Console game remake gets announced for the pc
but atelier has been shit since the late PS3 games
That just shows that brand warriors doesn't like good games, the like a sticker that says "PS4 EXCLUSIVE". If you haven't checked the comments on gematsu, I suggest you doing that now.
I loved Atelier Sophie! Everything was so gated in the past games that it would take multiple playthroughs just to discover most of the events. The people that are bitching about the game were using guides and spoilers in previous games.
Except people hate Escha and Logy/Shallie too, and they're not coming to PC. Ateliers have been bad for a while now. It's too bad, really.
Sophie is the first full atelier game that KT has full control of ever since they bought Gust, so naturally they'd want to attract more players with an easier game. All companies want to make money, there's nothing wrong with that.
Of course, it attracts vitriol of "old fans" who thinks that easy games are the nails of a coffin, but if the sales increase they don't really have any comeback. And Sophie did exceed expectations in Japan.
Sophie is just bad, dude
Didn't really seem like it worked, though, since Firis had way worse sales. Seems like people gave Sophie a chance and then didn't like it. Or maybe not, I don't know.
>The people that are bitching about the game were using guides and spoilers in previous games.
You don't know that.
You forgot
>PEESEA FAGGOTS RUINED THE COMMUNITY!
First time I heard this from musou-general. Because as we all know there were musous on PC prior 8.
And souls-fag are even more rabid, but they are clinical case
I'd say souls fag have a point though, Demon Souls went from a little niche title to this massive hype machine that everybody keeps memeing about.
That has nothing to do with PC though that's just what happens to popular games.
It has everything to do with the Steam release, dude, Dark Souls 1 wasn't shilled as some HARDCORE GAME DESIGN before receiving a port.
>PC REEEEEEEE
Could've saved us all time it has nothing to do with that and everything to do with it going mainstream. Just fuck off retard.
> Because as we all know there were musous on PC prior 8.
Those were Jap only tho. Aside from the DW Online which was garbage
I wouldn't put too much thought into Firis sales since digital sales are a thing in Japan as well and those are not count in media create sales and the series has had ups and downs with sales anyhow.
Guts productions are shit since they shifted to 3D.
Ar Tonelico 3 was shit, Ar no surge was shit, Yoru no nai kuni was shit.
I never played Atelier, but I sure am willing to believe you.
By the way, Atelier Firis will also be on PC.
Is that one a good game then?
has any gust game ever been "difficult" ?
I've never played any Atelier game but I love JRPGs.
So, is low difficulty the main reason Sophie gets shit on?
No, atelier Sophie gets shit on for being uninspired boring garbage
You can get the bad end really easily in PS3 Rorona if you weren't careful about how you spent your time. I hear they fixed it in Rorona+ but I haven't played that.
Sophie wasn't anything special, and we all know players demand every game to be groundbreakingly exciting.
I enjoyed Sophie's alchemy mechanic, it was more enjoyable than all previous ones.
can't wait for that sweet feel of playing Atelier in 5K/120fps with mindblowing mods
stay fucking mad pscucks
Getting the hidden CGs in the localized Ar Tonelico 2 seems like it would be a nightmare, but that's because of a bug NISA's QA didn't catch and not actually by design.
People have been saying Atelier is getting bad since E&L and Shallie. You faggots are just retarded and know nothing about the IP or the community. Also you can play most atelier games on the PC just not Arland or Dusk, and Arland is the pinnacle of Atelier, Dusk is it's down fall.
Catering to casuals was a mistake, as always.
Maybe but the term"Artifical Difficulty" skyrocketed in use after pc release. Same for the "git gud"meme.
Like the good old days after 9/11 when Monster Hunter got put on the Wii instead of the PS3 and "Monster Hunter was never good" became the Sonybrony catchphrase in every thread for years.
You could play the game blind folded it was soo easy, people complained soo much they had to make a new difficulty setting and patch it in japan. The game felt empty, it's like the created a 3d space you can move the camera in freely but forgot to put shit for you to interact with, the towns are larger but are just as empty as in Arland creating a feeling of emptiness, while Arland was smart enough to keep everything dense so the towns felt alive.
These games also need time limits because it's the only thing keeping the games from becoming a grind fest.
No extra endings or character endings was the nail in the coffin, also it has soo few areas that had to add some in as dlc using reskined monsters and assets.
Over all the story was very uninspired.
>Rorona, an up and coming alchemist seeks to prevent her atelier from closing down!
>Totori, a girl seeks to be an adventurer to search for her lost mother
>Rorona, a girl seeks to better her backwater country
>Sophie, girl with downs syndrome find a book who is the real main character. Without Plachta Sophie is intolerable and a shitty alchemist and probably never leave her home town.
The differences is people were shitting on Sophie before the PC releases was announced.
