Do people even care anymore?
Has Valve missed the boat on this?

HL3 hype is a meme now. It'll sell because it's a meme. I have friends that talk about HL3 that have only played 2. Not even the episodes.
No, HL series is not a holy grail anymore. People realized how badly HL2 aged. The only thing that is still good about it is the setting.
>meme now
>now
it's been a meme for 10 years you newfag
i hate valve now becuase of this
infact hl2 wasnt even that great
...
Dubs and Valve releases HL3 as a text adventure game for smartphones.
Honestly
am trying to make of Metzen a edgy memelord like Gabe but
FFFFUUUCCKK!
That man is so insulated in his fucking chubness that I srsly think he got some in his skull too.
Fuck his HL today and ever.
Idiot.
Left VALVE to worship Blizard 12 years ago, not turning back good Obi Uan!
What I think is that HL3 was on track to be released like a couple of years ago or so, but then VR started to look like it would be a thing. So now they scrapped everything and are building everything from the ground up to be a VR exclusive. We probably won't see anything about the game until the 20's.
What would you want to see from modern-gen HL3?
Because it's going to be impossible or shitty
and Valve knows it
Dubs don't exist on Sup Forums idiot
I expected HL3 to be released when VR got mainstream.
But I guess VR never went mainstream.
RAMIREZ! GO TAKE OUT THAT COMBINE WALKER WITH YOUR ZERO POINT ENERGY FIELD MANIPULATOR!
Because HL1 and HL2 had their own new gimmicks as well.
Who was even Ramirez?
Some guy summed it up perfectly earlier.
It does not exist. Valve won't say anything about it because why would they? There's literally no reason to do anything with because they're basically printing money.
They simply don't give a fuck because the community still keeps the game "alive". It would probably be better if people actually stopped caring about it because there must be at least some sentimentality left to it on behalf of Valve.
I don't care about it as a video game.
I care about it as a story that I got invested in and want to see the end off.
Give me a fucking book or a comic for all I care, just show me the end. I don't give a shit about the game.
It's clear that Valve doesn't want to make singleplayer games anymore, so seriously just give us a book.
One of the playable characters in the MW2 campaign.
Not HL3 but HLVR will be announced at GDC. You don't play as Gordon.
It'll be a competitive moba shooter with cosmetics and crates
They are waiting for the Orange Box anniversary to announce it
Just chill the fuck out
stop speaking forever
2017 is the year where HL2 EP2 will have its 10 year anniversary.
This is basically the last year where it's still ok to believe that HL3 might have a chance of releasing.
After the anniversary there's basically no hope left.
That would piss some people off but it's certainly better then a dead-end.
Are the "episodes" an important part of the main story or just additions? Haven't played Half life
it will be an HTC Vive exclusive
Important part.
Episodes 1 to 3 were basically supposed to be Half-Life 3 in itself, but EP3 never came out so we don't know how it ends.
True, just like how there's an odd number of digits on your hands. The very same digit that's at the end of this one's post.
HL3 is the new Duke Nukem Forever. It's strange that a company like valve would waste such a good universe.
Never did. Didn't particularly like Half Life 1 or 2. Controls felt loose and the physics that people praised I felt was too light and floaty. The games just feel didn't responsive no matter how I tweaked them. Other than that the only interesting thing was maybe the concept of the whole breaking into another dimension similar to "The Mist" type setting. But yeah, the games were kind of overrated. Also I like long games with substance but the Hlaf Life games just seemed to drag on and on and by the time I beat them it felt more like I was doing a chore.
It's strange from a player standpoint, yeah, but if you consider how much money they make for basically F R E E from Dota 2 and CS:GO cosmetics, it's obvious why they don't want to bother wasting resources on a singleplayer game.
They published their "top 100 games measured by their revenue this year" list.
In the top "platinum" tier there's 12 games, 2 of them being CS:GO and Dota 2.

Dota is a fucking F2P game and CS:GO is dirt cheap. And yet these games are in the top 12 for most revenue earned in 2016. I'd wager they're both top 2 even, but the list is randomized and every time you refresh the positions in a tier change.
>good universe
Too bad everything interesting exists only as removed concepts.
