Yeah that's my main gripe, being grey just isn't worth it, so I might as well max dark and force lightning my way through every encounter
It's almost like she's fucking evil.
>>Game punishes you for not maxing one side or the other (even locks you out of content on certain planets)
Fuck you, it was just one (1) cave in Korriban. And Kreia was manipulating you from the beginning and trying to throw you off. Pay attention, asshole.
>advises you to not blindly follow the Sith or the Jedi
>complain when you blindly did nothing
fucking retard
>It's almost like she's fucking evil.
She did literally nothing wrong.
>even locks you out of content
A Prestige Class, a companion, and a sidequest and you have to actually be trying not to get enough alignment points to unlock them.
Also, 'don't blindly follow the Sith or Jedi' is not equivalent to 'be neutral at all times' and the game itself criticises being so stupid as to think so. Kreia just wants you to think about the deeper context, meaning and consequences of your actions - not just act arbitrarily like a messiah or a psychopath.
These.
Manipulate me to do what? Throw me off from what?
>franchise pushes the "light side" as being good and the "dark side" as being evil
>Light side is fueled by self-control, restraint, and distancing one's self from emotion
>Dark side is fueled by passionate emotions like rage, but also love, fervent desire to protect others, and desperation
>Jedi are literally telling you to be a fucking emotionless robot
>"Dark Side" users are almost always evil, or become evil trying to do the right thing
>Grey Jedi get little representation, and when they do they're depicted as assholes or "i ain't gettin' involved" true neutral
It's bullshit. It's bullshit that there's never a dark side good guy. It's bullshit that it's called "The dark side". Fucking Lucas reeeee
I sure loved carrying some old fart around berating me for every decision in a role playing gameā¢
this is why the first kotor is better desu
>Manipulate me to do what?
Prove an ideological point.
>Throw me off from what?
Recognising that she was doing the above.
Seriously, if you go back and go through the first few conversations with her again, she lies to you about three or four important things in the first major conversation alone.
The guiding character was a sith so you were supposed to either reject her or completely go with her
whats old ladies personality like?
tempted to buy game with my dick
You can follow the light side or dark side without being a Sith or a Jedi.
>whats old ladies personality like?
Lewd and abrasive.
>tempted to buy game with my dick
Well, good news for you user, because it has four of the best waifus in vidya.
i only like old women but if she's gonna judge me harshly thats enough for me thx .
>Blindy do something
>complains
>Think about something deeply before acting

10/10 best character ever
You also won't get a prestige class.
This is literally every RPG with a morality system ever though
>Go through game making decisions according to my own morality
>End up neutral
>Every
>Single
>Time
In SW, Lawfulfags can't handle a bit of chaotic action without going batshit insane.
Chaoticfags are batshit insane.
True neutrals are always fags in most settings anyway.
I guess the true message in all this shit is that Force is the cancer corrupting people's minds (even non-"force sensitive" ones) and killing the universe, all Force users should be hunted and killed on sight.
PRETZELS LIE
THEY CORRUPT
REVAN UNDERSTOOD SNACKS
She also immediately complains if you go "too sith" in your choices (like killing people just because you can).
Jolee was a good representation of a Grey Jedi.
The problem with the Dark Side is that it's almost always presented in circumstances where the instruction of the time (the Sith teachings at the Academy in the first game, for example) is teaching people to intentionally remove their nicer motivators in an attempt to gain more power - and that's pretty much always the case, since any organised teaching of 'the dark side' is always Sith philosophies. Which lead to situations like the games, where 90% of the Sith are composed of clueless retards torturing people for no reason.
It's also often implied that the act of using the Force for selfish or overly-destructive purposes itself forms a feedback loop; where the more you do it the more the Force is 'telling' you it wants to be used for that, so eventually even saner or more grounded characters slip.
>but if she's gonna judge me harshly thats enough for me thx
Well, she's gonna do that for sure. There's also a delicious Christmas Cake (my personal favourite) but she might not be old enough for your tastes.
>and you have to actually be trying not to get enough alignment points to unlock them.
You need 75% of the bar filled either way. It's really not that hard to never reach it or get there so late you'll barely get any PrC levels if you actually act like Kreia wants you to - think about the situation yourself instead of going "fuck yeah more X side points".
