I've always wanted to make a channel, but I just feel that in between uni, work, and other time-drainers it requires me sacrificing all my free time in order to make something that will probably equate to 4/10 quality content.
That's not to say I haven't tried though. When you guys started out were you bogged down with time constraints? And also how do you write script for your videos? Or do you just ramble in bits?
I was looking to exclusively make reviews/think pieces as opposed to lets plays.

I am kind of the same as you, I have Uni, freelance and family to deal with but you make time between the down hours and such.
When I do a game review, usually takes me a day or two to cap the footage I need.
Scripts take the same amount of time (maybe longer).
Also helps that my Uni and freelance works consists of making videos and post production skills.

YouTube just isn't worth the time and hasn't been for a while. If you're doing anything with gaming it's over saturated to the point that it will be almost impossible to get noticed and YouTube's recent algorithm changes stacks the deck further for established and corp owned channels.
Twitch and streaming is where it's at now.
