is the same guns as the normal ones, but double the damage and with armor that halves damage taken.
Wyatt Garcia
I won't deny the p2w. I've bought a few lock boxes myself and gained some nice weapons.
But you really have to be good with them. I've had players with starter rifle destroy me
I farmed for a few months and I finally found one cheap enough for me to buy. Its a fun little pistol
Brandon Myers
Played this shit during Beta and then when it was released with RTW.
Shame it didn't do better. I thought it had a lot of promise. They also cut out a ton of stuff that I was looking forward to
Angel Torres
>The combat it awesome to me. The guns are rally fun to learn and play different styles. it's ridiculously imbalanced though, shotguns are so ridiculously fucking good, combat always devolves into running left and right out of the corner of a wall and shooting, there's really not any strategy.
Easton Cox
People running this game completely ruined it and just used it as a cash cow leading people along with the promises of "engine upgrade"
they LITERALLY haven't done anything with the same since 2013 and have like 6 people on staff, one of which is an out-sourced 52 year old woman from Texas as the community manager
William Brown
Man I actually bought this game. I was so fucking hyped about it and I wasn't dissapointed. Then it went away. Then it came back and I was ready to dive in again but no one wanted to join me. I hope they can fix their shit together this game is a gem with extremely rough edges.
Jaxson Martin
>max rank player playing with brand new players This is the whole reason the game is dead.
Sebastian Young
It's absolute horseshit is what it is. I remember when it first came out and literally every single enforcer had one of them. The amount of money that must have been spent to get that thing was baffling.
It was really frustrating because it was such a good little all-arounder that there was no longer any downside to any of the primary weapons, since you could just pack a Nano and use it as if it was your primary. So now instead of an OSMAW player having to be careful or a sniper having to avoid close range encounters, they could just rely on it and do everything fine.
Aiden Allen
Bought it too. I'm really curious how the console launches are going.
Are they bringing in lots of new players. I know console and PC servers are not linked
Liam Price
>BRs in the chat no thanks
Jonathan Howard
Yeah sadly cause of server merges lots of people all on one server
Jackson Jackson
Played this with my friends for a few months and it was simultaneously one of the most fun and infuriating games I've ever played.
Half the problem was the tiny playerbase meaning you couldn't ever get a balanced match. The entire playerbase was crammed into the Silver server, meaning that if you actually did well and rose to Gold rank, you were essentially punished with lower EXP gain for playing in the Silver server, but you had no option to play on the Gold server since nobody fucking played there.
I think what the game really needed was larger mission group sizes. If it was like 10 or 15 people on each side of an open mission it would feel much more fun. 3v3 missions just made the game incredibly stressful, since the TTK was low as fuck and dying put you and your team at a huge disadvantage.
Half the time we'd be trying to play and we'd get matched up against some faggot group that had clearly dumped thousands of hours and dollars into the game, running around with rocket launchers that could destroy our cars in one hit while we only had guns. They would know every single exploitable spot in the whole map, meaning there was no way for us to even have a chance at winning once they got there.
Customization was 10/10 and I seriously don't know why this shitty fucking game managed to do what no other MMO has ever managed in that regard.
Connor Johnson
The game really fosters a mentality of "DO EVERYTHING TO WIN MUST WIN MUST WIN" so everyone throws away anything resembling fun and just goes full on competitive at all times. I think it's largely because the winning side gets so much more exp/cash than the losing side.
A few years back, when Suji's place didn't have an extra doorway in the back of it, I played 5 matches in a row that ended in the "grab the item and defend it" mode and all 5 times the other team would get the item and rush across town to Suji's and hold the item, even if it was literally on the other side of town from the rest of the mission.
Jackson Richardson
I like the idea of larger group missions.
I usually always request backup to get as many people playing as possible. Had a few matches with 8+ members, and you wanna talk about fucking fun.
