So is Rise from the Ashes "not canon", or "sorta canon"?
Also Ace Attorney thread, or Sorta Ace Attorney.

honeymoon period my ass, SoJ still holds up as one of the best Ace Attorney games thus far
The only issue with its canonicity was case 2-4's failure to mention it in the DS release, but that got fixed in the 3DS Trilogy port. Given that Ema went on to appear in four more games including two mainline ones (and the most recent one at that), it's 100% canon.
Young Emma is sexy, I want to sniff her loafers and lick her asshole.
Sorta canon.
Considering Ema goes on to show up in multiple AA games, its pretty canon.
I think the same but I'll double down and say that the Rakugo case is easily low tier, and people should be ashamed to call Uendo a good character.
Young cute science Emma > disgusting old cunt detective Emma
I just started 6-4. It's been pretty great so far. Blackquill shows up in this so it's already a high tier case for me unless there's some incredibly retarded shit like "a little kid fired a fucking revolver".
Wrong
IIRC, Blackquill is pretty popular in Japan too, he was definitely in the top ten in the latest character poll and I think he was around the 7th position (slightly higher than Athena, even). I hope he breaks the curse of the post-Edgeworth prosecutors and gets to appear in a meaningful capacity more than twice in the main series, it would be great if he kept his current friend/rival/mentor relationship with Athena going, I think it's one of the most entertaining.
I hope he comes back too. He's such an endearing and entertaining character. Competent as fuck prosecutor too.
Blackquill best boy
Hello Cykes-dono.
Agreed. He has been the only non-von Karma prosecutor to be competent.
What's wrong with Uendo?
>implying Franziska was competent
Couldn't even come up with a real explanation for the murder in 2-3.
I didn't like 6-4 at all.
The case itself was kinda lame.
Blackquill was the only thing that makes the thing good.
Iam only at the last case for SoJ but so far it is miles ahead of DD.
To be fair, gavin is competent too
it's just that he has the ideology of modern edgeworth where he doesn't care about winning as long as he gets to the truth, so there's a lot of "alright you win lets move on" instead of "how about THIS crazy theory"
How is he in the original games? Is he "cool" or "badass"? I like him because he's a major weeb, but I guess that's not applicable to Japanese version.
His female character gave me a boner and I wanted to fuck "her" to death.
Blackquill is the best part of it, nothing else really works in it. It's not an shit-tier case, but still low-tier.
>all of the cute girls grow up to be ugly hags
At least Athena had the honesty to be an old lady from the word go.
I haven't played the Jap version but I imagine he's more of a chuunibyou nutjob that thinks he's stuck in the Edo period instead of an angry wapanese. I could be wrong though.
I got so much I dont understand about her
How tf did she not get to forensics if she completed her studies in europe? How did she get to be a detective but not a forensic scientist? And did she even pass her studies, seeing as its 7 years later and she still doesn't actually seem to know more bout science than whats written on those DIY crime scene inv kits she buys from ebay. What happened to her sis, was she fucking executed?
How old is this bitch anyway, what, 26 at most? Why she treat Apollo like a fucking kid he's 22 for godsake
Actually why doesn't anyone treat Apollo right is he as short as Trucy, the 15 year old or something?
Completely canon. Why is this an issue?
Just gonna leave this here, don't mind me none.
Apollo is a manlet, yeah. 5'5'' / 165 cm.
I think it could've been a good case if it was more fleshed out. Not that short cases are new to this series but it was so blatantly just there to give Athena something to do (I don't even dislike Athena either, on the contrary I think that if they're going to use her they should do it well)
I don't remember the specifics too well but I'm pretty fucking sure Fran's initial argument was that no one else but Max could've committed the crime and that Acro witnessed him fleeing from the crime?
>so there's a lot of "alright you win lets move on"
He never does this. What he does instead is "I knew your point all along but was just waiting for you to say it!" and then everyone including Apollo is amazed at his sick mindgames or some dumb shit. It's fine to have a non-asshole prosecutor (this is literally the direction to go after AA3's conclusion even) but they clearly weren't sure how to actually do that while still having trials go on for as long as the writers wanted them to.
I think almost all the cases in it are pretty bad to be honest
BUT it has a pretty fun cast + they fixed the investigation segments after what DD did to them
DD itself had the opposite problem, I thought the cases themselves were sorta interestingly built but I didn't care much for most of it's cast I liked Athena though + it was overly streamlined/handhold-y on top of that
