I never even played it and I don't really understand why the game seems to have taken on more fame and relevance in recent years. When it came out it was on the cover of a couple of magazines and got middling reviews and that was it. I was busy playing Mortal Kombat 3 and salivating over pictures of the PlayStation in magazines.

I've beaten Comix Zone. Got the good ending as well(which leads to 100% filling the Super Hero Meter).

I got close when I was a kid.
I thought I could do it now but i'm even worse than I was then, it fucking pisses me off I thought the big meme was "games aren't getting easier, you're just better at them."
Still have the original cart too.

I never beat it. I didn't think anyone in my house growing up beat it until I watched a play through on YouTube and recognized the ending. It must have been my mom. The same thing happened when I watched a Sonic Pinball play through.

Good ending = Kill final boss and save Alisa from drowning fast enough.
Bad Ending = Alisa drowns if you do not save her fast enough especially when killing the final boss.

Stage 2: I still have absolutely no idea how to grab enemies, but I found out there's a block button, and apparently my rat can find hidden objects.

Playing the game in the Genesis 6 button mode? Genesis 3 button mode, the blocking is automatic and I think thats done if you are standing still.

Your life bar might as well just be cut in half thanks to the shit you have to destroy to progress actually hurting you, it's THAT kind of asshole game.

The health drain is stupid, but the game gives you so many drinks that it doesn't really matter.

In my defense I only played the demo nonstop.

I kinda dig the more retro looking backgrounds, but I think the game we ultimately got looks superior.

This game is... pretty fucking hard, but a lot of it seems to be just from weirdass design choices like enemies being able to break out of hitstun whenever they fucking want to hit you

I beat CX like once a year. It's not that hard a game really. I don't get the Comix Zone is hard meme. It's only like 6 pages, you can do it in half an hour.

Death drops are the worst in this game

The game itself was pretty easy, you can beat it in 15-20 minutes.

Did anyone else think that when the hero meter was full, he would stay super for the rest of the game? I got a little annoyed when I beat the final boss before it happened.
