What?
Dont open it.
You'll pick up on some foreshadowing here and there. As far as disciplined go not any major changes from other clans.
Their unique ability (don't remember how to spell it) is super fun. Not too useful in combat against supernaturals, but really cool against mortals. Not to mention the insanity mind control dialogue options. Malkavians also get Obfuscate that's the most broken discipline in the game once you get level 5 in it.
Your character will frequently know answers to things he or she should never be able to know, and that will usually freak out other NPCs in hilarious ways. Also you will hear whispers that are pretty vague and can be ignored, but they add some flavor. You get some unique dialogues as a malkavian no one else does, you will sometimes see hallucinations (rarely, but other than that, doesn't make the game that much different.
Their unique discipline is called dementation, and it is pretty fun.
Does autism fall under Malkavian mental illnesses?
Man the end of the game is so anti climatic.
you can roll a Malkavian with autism, pretty sure any DM should be fine with that.
Oh shit, I hear the voice!
>Malkavians also get Obfuscate that's the most broken discipline in the game once you get level 5 in it.
That's not celerity. Obfuscate is ok against humans but level 5 celerity is stupid broken against bosses and allows you to speed through levels even faster than obfuscate.
celerity costs a fuckton of blood to keep up though, which means you have to keep feeding constantly throughout a level, which is annoying af
but with level 5 obfuscate you can sprint, backstab enemies and never stop being invisible. Perfect for the last two levels that are crawling with human enemies. Not to mention obfuscate makes stealth easy, and a lot of quests grant extra xp for doing them in a stealthy way. For example the sabbat werehouse, the museum, the ship, the gang trade deal in the garage...
Are there any good reskins for the Toreador male?
...
Oh, I didn't see that.
it's ok.
you can argue with a stop sign
Maggots love you trust me
>"about" to start a playthrough
>been on clan selection screen for 5 hours now
AAAAAAAAAH!!!!!
Protean/Animalism focused female Gangrel
he should play femgrel the first time through because he'll miss everything focusing on her ass.
I think of replaying the game as tremere. How is their blood magic? Is it fun and effective enough to carry the game through sewers and bosses? Do you get some unique content and sisequests from Straus?
How the fuck am I supposed to decide between these Bloodlines threads? It's like choosing between the Camarilla and Anarch, they both suck shit but one of them was here before the other.
>How is their blood magic?
Overpowered
>Is it fun and effective enough to carry the game through sewers and bosses?
Yes, Bloodshield helps a lot against bosses, Bloodboil is great against humies.
>Do you get some unique content and sisequests from Straus?
In the Gargoyle quest, yes, you can earn a unique Tremere only fancy heaven.
>It's like choosing between the Camarilla and Anarch
Anarch, always pick anarch.
damsel is such a qt
You play as if your character already know what's going to happen
I tried to get into this game, I really did. But I just couldn't. Everything about the writing just screams Reddit to me, it has no consistency.
>hahahah how randumb is this?!??! xd
>look at my booooooooooobs! :o
>nah but seriously, time for serious edgy vampire stuff for a change ;)
The gameplay certainly can't carry the game and the writing is such a mess that you can't really get a good "grip" of it. A shame really, the atmosphere is excellent
if for whatever reason you dislike the writing (maybe you're a lobotomized mental patient, who knows) I advise you to stay away from this game as the gameplay sure won't win you over.
*shouldn't
It's the option between Hannibal Lecter and Charles Manson. Either intelligent refined killers of class or murder hobos.
The parts of the writing are good, the sum isn't. It's like it doesn't really know what it wants to be. Either go full on serious and use humor sparingly or vice-versa. Mixing them both together just doesn't work.
So im posting here, maybe someone will know. Can you somehow remove the casting animations for disciplines without removing the new disciplines? This fucking animation kills my immersion way too much.
I don't think you're supposed have any hope of becoming truly free of the Camarilla's grasp even if you were sired during the middle ages, so that kind of justifies the Anarch's flawed philosophy.
It should feel intuitive desu. If everything about the writing doesn't click or feel right to you from the get go, then this game is definitely not for you.
Yes, wesp's patch has an option of including plus patch content and disciplines without the new animations (the animations are plus patch exclusive, not from the base game). Reinstall plus patch and pay attention to options.
Those animations where an option you choose during the patch instalation. Not sure on how to get rid of them, outside of re-installing the patch.
Sadly, I wish that was true but its only half. I want to keep the replaced levels but no animation. Theres no option for both.
I guess you'll just have to cope.
sorry man
Fair, I don't really know and I don't think anyone has said anything about that. You could look shit up on planet vampire or gamefaqs or steam but I doubt you would find anything specifically for the animations. Maybe find out where the cast animation files are in the vampire folder and delete them or replace them with a vanilla version? Or maybe there's some command in-game, maybe Wesp will know more.
Is that a cracked blood bag?
it's a cracked mirror
Do I have to destroy the Gargoyle if I want to side with Strauss?
You can lie to Strauss about it, but a true ((((Camarilla)))) would never let that slab of stone stay animated.
Yeah ive been looking for the past 2 days or so. Not much on it, and it seems not much complaining either. You guys were the last people I asked. Been looking at the files too, nothing really shows anything related to casting animations. I guess what that user says is the way either deal with it or remove it. A shame too because the discipline changes are pretty good I think but the animation is way too jarring, even in first person to use.
I think so, I know you must destroy it to get the unique Tremere heaven, not sure about his ending
Wait you could talk to Strauss about the gargoyle?God damn it.
aye, he even gives you a magical item to help you kill it
yeah.
I assume it's at the same time you do the quest for Isaac.
you get the quest from Isaac, then you go talk to Strauss
I like this kinda gameplay. It feels like a vidya should feel
Some of the most unintuitive shit in the game, like returning to warn Wong Ho after hacking that email in the Fu Syndicate (which wasn't in vanilla at all I think).
If you know a lot about oWoD, you'd obviously know Strauss could help you with the matter, but considering the Theater is right across the street from Isaacs', I doubt 95% of players ever talked to Strauss about it.
what, even the combat?
Yupp
are you a mong? A mentalist? A jigger?
I don't think so. I just really like it. I love the story, sneaking around, the combat. The only thing I see wrong with it are all the options you have during combat
but... but you just spam attack, and all animations are really clunky. Not only that they implemented all kinds of different moves for melee, like holding the attack and moving in a direction will do a different type of attack, and you'll never use any of them except just spam mouse 1.
You can just spam attack if you want to. Its an older game so clunky is what its supposed to be
There's also a room in the Chantry with a diary talking about Gargoyles and other creatures, it's easy to miss.
Honestly the combat ain't that bad as long as you build your character's combat skills properly. I'd much rather have VTM:B combat in an RPG than turn based combat.
> I'd much rather have VTM:B combat in an RPG than turn based combat.
Tactical turn based games might be my favorite genre. I'd love to play more tactical RPGs, except most of them are jap shit, can't name a single western one except XCOM
forgot to add the image
ok I just remembered Shadowrun and Wasteland 2, but that's still only 2 games
What about Jagged Alliance?
Divinity: Original Sin
The first two Fallout games are also turn based RPGs