I know ATM the individual servers only allow a max of 80 people, so that hurts larger group play
Nolan Clark
The matchmaking. The pay2win, the shit servers, and the blatant hacking are what i believe killed this amazing concept.
Thomas Morgan
Yeah I remember that shit.
Tried going back to it a few months ago, joined a mission where some Enforcer on the other side was just running around with some LTL gun, dropping crims than you could possibly do anything to him, even if you had the drop on him. I swear it was less than half a second from the time he saw you until you were on the ground getting cuffed and looking at a 30 second respawn timer.
It immediately reminded me how absolutely shit the balance is in this game and I uninstalled immediately. Not fucking worth it.
Jaxon Diaz
Was he using the PIG? I can't believe they still haven't nerfed that thing after all this time.
Carson Barnes
I'm with you brother. Spent so much time and money on this game despite knowing that it is going to die. Releasing on console was the dumbest idea ever and just a poor attempt to push back the deadline for engine update. I love the game, its unique and unlike any other multiplayer game, but its run by the worst company ever and theyre going to milk this game until its a lifeless husk.
Christopher Rivera
I won't deny it, hackers seem to avoid bans easy. Last couple of days tho, I've seen very few. Like 1 or 2 max
Sebastian Hall
forgot pic
Aiden Cook
I did the math one time. For the time I've been playing, I've spent basically the same as the monthly WoW sub, so think I'm doing OK.
Lincoln Rodriguez
...
Samuel Bell
Yeah pretty sure that was it. It was like 2 bullets and you were done. I don't know why they thought that was okay.
Oh and I forgot to mention the constant and very obvious cheating. I've never seen so many blatant hackers in an online game.
Fuck. This game was so close to being amazing. Every time my friends and I talk about APB we just say how it was almost the best game ever. We had some really good times but it was all overshadowed by the bullshit.
Ayden Scott
I have fun with it so I think its justified. But knowing its going to die soon kind of invalidates it.
Levi Thompson
...
Christopher Sullivan
Shit that is awesome.
Reminds me of the time I rented a rocket launcher. Whole Crim team was riding in same car, and was bout to run me over. Pulled out launcher and killed all 4 at once
Joseph Turner
> Driving still feels like ice skating. > Gunplay is still terrible. > TTK still far too low for a third person game. > Cash shop has only got worse. > LTL still awful. > Matchmaking still non-existent.
Kevin Gray
That's what me and my bro say all the time. We love the game. Always come back to it.
But we get so pissed when there are blatant hackers on opposing team.
Andrew Robinson
Back when I played in like 2012-2015 the game really wasn't pw2. But now that pistol they added and a bunch of the other joker box weapons are actually insane.
I'm happy I quit when I did because things really went downhill recently.
joker east = joker beast
Xavier Ross
Just checked only have 565 hours

This just shows you how detailed you can be with creating your own gear
3.0 is the next update, hopeful people are saying march or april 2017, it'll probably be more like july but we have no idea. What we have in the game now is some instanced gameplay and one really laggy huge multiplayer area where you fly around to various places and get attacked by NPC pirates, and 3.0 is supposed to be this:
I would not recommend buying into this game right now, but keep an eye on that shit and see what happens when 3.0 drops.
Ryder Jackson
LTL is supposed to be worse than lethal weapons because you have a significantly longer spawn time when you get arrested.
Dylan Watson
I didn't even know it was coming to console. Is it out yet for either?
Dominic Parker
Hmmm that could be fun. Will keep an eye on it
Easton Young
And they already were worse back then due to the fact that you had to physically arrest them as well otherwise you're just essentially using a longer TTK weapon for no reason, but because Criminals whined hard enough they got nerfed to be near useless due to everything requiring even more shots to do a takedown.
Christopher Sanchez
Xbox is out now. PlayStation any day now.
Kayden Murphy
>game had an event >got the nano and cap 40 It was okay. Playing with lag taught me the importance of positioning.
Jayden White
Huh, I'll have to give it a go on both and see if they got any player bases. Thanks for the info man