>Make rational choices that preserve the status quo
>Actively roleplay decisions I'd make myself
>Select the "wrong" choice because everything is worded poorly
>Get the "bad" end
Guess the game
>Atris is fucking insane and becomes a pure Jedi purely because of how bad she wants Exile's big throbbing Force dick
>Game doesn't allow Exile to give it to Atris
>Atris has to feel through the force as Brianna gets the Exile every night instead
The character I played ended up pretty much dead on neutral without actually trying to
I was light to tits as a femexile to get into disciples pants
>>Think about something deeply before acting
>>complains
Not always, though. Usually if you can defend your reasoning she'll back off, for no Influence loss or even an Influence gain. Other times, she's either controlling the situation (her Lesson on Nar Shaddaa) or just being contrarian/tsundere.
>She also immediately complains if you go "too sith" in your choices (like killing people just because you can)
...that's because that's exactly the problem she has with the Sith, acting needlessly psychotic and killing people for no discernible reason. That's literally the problem.
>It's also often implied that the act of using the Force for selfish or overly-destructive purposes itself forms a feedback loop; where the more you do it the more the Force is 'telling' you it wants to be used for that, so eventually even saner or more grounded characters slip.
Which makes total sense, and it's easy to see how the Dark Side could be perceived as evil, but it just irks me that we never get to see it being used for good.
I like the fan theory about Rei being fueled by the Dark Side while fighting Kylo Ren in VII. Grief at losing Han, her love for her friends, her rage at Kylo, all of those are potent Dark Side emotions, and she managed to best a trained for user with little to no training? Even if she is a prodigy, somethin's fucky.
I just really really like how morally ambiguous the Force actually is, but we always get the "good vs evil" "black vs white" "jedi vs sith" stories. The truth is so much more interesting.
>Game doesn't allow you to play Strip Pazaak with Atton
Wasted potential.
Wait so the main character of this game was essentially "hurr badurrr I was just pretending to be retarded"? Yikes
> new star wars
> fan theories
HAHAHAHAHA, it was just a fucking Mary Sue, kys stupid fantheory cucks
If I recall, isn't it written somewhere that Mace Windu uses an extremely aggressive style of saber combat, and studied dark side techniques to develop it, so he could counter them?
>I just really really like how morally ambiguous the Force actually is
The thing is the force isn't at all, it is incredibly simple and always was. It was never meant for more grander moral discussions and whenever anyone tries it becomes wonky and ill fitting.
It is like strapping an engine to a gokart thinking you can make a proper car, doesn't really work and you missed the original point.
>so the main character of this game was essentially "hurr badurrr I was just pretending to be retarded"?
No, you're just a fucking retard.
>it's another 'the force is just a plot device you guys, stop analysing kids' movies'
Maybe if Lucas wanted it left a plot device he shouldn't've gotten so philosophical with it.
Why does everyone call it "blindly following"? Just because I choose to do a lot of good things or a lot of bad things doesn't mean I'm blindly following something or someone.
Forgot where I read it, but wasn't there one jedi/sith that tried to preach that there was no good side or dark side to the force, that it just was, and that it was people that divided it because they can't understand something like the force being above their comprehension? And that jedi/sith got royally skull fucked by everyone over it?
Was this the Federation Force game Metroid fans wanted?
>It's really not that hard to never reach it or get there so late you'll barely get any PrC levels if you actually act like Kreia wants you to - think about the situation yourself instead of going "fuck yeah more X side points".
I've never really had this problem. Maybe it's due to being overly-familiar with the game, but I always end up unlocking it by the second planet at the latest, even if I later end up neutral. I mean, it is more difficult to maintain a Dark Side alignment without being a psychotic, but I didn't think it was /that/ difficult.
Again, to clarify - Kreia doesn't care if you look at a situation and take the stereotypical Light/Dark choice if you're doing it because you want to max your alignment. She just doesn't want you to do so arbitrarily.
I have too, but... you never got enough alignment points on one side of the scale to unlock any of that?
>>Game doesn't allow Exile to give it to Atris
Life truly is suffering. Handmaiden a top-tier waifu, though.
>Did you touch him?
>Did you look upon him with love?
Crazy Jedi girls are the best.
>he shouldn't've gotten so philosophical with it.
Just because he put a very light generalisation of sort of asian philosophy on top does not mean there is anything really deep to go at.
It doesn't help that when people try it leads to dumb fan fiction like cause everyone wants to add in their own special snowflake ideas. It just leads to a big jumbled mess, which is SW EU stuff in general
Well... what's the name of the game? xD
Knights of The Old Republic II my dude xD
>hating on SW EU
Woah, there.
EU has force axes. If you don't think that's the dopest shit, you can get right the fuck
Just wanted to say that Republic Commando was a bad FPS game.
>force axes
My point exactly
kind of off topic but I just bought and downloaded KOTOR 1. Any must have mods?
light side isn't ""fueled"" by lack of emotion
dark side isn't fueled by love
>hating force axes
We need more than just swords, double swords, and swords with two pointy sides, nigger, take yourself and your shitty opinions to another galaxy far, far away.
