Aviary Attorney.

Phoenix Wright but with birds in revolutionary France and bird puns.

witcher 3

Deus ex games, even new ones

Hotel Dusk

LA Noire

Ghost Trick

Blade Runner, that shit's just comfy as fuck.

The Silver Case.

I'd personally categorise Deadly Premonition as a comfy detective game. Granted, there's lots of surreal and supernatural stuff, and the game can be hard to get into. There's a high chance you won't like it, but I personally love it dearly, despite its faults its like nothing else.

However be warned, if you decide to give it a try, that the PC version is rather messy, it can give you some headaches trying to make it work. I myself played on PS3 and didn't find any problems outside of a bug involving the second fishing rod. Other than that it worked pretty well, so it might be worth looking into if you have the console

>love police quest
>1 gets a great remaster in the 90s
>3 came out at a time where games had progressed to the same style the remaster was at
>2 remains untouched and for all intents and purposes unplayable by todays standards
damn man why couldnt they just remake 2 as well

But user, why don't you remake it?

Ghost trick and Ace Attorney Investigations

because i'm not a video game maker
i can't into art or visuals or mechanics or music
i don't own the license
there's a litany of reasons

Is there some special setting to get that emulated properly?

The Testament of Sherlock Holmes. The first 30% of the game is probably the best detective game ever created, with sensible deduction system that doesn't let you guess and other stuff.
Sadly, then it becomes a mediocre point'n'click game where you use shit on shit to make shit happen.
Also, Still Life, Discworld Noir, D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die and The Wolf Among Us. ABC Crimes is pretty comfy, but a mediocre game overall.

Bad bird puns.
It's a pretty good game, but it does everything worse than Ace Attorney.

These.

I really enjoyed Crimes and Punishment and Devil's Daugter. Vs Jack the Ripper was lower quality but it was still a comfy one time play through. Actually just started nemisis and I have The Awakened installed for when I'm finished with Nemisis. I'm wearly of Awakened though because as far as I've read it deals with supernatural shit and possessions and stuff which is pretty out of place for the Sherlock series. We'll see though. I'll check out Testament too.

Was looking at D4 too but didn't jump on it. I'll give it another look. Bought ABC crimes on sale a few months ago but still haven't played much, just the first 5 or so minutes. Seems to be a knockoff of the sherlock series from what I've seen so far, and the voice acting and over all production value is pretty awful, but I have a feeling I'll enjoy it despite that.

condemned criminal origins

Not that user, but I have played D4, and I have to say that it's probably good that you didn't make the jump.

Personally, I like the game. It's really stylish, has some pretty good music and the premise is interesting and presented rather well. It's an enjoyable little thing, but it's also really short, it can be easily finished in two hours, it ends on a massive cliffhanger, and it will never be finished. So it's rather hard to recommend. End game the only thing left is to unlock more outfits and grind money, nothing too thrilling, I'm afraid. Which is a shame because the game was really promising

If you really want it, I'd wait for a good sale

Snatcher is an interesting game, give it a look

Jack Orlando

ah cool, thanks

been looking at it for a while actually, never got around to downloading and setting up the proper emulators but it's on the list

Puzzle Agent?

It's smart, it's funny, it's set during the winter...

>comfy

...

avoid the dogshit jap ds games (ace attorney, ghost trick, hotel dusk). seriously

The Testament of Sherlock Holmes

*BEEP BEEP*
*PZZZZZZT!!!!!*

Here you go, sir!!!

I think SNATCHER is a pretty neat game.

there's a flash game called "where's an egg?" on homestarrunner.com, it will fulfil your detective desires

why was the other thread deleted, what the fuck? it was LITERALLY about video games and everyone in the thread was discussing detective games

what the actual fuck

The story is fucking awful. Although it is comfy, if OP only cares about that.

i guess we got too slightly off topic, still mad though

Ghost Trick is actually good, and the three Ace Attorney are GBA remakes and made for children, they are good for what they are (of course, if you are an adult and have a PC there is no reason whatsoever to play them over dozens of better adventure games).
Hotel Dusk and 999 are genuinely bad, though.

interesting, i've heard nothing but good things about hotel dusk

yeah, forgot about 999 too. another shit game.

Ghost trick is the best out of all the time, you're right. but being the best turd in a pile of dung isn't a great accomplishment.

Vanishing of Ethan Carter likes to pretend its one, but it's mostly fluff. Ending aint great either