Explain the ending for me then because I've finished it once and still don't understand how Kreia betrayed me or why or the point of anything in the game aside from "the journey"
Invisible Headgear. That's it.
Make sure you have TSLRCM and Invisible Headgear for II
>following everything the hand-holder character tells you to do
>in a crpg
>5000 years in the past
>everything is the same as in the OT
wow
Star Wars sure is a limited Universe
did she show signs of being a sith through out the game?
I remember she just up and left being evil all of a sudden.
apathy is death
gee it's almost like the main villain is trying to fuck you over
>"bad" end
Kotor 2?
She was using you to create a very powerful force user. She succeeded
Doesn't she kill the entire jedi council with force lighting at some point?
It was blatantly visible even in first conversations, senpai.
Sure. You can unlock her story of it very early with influence.
>Doesn't she kill the entire jedi council with force lighting at some point?
No, it's far worse than that. She cuts them off from the Force, which for them was so damaging it was a death worse than by any Force power. You know earlier, when she described your turning away from the Force as choosing to cut off your own arm, or deafen yourself?
>'This master is dead... drained of life. His body is worse than lifeless - it is an absence in the Force.'
She literally ripped the Force out of them.
You were suppose to be the death of the force's living will and hold on people.
She wanted you to destroy the sith who betrayed her, she wanted you to show the jedi counsel how decadent they became. She loved the exile because of what he/she was too. A living wound in the heart of the force. Thats why she took an interest in you in the first place.
Ironic....she trained you to kill the force...but you end up killing her with the force...
For what purpose
damn that's super ironic bro
>neo-Sup Forums
This place is a fucking shithole.
Because you're another prize pupil to add to her collection. And the greatest one yet, due to your relationship with the force.
See
what game is this
> please read my super deep "analysis"
kys buddy
that'd be pretty ironic
She hated the jedi and the sith, partly because they exiled her. Once she hears about the exile, she seeks him/her out because she thinks someone who had cut themselves off from the force would be more powerful than anything. You more or less prove her right, just not in the way she suspects, I think
it's a waifu sim with some star wars and rpg elements thrown in
Except we aren't the same people you dumb fucking faggot. You should actually kill your self.
Knight's of the Old Republic. Specifically 2, but if you can play 1 and 2, and have a blast.
...
> get caught begging people to read his absolute drivel
> WE'RE NOT THE SAME PEOPLE, REEEEEEEEEE, FAGGOT FAGGOT FAGGOT
cover blown, buddy
final fantasy xii
I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish here user. Shit, I didn't even write that post.
>Guys whats this game about, I don't get it
This is what this game is about
>LOL KYS BUDDY
Wolf Among Us
Witcher 3
>Sup Forumstard goes on a shitposting rant.
>OMG I CAN'T LE WAIT TO SHIT XD
Please fucking leave cancer.
>that one user always posting essays in these threads
I mean, he's not wrong you fucking faggot. Stop shitting up the thread
>That one Redditor who can't read.
store.steampowered.com
this one right? Do you create your own character and then work your way up?
Witcher 3
Guys, I thought it was very deep and ironic moment, when I found out Kreia was super old and a woman, because you can choose your gender and are kind of young, but Kreia is old, ironic, and wrinkled, how ironic is that?
Yes. Play the first game first, though
Just report him. He's probably some faggot Sup Forumstard who misclicked and is shitting on the whole board.
>someone asks for an explanation
>someone obliges
>some mental case gets offended because more than two sentences appeared in a post
How ironic is it that in the prologue your ship is saved by a droid, and then you spend 5 hours hacking up mining droids?
Pretty ironic, eh fellas? I was like "ooof, this is ironic"
Just wanted to say that you're a bad person.
I'm not offended, you just really need something to do with your time.
Don't be so offended.
See this comment, I think both of you guys have a got a handle on this ironic game and should definitely keep posting your thoughts, they are very valued and not at all superfluous garbage that one would expect from a 12 year old ESL student.
downloading
>Disney will never allow the Star Wars setting to be as complex as KOTOR2 was
don't forget to get restored mod from workshop
will try it out
thanks bro
>Advises you to not blindly follow dogma.
>Get punished for blindly following her words as dogma.
Really fires up the ol' cylinders.
Hint: She wants you to be deliberate. Not abstain.
> star wars
> steam
> steam is heated up water
> water is made out of hydrogen
> hydrogen makes stars
> stars go to war
dam that's ironic
Kotor 2 is honestly not a good game if you don't download the restored content mod. It's on the workshop.
